What I'm wondering is: when MJ said he saw PB on FB b/c he saw the blue/white screen or however he worded it, I think that's the truth and that is what he did see. But I think he's leaving out the part that it may have been his FB account she was in. I'm still thinking she either found a way to get in his FB account (if he had logged in on DB's computer many times before or if he had been using it that day and had not logged out yet). That, IMHO, would send him into a rage more so than PB just looking it up via other people's FB pages.

I do realize that, being a teen raised in the digital/technology age more so than DB was, PB probably could navigate quite well between various FB pages of friends/family - maybe better than DB.

But I still think there's a little more to it than PB just seeing this picture on someone's FB, without digging deeper than she should have (i.e, someone else's account or someone else's computer). MOO

I know what you mean about it perhaps being more than just confirming the picture. I was wondering if she might have figured out his password and looked at his private messages or something. He may have just left it up while she was in the shower and when she came out she snooped while he was in the laundry room or somewhere. He may have caught her on his account.
But I think the real trigger was the angry reply from DB about the confirmation of the new girlfriend. Whatever she told him must have included something that PB uncovered, and made him look like a liar.

OR MAYBE PB friend requested the new girlfriend !!! That would be the perfect way to see what was up. And it would be something DB wouldnt be able to do.

So much great conversation going on here tonight! I'm trying to catch up.
I just wanted to say that there was something that struck me about MJ's posts on Find PB, when he talked about that moment when PB was on the couch. I would like to paste exactly what he said because the actual phrasing is telling. He said she was on FB, and then back tracked and said he at least saw the blue and white screen. And then he said he was straying off topic and started talking about something else.

At the time, I wondered what he was hiding. And now it seems clear that he knew exactly that she was on FB. No guessing about it.

I am reading through his comments again, and reading between the lines. I think (as someone on Find PB said) that he told us exactly what happened, except for the very end (where she is now).

I agree. I don't even want to say what I think he meant by she went to 'sleep' or was 'sleeping' at 1:30pm.
1:30 pm was appx an hour after the last contact that PB had with her sisters.

:(

I think you're right, GJ, that he told us everything, including the statement Cubby referenced about being asleep.

I think MJ may have carefully constructed his story to fit what facts there are and to come as close as possible without incriminating himself. That way, he has less to lie about. If she was 'lifeless' and 'had her eyes closed', then 'sleeping' is a pretty close visual, kwim? He may be trying to get close to the truth w/o stating the truth.

I may be giving him way too much credit here, but it would seem to me that if you don't want to get caught in a lie, then make your lie come as close to the facts (that LE can verify) as possible. MOO

BBM. I think you are right. I don't think you are giving him too much credit. I think two things might have broke MJ into talking. The fact that the presser info released they did NOT have all the forensics back AND if the theories being presented by amateurs like ourselves were getting close he knew LE would be steps ahead of us. Maybe it got to the point he thought do I turn myself in and confess to what I know and try to make a deal or do I wait to be arrested?

Edited: I wonder if DB (first) discovered that MJ was at the apt by reading PB's FB post, when PB posted on FB that MJ was at the apt, which caused DB to call PB's phone, is when PB confirmed that indeed MJ was there doing laundry. This might have alarmed DB and causing DB to contact PB again, just to get no respond. She then calls MJ's phone, and MJ reports to DB that PB was sleep.

Then phoned MJ to ask why PB was not answering her phone. MJ then reports to DB that PB was sleep.

I think PB told DB over the phone he is here..... I think he really was doing laundry and PB started snooping his FB page while believing he was not in the apartment but in the laundry room doing the laundry. I think she was caught by surprise before she had the time to exit and close the page.

It would explain why an/her email was left open. I'd imagine MJ tried to leave things as close to the way they were when he surprised her.... back to the fit his story to the facts as closely as possible without incriminating himself.

So very true and please excuse my edit. I was thinking about too many things at one time.

From the above CNN transcript link:

Her half-sister said she told her to get on Facebook because she wanted to look up this ex-boyfriend so Phylicia could see this other woman that she thought that he was dating. She also told Phylicia that the ex- boyfriend had sent her a text that day talking about, couldn`t we maybe get together?

She said that was the last time she talked to Phylicia. But the ex- boyfriend was at the apartment during that time washing clothes. He says Phylicia went to sleep around 1:30, which is sort of strange because another sister was going to pick her up a little bit after that for them to do some errands.

