November 7, 1969..thinking of Sister Catherine!
You're not wrong. The DNA not matching Maskell's really hurts the case that the clergy was involved. Cesnik and Milecki having the same killer is plausible, but nothing more than that... Most of that theory is based solely on the fact that they were murdered days apart. And Pam Conyers? Fuggetaboutit. I've researched her case inside and out ever since I found out that I'm related to one of her killers (my grandmother's 2nd cousin). Right after that I read articles speculating that they were exhuming Joyce Milecki because she was last seen at the same mall as Conyers, which really freaked me out because I was aware of her case from the Keepers. But it turns out it wasn't the same mall, it was one 2 miles away, and then she drove another 10 miles and used a pay phone. If the clergy were involved in Cesnik's murder, Conyers definitely had different killers, because they were Protestant (so was she). Conyers and Milecki, plausible, but unlikely. Plus, they would've matched their DNA to Cesnik or Milecki by now.I’ve watched The Keepers, listened to a few Podcasts and read up on whatever I could find on the subject and I am not sold on the assumption that Catherine Cesnick’s murder had anything to do with “keeping her quiet” about sexual abuse in the Baltimore Diocese. I think she was a random victim of a sexual predator (or predators) and I don’t see any compelling reason why her murder was not connected to that of Joyce Malecki and Pamela Conyers. There are differences between the three but they are hardly that dissimilar. There are plenty of examples of serial killers who have modified their tactics.
