So so sad on so many levels.

I got a niggling feeling about that PC. It took me back to the interview with the mother (Smith) who claimed she was carjacked and her children were in the car. The husband knew all along that LE suspected her and asked him to do the interview to see what she said.

That was the first thing that came into my mind.

Another beautiful soul taken from family, friends and students. Absolutely tragic.

I don't see any marks on his face or hands or arms...makes me think it may not have been as up close and personal as strangulation. I hope she didn't suffer. I really despise this cowardly disgusting person and what he did to her and her family and all the people who love her.

Maybe he drugged her first? Something in a drink he brought along?

At the time of the news conference, Tessier was already a person of interest because of inconsistencies in his story, Manger said.

“The decision to allow him to participate in that news conference was a calculated decision by the detectives in the case for the express purpose of hearing what he had to say,” Manger told reporters. “It was done with the approval and knowledge of the victim’s family.”

Tessier was known to visit the area on Prices Distillery Road outside Damascus. Over the past week, he had been there several times, Manger said. With a search warrant, police visited the property, and found tire tracks that led them to an area that cadaver dogs sensed a dead body nearby.

Manger said that shortly thereafter, police found Wallen’s shallow grave.


Wallen was four month’s pregnant at the time of her death. Manger said it would be up to the State’s Attorney’s Office to decide whether to bring a murder charge for the unborn child.

I thought their body language was strange on Monday, but now that we know more about this press conference, it makes so much more sense. Her parents are very strong to be able to sit through that with such grace knowing that he was likely involved.

Edited for clarity: I am specifically referring to how her mother was basically leaning totally back in to her husband while sitting next to Tyler.

I'm completely saddened by this I'm sure there wasn't enough bleach in the world, for her mother to use on her hands after holding the hand of the man who had used those same hands to murder her daughter. I would have vomited all over him!

I'm still so shocked that the boyfriend spoke at the PC on Monday. Watching it again to note his body language. He looks like he wants to run out of there! Her parents are amazing with her mom holding his hand in her lap and her dad keeping his arm on his shoulder. I bet they were praying he would crack right there on stage and confess.

I also wanted to note that the police not only went along with having TT speak to see what he would say, the police released information they knew was incorrect as part of the ruse. In the beginning the officer says that Laura last contacted them on Monday. As of today's PC, we know that is false, but some media sources have not caught up and are still reporting Monday as the last time she had contact. Hopefully the news will figure it out and make corrections. Police also said this was not a criminal investigation. In reality, they were suspicious and investigating foul play from the start. JMO.

How he could stand up there and say those things and suggest she got herself in some sort of trouble makes me sick when he had already murdered and buried her.

I think that picture was after Tyler got done speaking. At the time he was moving his thumb to rub her mother's hand, despicable! He looks like he is searching their facial expressions to see if they bought his act. Her father did a remarkable job of holding it together and pretending that he believed his daughter was alive and he was pleading for her to come back home or for someone to release her. Now it makes sense why her father's speech was somewhat wooden and strained and he stuck to what he had written on his notes. The whole presser was a show for the suspect! Can anyone comment on if there could be additional charges against TT for so blatantly lying?
