MD - Suspect's Weapon Falls & Discharges During Arrest by Baltimore Police

The police also tweeted about it which didn't help

They need to update his condition preferably with video of him from the hospital. Do it as soon as possible. Nip this in the bud. imo

I for one, am not upset with Fox or Mike. Events like this are all about individual perceptions.

He saw the black guy running away.......
He sees the cop with his weapon drawn
He hears a gunshot
The black guy is on the ground
And the next thing he sees is the black guy being loaded up in an ambulance.

When his gun fell out of his pocket it probably tripped him up and that is why he went down.

He did say he never saw the cop fire his weapon.

Now the woman that came on and said the guy didn't have a gun, and was shot in the back by a white cop was definitely wanting her 15 minutes of fame.

And on the BaltimorePD Facebook page around the time all of this happened it stated that multiple shots had been fired. Evidently that was at another location somewhere in the city.

IMO

And the ones who said Mike Brown had his hands up were called liars, but Fox News just proved the point. People see what they see or think they see., not all are lying or trying to cash in for fame. imo

I'm honestly starting to wonder if a shot wasn't fired at the man. This is so convoluted and strange.

I was hoping fox was filming at the time, but I guess not.

Can anyone clarify what is going on in Baltimore? I'm reading the headline and it says NG retreating CNN I see NG walking away and folks are throwing objects at them. What incident is this tied to? TIA

I have been popping in and out here today so perhaps the footage I saw was from something earlier today?

I heard on CNN that he threw his gun so cops would not find it on him. It discharged when hitting the ground.

Was the gun an antique???

Virtually no modern handgun discharges when dropped, the firing pins and hammers have been designed to avoid that for many many decades now. He must have had his finger on the trigger when he threw the gun and that caused it to fire.

I didn't see it, nor have I read anything like that on twitter. Might have been early reports. Sorry not much help.

From the link at the top of this page Mike does say. "The officer drew his weapon, fired and struck the young boy." It is at the very beginning of phone report. Twenty seconds in.
I do think that he believed his statement to be true at the time, with his mind putting together seeing officer pull his weapon, heard a shot and the suspect fall down. I don't think he lied in anyway. I also think there are some that will believe his first statement to be true and think anything else is just cover-up.

Hannah AllamVerified account

Penn & North quiet now, crowd mostly dispersed. Lots of media. But not 1 person I've asked buys the official account of #RobertTucker case

Mike Tobin said he saw a revolver is that considered antique? I have no clue. When I hear revolver I think John Wayne.

Video captures tense scene between crowd and police in Baltimore

Amazing all these people standing over the man laying on his back yelling they shot him in the back. Yet there is no blood to be seen. I take it there wasn't a hole in the back of his shirt either from the bullet entering his back. It seems so odd. Like all the "witnesses" were seeing one thing yet yelling another.

I think it's illegal in MD, certainly in Baltimore, for non-LE to carry a "hand" gun on the street. Or iirc even for self-defense in your own home. I think shotguns at home are okay, and citizens who can prove their job requires regularly taking business money from Point A to Point B can get a permit to carry a gun while doing so.
