Word broke late Wednesday from Barnes' relatives, and was confirmed by authorities. The attorney for Michael Johnson, the former boyfriend of Phylicia's older sister, confirmed that his client had been taken into custody at about 11:30 p.m. on unknown charges. Johnson had been the last person to see her alive.

Baltimore Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi confirmed that Johnson was arrested in connection with the Barnes' killing, but could not elaborate on the charges filed. An announcement was expected Thursday morning.

I think the charges will be more specific tomorrow...they have to have charges...can't just arrest him, JMO.

In connection with the murder, but ??? on the charges. Could be anything from 1st degree to manslaughter, so who knows.

Will either have to wait until the am presser, unless someone remembers his DOB and we might find it on vinelink.

FYI, I was just googling after seeing the headlines on CNN and came across an article about warrants for e-mail accounts. You guys may have seen it but I guess I missed it - but this part really worries me - now I'm wondering if they drugged her for the purpose of producing ... (bbm):

...The documents say that authorities "have reason to believe that" within the accounts there is evidence related to a violation of "sexual exploitation of children" and "distribution and possession of child ."

Many more arrests are coming. He did not act alone in her tragic murder. Oh to be a fly on the wall right now in that interrogation room. He was arrested in CONNECTION to her murder. That alone speaks volumes. He is singing like a bird right now. Thank God a arrest was made and justice is finally on its way!

Michael Johnson, the former boyfriend of Barnes’ sister, was the last person to see her alive. City police tell WJZ Johnson was taken into custody late Wednesday night in connection with her murder.

Police could not go into detail about the exact charges or what led to Johnson’s arrest. The State’s Attorney’s Office, the Baltimore City Police Department and the Department of the Maryland State Police are going to hold a news conference about the case Thursday afternoon.
