I'm sure I posted this earlier in one of PB's threads, but it is worth posting again imo.

There is some interesting information at the following link on how the prosecution can build a case when a body is never found. More than 300 succesful convictions and of those only one person was later found alive after conviction.

Sadly, there is almost always one person who could end all of the worrying and waiting in all of these cases, but they seldom do...

Reward Offered for Missing Teen

http://www.wcnc.com/news/local/Reward-offered-for-missing-Monroe-teen-114789944.html

Sallis also had strong words for the half sister's ex-boyfriend, who is said to be the last one to see Phylicia and has now hired a lawyer.

"Only guilty people need a lawyer," says Sallis.

A certain person should let one of his/her family members or close friends collect that reward money so he/she can pay their attorney. He/she knows jail time is waiting. He/she just wants freedom as long as possible. (theory). I think if a person knows that someone is not alive, but body can not be found, they will push for (I think he/she is still alive), Just so the reward money will continue to climb. (theory)

Until a body is found there is always hope.... (doesn't mean LE can't build a murder case though..... ) I think LE may be waiting on ping results from MJs cell. They'll then likely map and search in those area's. This was not premeditated so it is unlikely a grave was predug in advance of PB's disappearance. The ground is pretty much frozen so it's unlikely PB is buried beneath the ground if she is no longer with us. I also don't know how many bodies of water would not have ice near the surface which would make dumping a body difficult unless from off a bridge? I know even Lake Michigan has a lot of ice along the shore at this time of year.

I agree to that. The morning of the 28th, gives much thought. It almost appears as if, MJ didn't plan to do laundry on that day but once he picked up close friend/relative to his family at 9-ish am, that's when he knew PB would be at apt alone for some time. It sort of seems like, once he left at 9-ish am, he wanted to find (any) reason to get back to the apt, knowing PB would be alone. Either he wanted to spend personal time with PB or might have (already plotted) for revenge. (theory). It is not stated what time PB awoke. Was it when MJ arrived to pick unknown up? Or shortly there after? What was PB doing before showering? (if she even had showered yet) as MJ stated.

It would be easy to dump a body in the Chesapeake this time of year. I asked about that early on, but someone said that it is rare for bodies to be dumped there. But I'm wondering if it's rare that they are found there, kwim? It's a large body of water...

ETA: We live in the area and swim/sail in the Bay, so I'm really hoping that lots of bodies aren't dumped there... :o

okay pb smoked or took two puffs of weed and drank a little of vodka. what about you db what did you do that night. isnt she a pharmacist or something like that. a random drug test should be requested by her employer. listen here its just a matter of time the reward is up to 25k. folks dont care they will tell on their momma to collect the money. what young person wouldnt like a new ride and designer clothing.

I am sorry but $25,000 is not going to get anybody to hand over the rest of their life and privacy. It just doesn't happen when you are dealing with educated people-it is not a "no strings attached" situation and it is pretty well known that there is no such thing as "anonymous"-just buy yourself a scanner and listen to how much of your personal information is being broadcast on a regular basis. Same with "only guilty people hire lawyers", sad to think of how many people really believe everyone else is that simple.

Or the laundry MJ did that day was to clean up any forensic evidence from his clothes.

Would LE really still be waiting on pings? How is anyone ever found if it takes more than a month? :(

IMO, and respectfully, the 25,000 reward is likely a wash in this case because the odds, sadly, are that PB is no longer with us. The 25,000 is only offered for her safe return and will likely never be collected. That leaves the 10,000 offered in Baltimore. I don't believe a family member will talk with just 10K - if a family member has information. 10K might not be enough when facing the possible wrath of other family members who will most likely refuse to believe the perp was involved even if convicted. IF a family member knows anything the risk of losing contact with ALL close family would likely not be worth 10K.

10K may be enough it there is knowledge to be had among friends. However, imo this group is so tight knit the reward amount needs to be considered in relation to what will make a family member or close knit friend talk if it is to be succesful. Especially if the person providing the information which would enable them to collect the reward risks losing friends or family who will refuse to believe regardless of what the evidence proves.

Why would MJ want to place himself in a position to return back to the apt knowing PB would be alone. To keep himself on the safe side, he would have waited until one of PB's family members were (present). Especially if he and DB were having some issues. He seemed (anxious) to return (after 9-ish am) as if he had (plans) on his mind. (imo) How do we truly know what time LBC came back through the door of the apt? We do know that PB posted on FB that only MJ was there at a particular time. What if LBC came back within 30 to 45 minutes later. We don't know anything about who was in the apt after PB's last phone (voice communication). Phone pings will provide more knowledge for LE, but certain things will not be released to the public.

I also believe they would have the pings now which may be why they searched certain areas. Has there been a lot of snow in MD? I am in VA and we haven't had much here.

Is the $10K for any info leading to P or a conviction?

I don't have much faith in rewards as a rule, but this case has potential to be the exception, just with so many people in and out and possible talk between them. Still, I doubt it.

And I am only feeling about a 10% chance Phylicia is alive...:(

Why he would place himself I dunno, but he did. Dunno if LE can substanciate the story about LBC or not. LE may believe LBC assisted in the cover up known or unknown to himself (LBC). LBC may be too young and naive to realize MJ may be trying to throw LBC under the bus or into the mix as a red herring. Either way, I agree LE may not release that info to the public.

Nope, not a Debbie Downer at all, that is the reality of it. I don't think the amount of the reward matters -there are too many "qualifiers" attached to them in most cases. Some require a "safe recovery", others might have a rider that you will only collect upon a conviction etc.....It is just not enough reason for someone to become involved and possibly cause problems for their own children and friends. I am not at all convinced that MJ did anything more to contribute to this then the rest of the family- I am still thinking it was stranger related and could involve a woman. PB might be more likely to get in a car or follow a young woman than a guy-if a girl shows up at my door and asks for something simple "can I use your phone?" or whatever then I am slower to go into "suspicion mode"- kwim? That would also explain the missing phone and the unlocked door. knock on the door-PB hands over her phone- girl uses phone and walks and talks her way out of view-PB goes looking for her and is overpowered.

Agree. However not only did MJ lawyer up he is not cooperating with LE. Why wouldn't he agree to talk with them with his attorney present? His unwillingness to communicate with LE with an attorney present speaks volumes to me.

I'm also in Va - about an hour from Baltimore. :seeya:

According to Weather Underground, as of today Baltimore currently has 4 inches of snow on the ground and has had 10.7 inches so far this year. I checked for the day she went missing, and there was no snow on the ground at that time, though.
