"She knew I was coming to get her from work," Kelly said, "But the last time I actually heard from her was 11:08 that morning. That was the last time she responded to any of my text messages."

Deena says she heard from her at 12:23 p.m. After that, the messages stopped.

Just after 1 p.m, Deena heard from her ex-boyfriend. The couple was in the midst of a break-up at the time, and he was moving out of the apartment. He had a key, and texted that he was in the apartment and had noticed Phylicia's phone ringing. He told Deena she was asleep.

As the afternoon wore on, both sisters assumed that Phylicia had found other things to do. It wasn't until 6 p.m. when Deena arrived home from work that she started to panic. She called her brother, her sister, and her ex. Phylicia wasn't with her siblings, and Deena's ex-boyfriend wasn't answering the phone.

After 7, she finally spoke to him. He said he'd left Phylicia asleep at 1:30 p.m.

Her half-siblings are also confidant she did not leave on her own accord. "She wouldn't run away from us," Deena said. "She'd run to us."

Some observers--including Phylicia's mother Janice Sallis--have expressed concerns that Deena allowed Phylicia to drink or do drugs in the apartment. Police have said the basement unit had the feel of a "college dorm." (Deena lived there with her ex and his cousin at one time.)

Friends and family, including Union Academy in Monroe, have helped to compile a $36,000 reward. That's what Deena and Kelly and Bryan now focus on in interviews.

"She has the code to my apartment complex," Kelly said. "By the time I get up there on the 3rd floor, I’m just…just hoping she’s sitting right there on the steps. It doesn’t matter what time I go in the house, it’s just…I’m hoping…that one day she’ll just be sitting right there."

This is a pretty good summary of the case so far. It represents what I believe LE wants the public to know.
In your quote above, I thought it was VERY interesting they said MJ texted DB at 1ish because he heard PB's phone ringing!!!!
I also find it very interesting that the whole FB picture piece has disappeared from the media. What's that about?

MJ does not have a criminal record. DB will not say if she believes what MJ has told her... BPD does not consider DB or her ex a suspect because "For the most part, [we believe them]. We have interviewed them both on multiple occasions."

As the afternoon wore on, both sisters assumed that Phylicia had found other things to do. It wasn't until 6 p.m. when Deena arrived home from work that she started to panic. She called her brother, her sister, and her ex. Phylicia wasn't with her siblings, and Deena's ex-boyfriend wasn't answering the phone. After 7, she finally spoke to him. And now Db didn't hear back from MJ until after 7? First it was "an hour after I called him" then it was "6:11", and now it's back to 7? WHY do times keep flip flopping? Getting a timeline on this case is as slippery as a fish. And all of this communication is via phone, so it seems like getting a time line would be a fairly simple thing to do???????????

PB’s recent trip to Bmore began like all the others. She came to visit her father’s other children, older siblings she’d only just begun to know. BB, a firefighter, KB, a day care worker. DB, 27, is the one she stayed with, and already one of her closest friends.
When she got here that weekend we went and got a tree and picked out all the decorations for the tree, and then her and I decorated the Christmas tree, together.--DB
The morning PB disappeared, she was at DB’s apartment in NW Bmore, texting both DB and KB who were at work and planning their afternoon outing.
She knew I was coming to get her from work. --KB
They’d written back and forth throughout the morning, starting at around 10 am. But by lunch time…
I texted her about 12:30 to see if she was dressed, she didn’t respond.--KB.
At 1, DB did hear from her Ex BF, who was at the time in the process of moving out of the apartment. He told her he saw PB’s phone vibrating and said she was asleep on the couch. As far as anyone knows, he was the last person to see PB.
I really got worried around.. I would say, I got home at 6, started making phone calls… I was worried as soon as maybe 6:20 because I had talked to my sister and brother and she wasn’t with either of them--DB
LE brought dogs in to track PB’s scent from the apartment, but the trail ends right out here… (Reporter is standing on the walk, just in front of the door)
We have no idea what happened to PB.—HW, uncle
Because DB moved out of the apartment and doesn’t like to go back, her uncle, Harry Watson met us there to show us around. When LE originally listed her as a runaway, HW came here and led the effort to find her himself.
We searched everywhere, and we have not found not one person that said they actually seen PB.--HW

She said she thinks DB let her daughter do drugs and drink in Bmore, and she said she is not comfortable with the company DB was keeping..
DB tells me she didn’t let her sister do anything that would have gotten her in the kind of trouble she now fears she is in.
We want her back, we want her home, we want her safe. Anything else does not matter.—DB
She says she, KB, and BB all believe in their hearts that she is alive. Suspicions may linger, but they say they are as baffled as everyone else.
We don’t know anything, besides she is gone.—DB

The ex has now hired an attorney who counsels him when he speaks with LE. He has no prior record, and so far he is not a suspect. But do you believe him? Our reporters go one-on-one with the lead investigator in this case to find out. Tomorrow, at 11.

I wish that either dB or kB had asked to SPEAK w/PB, regardless if she was "asleep." IIRC-She wanted her sister, kB, to pick her up.

IMO-mj was checking the status of who/if someone was coming over there and by poo-pooing that PB was "asleep" he could be assured that there would probably be no pop-up visits.

If only there had been....

I believe stories are being confirmed/clarified, in part due to questions posed on comment threads. I remember many times, folks posting "If MJ was there, why didn't he say something about PB's phone ringing?" And low and behold, that piece of info gets added... IMO

Thanks for this catch Falconi. IMO, MJ is FOS! A guy who doesn't give his STBX the curtesy of letting her know what time he will be arriving to move is going to give her the curtesy of calling to say her sister is sleeping and that is why PB isn't answering her phone? BS! MJ must think people were born yesterday.


I wish he would fess up where he put her. MJ holds ALL the answers to where PB is, and he is in for a big surprise if he thinks he can fool LE. It takes time to build a case and I foresee both a murder trial here ( body or not) as well as a wrongful death suit from PB's family.

At the time MJ called DB to say PB was 'sleeping' whatever happened had already occured. IMO, by that phone call MJ tied himself to being there when PB was incapacitated and unable to come to the phone. The question remains, at least for myself, is whether MJ had any accomplices later that day to assist him with whereever he put PB.

Only time will tell if MJ goes down for this alone or if those who assisted him (known or unknown to them) go down with him. Not sharing what happened that day, by ANYONE AND EVERYONE who was in contact with MJ that day puts them in a position of minimally obstruction justice or possibly as accessory to murder.

I'm also very interested in what the last discussion with PB entailed, or better said how did the communication end? What did PB say she was going to do? Did she say she was going to call someone else?

I think LE will be able to put a good amount of this investigation together based on electronic communication which will prove MJ's story a load of BS.

I thought DB said she last spoke with PB at 12:34? Now I am all confused again.

I wish we knew what time DB last verbally spoke with PB.

Working with these various times is driving me batty. We need DB to clarify exactly when she last verbally spoke with PB and then when texts ended.

And someone tell me if MJ's phone was not working and was trying to find a charger how the heck did he text that? I don't text so have no idea how it works.

Things become a little suspect to me after PB's (last) phone contact with KB and the 11:30am (FB post from PB). There is a time where KB could no longer receive replies from PB (but) DB was able too and that's kind of strange because PB wanted to speak to KB.

MJ had no choice but to tell partial truth because he knew cell phone records would be involved.
