I’m gonna sit on my hands with the “WHY” but I can take a gander. JMHO

Really. An officer shot the man SEVEN times. The offender was handcuffed, in the front seat of the police car. Even though, there was a partition separating the front and back areas of the car.

Not sure why the man was placed in the front seat of the car. He was also, apparently on drugs.

It surprised me that this officer was charged so quickly. The incident occurred on Monday, he was charged on Tuesday. Other officer involved shootings seem to involve more investigation.

I guess they’re just not messing around and since the man was unarmed and defenseless? I’m not sure.

But I live about 20 min from Baltimore and about the same from PG County. I hear it all.

There was no partition in the vehicle and Owens was following dept protocol to place the suspect in the front passenger seat, per the update article posted above by Lgreen from WUSA9.

Thanks Lgreen! From your link:

“Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks noted that the 2019 budget funded the first installation of body cameras within the department, and that the 2020 budget will fund body cameras for every officer in the department.”

So all officers still don’t have body cameras? Or was he supposed to be wearing one but decided not to? The wording above regarding the bc funding does not make it clear when or if this funding has kicked in for 2020. A camera sure would have been convenient in this case. I wonder what caused him to shoot this guy 7 times?

Do you have a link saying there was a partition.

Do you have a link saying there was a partition.

I thought that I read that, but subsequent stories state that there is no partition.
