The man who is PB's stepfather is JS's ex-husband. They have two children together. He did not surface much, for that reason. He was at all major pressers, and from all accounts, was a serious positive male influence in PB's life. He treated her as his daughter. He actually is based in S.C. I believe.

I pray they get back together. Many couples seem to split up when something like this takes place. JS is probably Soul Searching within herself. I hope she understands that she's the best mother ever. Keep faith in God and not mankind.

So he was not interviewed because he was no longer with JS?
But if he was a big influence in PB's life how come MSM didn't interview him?
They interviewed NH father and stepfather.

Maybe he was uncomfortable speaking in public. Maybe his work duties kept him away? I do not know.
MSM missed many, many opportunities to get more information out to the public, and to get information from key players in PB's life.

Here in the U.S., race is always a factor. A lot of people don't like to look at it, but it is always there. I get very weary of people downplaying race--unless you have experienced it, you have no idea how big a factor it is. And in my opinion, anyone who has experienced race-related issues has every right to bring up race as a factor. And anyone who has not experienced the effects of racism (including myself) needs to listen and try to understand.

Along with race, socio-economic status is always a factor. Look at children who go missing who come from low-income families, and compare their coverage to that of middle and upper middle class families.

Would LE have taken this case more seriously if PB had been a white girl? Probably. Would LE have taken this case more seriously if she had been an African-American girl from a well-off neighborhood? Probably. A white girl from a well-off neighborhood? They would have been all over it. IMO.

In my opinion. LE started to take the case seriously when they MET JS. Because when they met her, they realized PB was completely out of her element, and all their pre-judgments of a 16 yr old girl from that area of B'more did not fit. In all fairness, since that moment, LE has used a phenomenal load of resources to try and find her. But the 2 or 3 day window of lost opportunity...we'll never know if it would have made a difference.

I think it's time for LE to put the pressure on. Perhaps they are waiting for some DNA results or something to return.

I think LE needs to now find a way to gain search warrants for each person(s) that certain people had contact with on Dec 28th, 2010 and for people who lived close to the apt or in that very building. They need the sniff-dog/snoop-dogs to be present.

Who knows? Perhaps there was no evidence in the apt, because they took PB right away to somewhere close by. I believe some people saw and heard but won't talk because they are actual friends and family members of the person who lived in the apt with DB.

In fact, we could provide LE with a specific list of 6 individuals, if they need it.
But I trust they have all the names they need, and as you said, are waiting for some specific evidence.
I hope PB's body provides evidence that supports a time frame for when her body entered the water, to help with looking at traffic cams.

I still wonder if they ever looked at the video cameras at the Wallmart off Rolling Rd for the 28th... Wonder if any tote bags or large tubs were purchased.

They really need to; and I think someone works at one of the WalMarts who is affiliated with the alleged POI's.

When it's all said and done, it is my opinion that they had the nerve to go back on that side of town (the apt area), is when they returned back to the first scene of the crime with no remorse, no heart, no conscious, just a dark Soul. Justice for PB!

On one of the news articles, I read that there is a pond/lake/water retaining area on the west side of the river, north of the dam. This is where PB was found. The pond/lake area is covered with floating logs, etc. This is where she was.

On another place (I can not for the life of me remember where. Too much reading) I read that bodies in water float face down, and as they go down river, the bottom of the river can damage the face quite extensively. I remember LE saying they didn't think dental records would be able to identify the body...that makes me think when LE first saw the body they weren't sure if any teeth were still present. Sorry, I know that is way graphic. fortunately they were wrong, the dental records helped. I hope they are wrong about other things as well.

I recall the comment made by LE regarding the dental records. IIRC the statement was along the lines of being unsure if she could be identified with dental records. Dentals can not always positively rule in depending on what kind of x-rays or dental work has been done. For example a person with no fillings or almost perfect teeth would be more difficult to identify than a person with identifiable dental work such as fillings, crowns...

I'm not sure I would conclude LE's statement as indicative of the condition of her remains. I think it meant I"m not qualified to say or something along those lines. All LE really does is a visual inspection of remains found (prior to transporting them to the ME) , secures the area... The ME would then send the dentals to a forensic orthodontist to compare.

A little OT but there is tons of fantastic discussion in the UID forum regarding dentals being used for identification. WS member CarlK90245 is fantastic with his knowledge of using dentals for id purposes.

