GUILTY MD - Rachel Morin, 37, left for walk on Ma & Pa Trail 6pm, car found at Williams St entrance, Bel Air, 5 Aug 2023 #3 *Arrest*

Time for the state's rebuttal, and it's even more passionate and I daresay Healey sounds frustrated.
She calls the defense's theories "preposterous" and "there is no one else."

Points made:
Kyle Stacy (man in the woods) "did the best he could" there were obstructions of tree/leaves and the sun would be in his eyes. Re: the shovel "it doesn't matter”

Also, Healey responds to the lack of trauma to Morin's genitals. The ME established during his testimony that if someone is unconscious there might be no signs of trauma.

Now, we play a waiting game. The alternate jurors have been dismissed. The jury is now deliberating.

A jury reached a verdict in Harford County on Monday in the Rachel Morin murder trial. Victor Martinez-Hernandez, 24, was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree rape, third-degree sexual assault and kidnapping. Martinez-Hernandez was arrested in June 2024 after a nationwide manhunt.

I’m not surprised by the verdict and I’m not surprised by the little amount of time it took to reach that verdict.
Good job, Maryland.
Agreed.

I was just getting ready to type well done, LE, investigators, FBI, the state, jurors, and to everyone involved for removing this dangerous person out of society.

Assistant Public Defender Marcus Jenkins, one of Martinez-Hernandez’s attorneys, is now delivering his closing argument.

“This case is very tough,” Jenkins said. “It’s easy to be swayed by emotion. It’s easy to be swayed by the graphic nature of the evidence.”

“Mr. Martinez-Hernandez is still presumed innocent,” Jenkins said. “You have to find him not guilty unless you have been persuaded, all 12 of you, that he is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Jenkins is contending that there were problems with the DNA collection.

Martinez-Hernandez, he said, would've been searching for news reports about the investigation on a daily basis if he was on the run.

Jenkins said his client had no reason or motive to commit the crime."This crime has all the characteristics of a crime of passion," Jenkins said.

Curtin tells the jury to disregard that last statement.

The defendant wasn’t bothering to search about the crime because 1) he didn’t think he’d get caught and 2) he flat out didn’t care.
He’d been abusing, mistreating and doing whatever he wanted to do with women for a long time. No consequences. Brought that behavior with him to the US. This is a very dangerous man no matter where he is.
His motive was simply that he wanted to.
I hope he gets the max.

Matt McMahon, the father of Morin’s oldest daughter, Faye, said he “can’t even explain the energy release you that feel inside of you.”

Martinez-Hernandez, he said, preyed on women.

“He was taking everything away from these women,” McMahon said. “And it was amazing to see so many powerful women take that power away from him.”

The arresting officer. The state’s attorney. And then the foreperson of the jury.

Wow, I guessed it would be quick! My thoughts are with Rachel's loved ones tonight. I hope they can finally start their healing journey.

Good riddance to the monster, hope he gets a taste if his own medicine behind bars!