Oh how I wish DB would have done her dirty work herself instead of asking PB to do it for her. :furious:

I'm sitting here shaking my head that DB could not have done this herself while MJ was at work. WTF!

I dunno, but there is just something creepy to me about not being able to wait to get home from work to snoop at a FB page when MJ would have been at work later that evening. The urge to snoop being so great it couldn't wait a few hours. That is just really overboard and beyond to me.

Thanks for posting the transcript Cubby!

The thing that strikes me is that, though LE has now narrowed the 12 down to 6 (and I am betting we could list who the 6 would be...), they are trying very hard to not put pressure on MJ.

My question is, is that normal? Is it standard procedure to keep the heat off of a POI, especially when the general public is practically calling for the person's head?

It smacks of the way middle-school/high school girls behave. Gotta have the dirt as quick as possible. At that moment, it's all they can see.
Very, very sad for PB tonight. Still hoping. Still hoping. But very sad none the less.

I agree, very sad. I also have a hard time with a 27 year old 'leaning' or 'confiding' in a 16 year old about adult relationships. It's strange and there is only one reason DB would have had 'lean on' PB for that - being she talked about the drama in her relationship to many people for so long they didn't want to hear it anymore. PB comes to town and a fresh ear to listen to the relationship woes. I'll bet KB tired of hearing it a long time ago as well as the rest of the B family.....

What a nightmare for PB and JS..... this is horrible. I think I am gonna have a good cry about this case soon.

MJ's FB acct was private even before the "incident" I would guess. His was private from day one of this case (the rest of the brothers closed theirs after 3 weeks). His MS account is private, and his twitter account no longer exists. On the photos on family members' social networking cites, they refer to him by a nickname or an initial, never his name. Why? He seems to keep his identity under wraps, even before this went down. Why? A lot of people are private, so that's not a crime, but it just makes me wonder.

Perhaps MJ was not friends with PB on FB. So PB went through DB's account, to access MJ's page?? Or PB and LBC were up late that night having fun on computers and PB used LBC's account to access MJ's?

Your idea about PB friending the new GF is very interesting...

I think it is normal prior to having enough evidence to make an arrest. LE has to be careful of slander as well..... If they say something and are unable to make an arrest - the persons they specify can sue.

And DB said (as reported by JS) that she gave PB a little vodka so PB would open up to her... I start to get the feeling that DB was kind of lonely. Had she been isolated due to her long term relationship? Were most of her friends actually his friends? Or "their" friends, so she felt that with the break up she couldn't talk with them?

Oh PB. I so want to bring you home. Lamb.

In regards to DB, MJ stated on the Find PB group on FB that, DB was not telling the whole truth. Now we can see the activity that DB was holding on too.

MJ also stated that PB was on the couch with a laptop looking at FB. I think a laptop was indeed there. It may have been MJ's laptop.

OR did she alienate her friends. At that age, (teens into 20's) someone started a serious relationship and their friends no longer heard from them. Perhaps when she and MJ first got together she neglected her outside relationships aside from her family and made her life all around his, social life included.

Whatever it is, it is very very sad for PB and her mother. Neither deserved this. JS did her best to ask all the right questions about the situation with MJ prior to allowing PB to visit and it looks like DB wasn't fully honest with her when she stated the relationship was over. People who are interested in snooping are not 'over' a relationship.

LE would know from JS whether PB took her laptop with her or not.

It's also possible she snooped the passwords or DB snooped the passwords and gave them to PB to use....... It could be MJ was livid to see PB with his FB open on her laptop.

My 18 yr old daughter and her friends are mega-FB sleuths. Whenever any of them begin 'talking' [ as they call it] to a new potential boyfriend, the first thing they do is get together and cyber sleuth him. They follow trails from his friends to other accounts. But one of the main ways they get info is to friend request the guys ex girlfriends. That way they get 'messaged' when the ex puts up new pictures of parties and events, and usually the new guy is there in the crowd. [ It seems everybody stays friends these days] So they get a good overall view of the guy, and if he is a good person or not by reading the comments and stuff. If he is still good friends with his exes the girls give him major points.
But if the FB is full of drama posted by the ex, then they tend to write him off. I must say I like the fact that they get to run a cyber check on any potential dates this way. You can get to know a lot about someone by perusing their wall. LOL
