No, they did not use his name. Just "Ex boyfriend of PB's half-sister who she was staying with" that kind of thing.
But he has been named in interviews.

I would like to know WHY he has not been named. What's going on? In most cases like this, people of interest are named. He's not a minor. What's going on? Is he protecting a minor?

It is my firm belief that his picture should be posted everywhere! I think that it should be posted all over Baltimore, the news and newspapers because seeing his face could help people recall what happened to Phylicia! It may help immensely in this case!

From what I learned this place had a nickname: HELL HOUSE/CREEPY COLLEGE I :gasp: at the thought of PB even being found there myself. That would be plain awful because the place is very creepy and spooky. Also I learned that this place is a very popular ghost hunter destination. Maybe This is why the search was called off because strange things have happened in the area that they were searching in. I would be scared to look in that place myself, but PB has to be found. No stone should be unturned! I would like to say I am very disappointed and disturbed by today's events that turned up nothing :banghead:. At least a body was found to be identified so a family can have peace about a missing loved one but PB is still out there. Some where waiting to be found so that her family can have some closure. Why hasn't MJ picture been shown around to the public and by MSM? why? maybe because he did not commit the crime but he DOES know who did. Arrests are looming and these cowards better be ready to really talk. Hopefully and I pray that SOMETHING was discovered during their searches today and they are just not ready to release the info to the public. Might I add it may be time for DB, KB, other members of the Barnes family as well as JS, SS and their family to grant more interviews to MSM. Continued prayers to them all. I too am disappointed nothing was found. I didn't think she would be found but I had hope we'd all be pleasantly surprised. And ecstatic yet deeply saddened and she could finally be brought home and the next phase of this case could begin.

As far as MJ not being named. I'll say this I agree it is ridiculous POI's haven't been named. If I were the family I would seriously consider putting out a press release and naming him as well as all the adults who were known to be in the apartment the day Phylicia went missing.

Seriously, what can those who are named do? Sue for libel or slander? And then what - they would have to be deposed under penalty of perjury. There is NO way they would win a libel or slander suit because they ARE in fact the POI's. I don't believe they would wish to be deposed, even in a civil suit because that opens the door for them to be questioned about what happened that day.

I dunno, it is frustrating all around. And being one of many concerned I do not see, from the outside, how it benefits this case to not name the POI's.

Is LE scared off from naming MJ because he has a lawyer?? So what? Lots of POI's have lawyers. The whole city needs to know what this guy looks like, as well as the other people known to be there on that day. It can't be breaking any laws to show a photo of a grown man and ask the public if they saw him, is it?

I agree that I do not see any benefit to PB or the case to not name to POI's. I am new to sleuthing and am curious if there have been other cases where POI's were not named where LE had a good reason and it actually did benefit the case. I am trying to wrap my mind around this and see if maybe LE has their reasons that we don't understand. I am hoping there is something besides politics playing a role here.

Interesting. Half sister KB posted a comment on the peasintheirpod children FB page that no, she nor her sister DB verbally spoke with PB after DB left for work in the morning.

So why were we led to believe someone verbally spoke to PB the day she went missing?
Did DB really talk to her before she left for work?
Was PB really texting her half sisters that morning or was someone posing as PB?
Why wasn't KB alarmed when NO ONE could verbally reach PB?

This kind of puts us back at square one imo. And it greatly increases the timeline. Let's say from the time DB left for work at what 8am? to the wee hours of the morning MJ finally showed back up at the apartment. That's what at least 16 hours possibly 20 hours. So that gives MJ and his crew what 8-10 hours drive away and back? The Shell game with the timeline and events that occured that day is way out of hand imo.

I will also add, imo much of what DB and KB released was FED TO THEM BY THE LAST PERSON TO SEE PB ALIVE. No wonder everyone is confused.

It is TIME For LE to release some additional facts. Clarify fact from fiction. Put a halt to the rumors floating around. Enough! Phylicia and her mother deserve no less. It's time to lay it all out the good, the bad, and the ugly - so Phylicia can be found and brought back home to her mother!

I, too, have been searching for a reason for not naming the POI's. Everyone knows the name of the Ex, because it has been slipped so many times. But let the whole slew of them be named and pictured, so we can get answers.
That they weren't named from the beginning makes absolutely no sense. The only reason I can see is if there is huge doubt in LE's mind. But it doesn't seem like they have doubt.... Augh.

I hope Phylicia's mother is considering a wrongful death suit against MJ and his cousin and little brother. The process in civil court isn't as difficult as in criminal court and can lead to opening doors to help solve this in a criminal case. Enough is enough. Too much pussy footing around here imo. The timeline is shot to #$!! now.
The only things we know for sure:
DB says she left PB sleeping in the bedroom they shared, at 8:45 am.
DB and KB communicated w/ PB via technology during the day, up until 12 pm. We do not know who was doing the communicating, because, as brother BB said, PB's computer was up and running, and her email and facebook were open. So ANYONE could have been posting as her.
DB arrived back after 6 pm to find her gone.
And even that's in doubt, now.
I don't believe a word MJ has said. I give it a day before MSM releases his photo, given the events of today. He needs to start talking.
(as an aside, what would LE accomplish in 6 hours of interviewing? Wonder what they asked...)

Why didn't BPD offer to give DB a poly through their own experts when she offered to take one through the PI?

On what basis did BPD decide a poly was not necessary for DB and by what means did they clear her - if she is in fact officially cleared?

Why hasn't BPD stated KB is officially cleared?

I too hope BPD releases names and pictures. This is getting beyond ridiculous. Could it be because it took what a week for LE to become convinced PB wasn't a runaway we have a Keystone cops factor to this investigation?

I can't think of any cases in which a POI was not named this late in the case. The only times that come to mind is when an arrest was imminent within days of a case occuring and the person charged was named after an arrest. Of course this is from memory, others may recall examples where a POI wasn't named while LE was pleading for help.

When did BPD officially start searching for PB?

Did BPD ever track the refuse that was taken from the apartment complex from where PB went missing?

Where there any landfill searches for PB?

Do the sanitation trucks in B'Mor have GPS systems?

Has BPD eliminated the possiblity PB was dumped in a trash dumpster in the immediate vicinity of the apartment complex from which she went missing?

It would be pretty risky for MJ, LB or C to have driven far with a body in their vehicle.
IF they killed PB they would likely want to discard her quickly. Meaning a dumping spot close to the apartment. If she was killed in the apartment.

Have cadaver dogs been used in this case?

Has the apartment been processed a second or subsequent time after DB moved out?

Has road survellience either traffic or toll been reviewed for any of the POI's vehicles?

Has it been explored which of these POI's have access to other vehicles, warehouses, dumpsters near their places of work?

So many questions and LE is staying so tight lipped. Imo, too tightlipped and not releasing enough to the public allowing the public to be of further assistance.

JMO