It was stated that on the morning of Dec 28th. 2010, MJ was due to pick up LBC or lil brother and that the 21 yr old cousin was present as well. I thought that the 21 yr old has transportation. Therefore, MJ should not had to pick up the 21 yr old and if the 21 yr old indeed have transportation, the 21 yr old could have dropped off the other family member to another relatives crib. Seems like MJ was looking for any reason to go back to that apt. 9ish a.m. seems like the young men were discussing what (might) get done to PB. Bright and early in the morning the young men were probably plotting.

Adding: seems like one of the young men who stayed the night, may have called MJ to let him know that DB had left out. Not unless MJ spent the night as well and DB told them they had to leave when she went to work. I don't think MJ stayed the night. I think MJ went and hung out with the others and probably smoked that funny stuff because he had a lot on his mind. MJ was probably very upset that things went that sour with he and DB. I think MJ likes to have control and was finally stripped of it when DB said no more.

What would make DB say no more?

Good points we haven't discussed that I recall. If, what was stated that C lived there at the apartment and was present - and had a vehicle there was really no reason for MJ to have to provide transportation. Unless the older cousin had to be at work and couldn't drive LB home.

but on the other hand, if MJ were really there for the purpose of packing why not have LB hang around and give him a hand packing and moving?

I don't think MJ was himself the morning of Dec 28th. I think MJ was troubled over something that had taken place on the night of the 27th or the middle of the morning on the 28th. I think MJ was troubled to the point that he drink and smoked more than he normally does. I don't think MJ got any sleep the night b4 Dec 28th and probably didn't score with any of the females he wanted to score with. I could be wrong. Just thinking out loud.

For men that are womanizers, it is common that at some point, each of his lady friends get upset with him at the same time and none of them want to deal with him. Still thinking out loud

We’re still waiting for cause of death on both those bodies. Hopefully this week, we’ll make some headway on that and then we’re waiting for the formal identification on the second body,” Guglielmi said.

Police still have no evidence of a connection between the bodies but the level of confidence in solving this case is high. “In the entire country, I don’t think there’s a better team when it comes to investigating death investigations,” Guglielmi said. Police say that, contrary to some earlier reports, they do not have a suspect in the case.

The amount of agony that JS must be in now, may be impossible to describe. I pray that she is comforted.

Justice to the guilty can only assist in her healing from this vicious wound to her heart.

How does a visit with the family turn into a 16 year-old out-of-towner being missing, then found lifeless in the river?

When and why did PB go from being a welcome guest to being treated as something of a "latchkey child?"

It's encouraging to hear LE say that they have "high hopes" of solving this case. I also hope that the mystery of the UID is also revealed.

Baltimore is predominately African American. I think the polices attitude was more about PB's age then race.Her age made her more likely a runaway. I think though that any missing person should be treated as endangered. That is just my opinion.
As far as media coverage, in the Baltimore/DC area there was pretty good coverage and I saw a lot of fliers covering a large area.
I don't know if I would go on Nancy Grace. I guess I would put up with her misinformation, drama and disrepect if it got attention for my loved one.

Not sure if N. Bend road factors in with Harlem, but that was definitely a place of interest. That's where the well was that they searched.

North Bend and Harlem are in the same area. Edmondson Village. There probably is a more local name of the area as well but I am not sure.
For non locals Edmondson Village is an area that once was beautiful and has some beautiful old homes as well as a lot of row homes. It's shopping center once was a destination shopping place.
Now it is quite dangerous with TONS of drug activity.

I agree and there's documentation of his devotion. R.M.'s FB profile is open and on Jan. 4, he notes that he and JS "my ex" are headed back home after chasing down every lead in Bmore with no results.

He also notes on his FB wall that he's tired of looking at places like dope traps, strip clubs, and the like while in Bmore with JS, looking for PB.

He said that powerlessness is so humbling and alludes to the cost of the search is forcing them to make the decision to go home.

He's so gracious and honest in his posts. He also has some GORGEOUS pictures of PB, just GORGEOUS.

He captions PB's photos with; "My Baby."

This is heartbreaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Equally distressing to me is the fact that PB's parents, looking for their missing child who was visiting "family," would not be accommodated on at least SOME level by the people who had charge of PB, to help them keep searching.

Wouldn't THAT be the Christian thing to do? Stop talking so much about love and SHOW love!!!!!!!
On the prayer page, numerous digs have been taken at JS for "only staying up here two days."

I might be paranoid but I would suggest no one join any of these FB groups with your real name. Baltimore has a history of witnesses being intimidated and even murdered before testifying. I know we don't have personal knowledge but I would still worry someone might get ancy if they thought someone was hitting close to the truth.
Google STOP SNITCHING. Thugs and murderers don't like people who interfere with them getting away with their crimes.
