I know everyone already knows this, but this is just another repeat of what happened in Ferguson (talking about the same outside agitators jumping in.) It will be interesting to watch tonight when there is a curfew. It didn't stop anything in Ferguson as far as I remember. JMO

So the Asian family that had to be rescuesd from their own business, they would have certainly fared well at the hands of the rioters I am sure?

Never mind the people in the middle, y'all have a score to settle with the cops and that trumps any other sort of justice. Hey, lets just stand back and let them burn the city down, that'll help with the police problem. That has been suggested, yknow, to 'disband the police'...

Thank you popsicle! Beautiful!! I love this!! This is what we need to see front and centre. I know the media everywhere focuses on sensationalism as it brings them higher ratings. I just phoned my cable company and they are removing two news stations at my request which only show negative and sensational news. We can make a difference! There is a strong and positive advocacy for safety and calm in Baltimore - let's see more of what is truly happening there that will make a difference to the citizens who live there!

I didn't know you could have news channels removed, I'm calling now!
CNN, MSNBC, and the like gone!

I did watch it. She said exactly word for word what I quoted there. Maybe you should watch it, rather then just reading the false Fox News headline.
Oh my goodness.

26 seconds in "we also gave those who wished to destroy, space to do that as well." Just so you can hear what I hear. That sentence ends at 32 in, I think. It's only a 44 second clip. Take another listen.

I am proud of what the officers did last night. They were in an impossible situation. But they did what they could do with what they had. Annd more importantly they stood and they held.

I wish support had been given to them earlier. I wish they hadn't had to stand putting their lives on the line. And I cannot forget that fact. It seems like a little thing that they stood. But when remember that all of those officers had targets on their back. With knowlege of the crips, bloods and guerillas vows to each kill an officer, they still stood.

Gonna be a long hot summer. Still say it's gonna get worse before it gets better once it gets hot out.

Last night seeing those rioters it was easy to forget. Easy to forget that they were people.
But today those are people. They are people in pain. Those weren't strangers to them last night, they saw their family, their neighbors and even their friends out there. So they are scared, angry and tired. But it is their neighborhood. So they will clean it up. They aren't waiting for someone else to do it. They aren't expecting someone else to do it. It is their neighborhood and they will clean it up.

This is the way to resist and fight back. Yes, there are other ways, but this is a legit way. It's not wimpy, not "soft on crime", but it's roll-up-your sleeves work and resilience to resist destruction and chaos.

Good post and I agree.
