Circumstances of Discovery
On November 16th, 1993 at approximately 15:56, the body of an Asian male was found in a wooded area on Lower Pindell Road in the Lothian area of Anne Arundel County. A check of all the police departments in the Baltimore and Washington area for missing persons reports failed to develop anyone matching the description of the victim.

A tallish asian man wearing a black leather jacket, with no tattoos to speak of seems rare to me, but the description does match a man missing 1 year previously in Canada, only 500 miles away.... But there is very little in the way of information for Luom Van Truong.

Deleted my posted article which referenced an unidentified body found on same date on Upper Pindell Road. This John Doe was found on Lower Pindell Road. Continuing to research, will post any findings.

This would appear to reference the same John Doe, however refers to Upper Pindell Road. Clothing, date of discovery are similar/same so I am posting.

Bumping this because I can't believe he's gone 30 years without being identified.

Anne Arundel County's cold case files says he died of "trauma to the upper body," which would be consistent with this article's saying he was strangled.

Assuming this man was living in Maryland or the surrounding areas (DC, NoVA) and the fact that after 30 years, nobody's claimed him and there's few if any matching missing person profiles makes me think that maybe this guy wasn't a U.S. citizen. Maryland's known for being a magnet for international talent because of medical schools, hospitals, etc. Does anybody here know if other countries list missing overseas nationals?

Sent in the possible tip that this John Doe might be Toan Dinh Nguyen. There is quite a bit of distance but I would imagine distance would be desired if you are fleeing a homicide.

The height difference is approx 2-3 inches though so this might not be the best guess. But I still dont think it hurts to submit.
