I am. He's the community organizer and should have a plan, imo. Waiting to hear what it is...

Parents

Well let's take a look at that in a couple of ways.

1) Some of the rioters from last night and yesterday afternoon - well their parents are in jail. How do you deal with that?

2) The one mom that went and smacked her boy around (on camera) is applauded. BUT if that would have been a normal day - she would have been immediately put under the CPS, DFS, (whatever name you know) spotlight and possible gone to jail or had that child put in foster care. BUT we applaud her today..........?

3) In the inner cities today - a lot of these parents are also a part of the gangs as well. So when they called for the parents to get their kids inside last night - well they were right out there in the streets with their kids creating the chaos we saw.

So, how do we handle the parents? What is the role of the parents?

That is wrong.

I watched live on CNN and I have to say the police officers I saw had a lot more self-control than I would have in that situation. There was a woman standing at the wall of officers filming each one with her cell phone. She couldn't have been more than a foot from them. Another woman was sitting in front of them, facing them, just staring up in their faces. I was so angry at what was happening to and in Baltimore last night that I wanted to reach through the screen and grab some of those people by the neck. I feel like if they were using excessive force last night then we would have already seen video of it.

Thanks for responding. Refreshing doesn't work for me either. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I did PM a Mod tho.

It is a common occurrence in a fast moving thread.

Wow all that money, could they move the game somewhere else?

I briefly heard some discussion on local TV about playing in a nearby city. Two games isn't too much to postpone. Games get rain delayed and made up all the time. Hopefully B'Mor can get back to baseball soon!

See this was stated in other cities as well, that the protests and rioting weren't connected..until oops, they were. And as the discussion about this issue is more than just the protests on the street, again, many places to gather information these days, there is, at the very least, a subgroup of the protests who very much think the rioting is the way to draw attention to their cause. You can refuse to acknowledge that, but it is quite clearly obvious to anyone who looks with an open mind...

I have gone from a person who thought Zimmerman should have been thrown in jail to someone who is seriously starting to think there is some sort of subversion of the United States going on here. There are protesters out there who think that justice will only be brought about thru violence. You can not acknowledge that, fine. But I listen/read much more than a protestors' sign..

I am looking at this with a very open mind. But I'm not so sure that the rioters are a sub group of the protesters, and I'm not so sure that the rioters think rioting is the way to draw attention to their cause. I think they are the criminal element of Baltimore taking advantage of a situation to do what they do best. JMO

Build more prisons.

It will never happen. Don't get me wrong we should aspire to that. But in reality it will never happen.

Oh I disagree vehemently. It may not happen in our lifetime. But we will learn to respect each other. It is inevitable. JMO

If history shows us anything, then I highly doubt it. We will kill each other off before that happens.

Build more prisons.

We already have more incarcerated per capita by a HUGE margin than ANY other country on the planet. More prisons isn't the answer. Prison is the band aid on the gushing chest wound.

It starts with equality and respect and understanding, and flows from there. JMHO

Amen and thank you. Those who have eyes will see, and those who have ears will hear. The rest will bend over backward to hide from truth.
