^ MD Senator Catherine Pugh's FB, about visiting & giving hugs to Robert Tucker & his mother.

One commenter asked her if she had hugged family of ppl listed at this site.

Honoring All Fallen Members of the Baltimore City Police Department.

Good question.

I love the comments on that FB page such as this one "This is one of those parody pages, right?"

The older woman at the hospital id'd as his mother yesterday answered the question, "Has he been arrested before?" with "Oh, yeah. All the time." He should be facing a reckless endangerment charge at least. And it's illegal to carry a hand gun in Baltimore, unless you have a permit, it's unloaded, it's secured into a locked case, and you're carrying it between the place you live to a place you own (residence/business).

Wow! They require permits? I did not know that!

Where I live you only need a concealed carry permit.

Anyone can buy a gun with no permit or license. And no waiting period if you go to a gun show.

But back to this story: was the original Fox news story untrue? I am confused.

When I think "revolver", I think handgun that's loaded by hand and doesn't use a clip.
When I think "Revolver", I think a Beatles album.

Yes completely false. Their reporter claimed Tucker was shot by police. They also interviewed witnesses who claimed they saw police shoot a man in the back and killed him. According to this report Tucker was taken to the hospital to be checked out and had no injuries.

Tucker was checked out at the hospital and found to have no injuries.

People were praising it when she first posted it, and I was like WTH, but it is pure comedy gold over there now.

Okay, thank you! I was actually too lazy to go back and pick thru the thread. But the headline is much different than the latest posts reflect.
How on EARTH did this get so mis-reported?

Whoa whoa.... The header claims the SUSPECT'S weapon falls and discharges during an arrest.

So that is NOT true? Or it is? All the MSM I have read said this IS true.

Can someone help my old lady brain fog? My understanding is that LE shot nobody. Is this now incorrect?

I don't understand your post. Who's saying the title of the thread's not true?

IIRC it goes something like this...

Officers see on surveillance him acting hinky looking like he has a concealed gun. They start to approach, he runs, tosses gun which goes off. They tackle and cuff him. He hollers and moans like he has been shot and Fox News is also reporting he was shot and another riot almost broke out.

Oh and guns do discharge sometimes when dropped. Read today about a deputy who accidentally shot his mom at a wedding in a church!

I am trying to understand why all the retraction and apologies. In my opinion, the header seems to be supported by MSM reports.

So why the controversy?

Why would Fox news issue apologies? I am not "getting" it.

IMO, this happened as the header states....unless I am missing something?

Maybe you can post what ACTUALLY happened? Please? I thought it was bogus that this was a cop shooting. It sure looks that way to me.

Okay, thanks. Now I see. FOX initially reported a cop shot a suspect.

That is why they issued apologies.

Much clearer now. C

Um. Nobody. Just trying to understand why FOX news was doing all the backpedaling and soneone has been kind enough to explain and not attack. So now I am up to date.

I am not the least bit surprised that Tobin and the witness thought the man was shot in the back. If you look at this picture:

CEMPEERWMAAEAWo.jpg:large

The officer is in a shooting stance, and the man is on the ground. Now, factor in the gun shot, and them loading him into the ambulance?

It would be quite easy for some who were there to think that he was shot by the officer. Otherwise put, it is unnecessary, and imho, counterproductive, to castigate Tobin or the witness.

I was just reading an article by the citypaper about the gang unification in Baltimore to make peace(haha). Lo and behold, I see the not shot suspect mentioned....

News of the gang truce was not originally seen in such a positive light. On Wednesday, April 22, just days after Gray’s death, City Paper was filming the demonstration at the barricades police had set up in front of the Western District precinct, when a young man Robert “Meech” Tucker, who claimed to be a member of the Black Guerrilla Family stood on the barricades and said “All that gang ****, all that red and that blue ****, that **** out the window right now, you feel me? . . . We going at them,” he continued, gesturing toward the officers behind his back. “We going at them. That’s our target, yo. We not each other’s targets no more.”
