Found Deceased MD - Malachi Lawson, 4, *autistic*, Baltimore, 1 August 2019 *Arrests*

  • #141
Over the weekend when the news first broke that he was burned in the tub, one of the local channels reported that the police tested the bath water and it never got very hot. I only heard that once and can't find it now but I believe it was on WJZ. So that means they either poured boiling water on him or he got burned some other way. There was a local vigil Sunday and the community is so upset. This is just so sad. MOO
:( Horrendous.

There was another vigil last night. Community member donating burial plot. One of the attendees said she used to be his foster mom. Lots of people talking about his sweet smile. Just so sad. MOO

So of course, this begs the question, why was he in foster care? Obviously, something bad enough had happened to him (broken femur?) to have CPS take him away. Another child returned to parents who had no business touching a child, much less raising one <<insert steaming hot angry face>>.

Kind of young to be missing a tooth at 4yo.
Maybe a bit young -- especially an upper tooth. Lower teeth are more commonly lost prior to uppers. And 4 y/o does sound a bit early to start losing upper teeth -- but it certainly happens. My 6 1/2 year old grandson has lost 2 lowers, and one upper has been a bit loose for at least a month. Of course each child is different -- some start losing teeth sooner than others.

FBI Baltimore Joining Search For Missing 4-Year-Old Malachi Lawson

[....]

He was visiting his grandmother in northwest Baltimore.

WJZ was told that Malachi and his grandmother were playing outside. When his grandmother went into the house to get snacks, she came back outside, and he was gone.

[....]
Ooohhh, don't leave a 4 y/o out in the yard by himself for one minute -- maybe if he's in a secluded backyard with a fence. Maybe.
Oh, my. Scary. A few seconds can mean a lifetime.

HAPPENING NOW: @BaltimorePolice Commissioner Michael Harrison is talking about the missing four-year-old boy, Malachi Lawson. He says Lawson walks with a limp because he broke his femur when he was young. @WMAR2News

The Commissioner says they don’t believe there is foul play at this time but they are not ruling it out. He says the boy was last seen on his grandmother’s front porch by his mother, who immediately reported her son missing. @WMAR2News

Hmmmm.
Broke his femur - that's worrisome, IMHO. The femur is the biggest bone in our bodies -- the thighbone. That's a very serious break, even for a little one whose bones are still fairly flexible and forgiving. Maybe a bit unusual, too. And then to get a limp. Hinky meter goes up a couple of notches. Only my opinion.

You do know the child has been found deceased? Sadly

Awful! This was the outcome I expected after reading that he suffered a broken leg as an infant and had lost a tooth already. ETA I know kids can lose teeth at that age but it’s not that common and lower middle teeth typically fall out before uppers. When an upper tooth falls out (or is punched out) that early, it can impact the kid’s ability to make certain sounds or can cause other issues such as teeth moving out of place... I bet he never saw a dentist though.

Yep, that bothered me, too -- early loss of a tooth, especially an upper tooth lost first. Atypical, IMHO.
I'm thinking this sweet little boy had it pretty tough. But no more.
I also wonder about the femur injury -- seems to me (knowing very little about orthopedics) that it would be unusual for a young child's femur injury to cause a limp. JMO. If so, well okay, but it seems odd to me -- unless the injury was so severe that it couldn't be set or fixed any better than it was. Poor cute little guy.

When will people stop killing their children? It’s just one after another lately and the worst thing is we teach our kids ‘stranger danger’ and to be scared of the creepy guy with the mean dog down the street when in reality children are far more likely to be harmed/murdered at home than by some random child snatcher.
Poor little boy, with a broken femur it sounds as though his short life hasn’t been happy. When will this stop!!!

Sad to say, IMO it will stop when the world stops.

Not sure why their orientation matters. Same sex, different sex, whatever, it doesn’t matter. They are evil people for harming this little boy, but them being two men, or two women, or one of each doesn’t factor in. They are just horrible people for what they did.

Just heard the news.....so sad and so mad!

Any indication the Grandmother was involved or just asked to concoct the story about going in for snacks?

If she concocted the story, that makes her involved in my opinion.
Aiding & abetting, I'd say.

Will they be housed in the same jail?
I would assume so -- in most counties in the states of the US, when there is an arrest followed by incarceration, the suspect is booked into the county jail and held either until trial or until bailed or bonded out -- if bond is granted. So yes, they should be in the same jail, but I would assume that they could be separated such that they would not see the other, typically. I dunno how it's done in every individual county in the US, but the events are the responsibility of the county where the crime occurred. The trial would be held in the same county -- unless a change of venue, etc. So typically it's all done within the same county unless special circumstances are involved.

That article made me sick!!!!!! How horrible!! Poor baby boy, never had a chance in life ....
Some little children never had a chance at a life they deserved -- they were born, and somehow certain ones were just born into horrible home situations. Thankfully, many of them were mercifully taken from the world sooner rather than later.
Oh, how fortunate so many of us are.

Foster mom. Well just dammit. Home, then foster home, then home -- I assume. Maybe he was okay and truly loved for part of his time here on earth. Let's hope. Then, typically (I'm assuming), it was back to the hell hole again.

I'm so enraged reading the updates. Do you see the arrest pictures how angry and hateful mom's eyes look? I also want to know if grandmother lied for these women and told the police she was watching him and he disappeared off her porch.

These vile nasty women tortured that baby and then left him to rot to death. No love. No comfort. No pain medicine. I'm just heartbroken thinking of what that poor baby suffered in his life.

They lied and said grandmother was watching him. They said they couldn't take him to the hospital because they weren't his legal guardians. I'm going to take a wild guess that grandmother was his guardian and gave him straight back to his abusers and did nothing for him and should be charged as well. Someone who IS his legal guardian gave him to his abusers and did nothing for him to protect him or take care of him. So WHO was his legal guardian? Who was responsible for this child who gave him to his mother and her wife? I'd like to see that addressed in the news on this poor child.

I think I remember reading that the parents, after confessing, told police that they had the land lord adjust the water temperature after this 'accident' so the water wouldn't be so hot.
