New trial date set in case of alleged Advanced Granite Solutions shooter Radee Prince

AUG 22, 2019

"The Cecil County man accused of killing three and injuring two others in the October 2017 shooting at Advanced Granite Solutions in Edgewood is set to stand trial in spring 2020.

Radee Prince, 39, of Elkton, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder and single counts of use of a firearm in a violent crime and illegal possession of a regulated firearm.

Prince’s trial had been scheduled to start in Harford County Circuit Court early next month but was postponed in late July at the request of his defense attorneys who sought more time to prepare.

During a scheduling hearing Thursday before Judge Yolanda Curtin, a motions hearing was scheduled for Feb. 21, a pre-trial conference on March 20 with the trial set to begin at 9:30 a.m. March 23....

If Prince is convicted, his lawyers said they will pursue a not criminally responsible determination.

In Maryland, to find someone not criminally responsible, the defense must prove that at the time the defendant committed the crime they could not understand their actions were illegal or conform their actions to the law because of a mental disorder or developmental disabilities."

Advanced Granite Solutions Shooting Trial: Competency In Question

Feb 21, 2020

BEL AIR, MD — The man accused of killing three people and injuring two others at his workplace in Edgewood in 2017 is slated to stand trial March 23 in Harford County.

Radee Labeeb Prince, 40, of Elkton reportedly seeks to be held not criminally responsible. His attorneys are waiting for a complete report from a psychological expert who preliminarily said that he had "symptoms of mental illness" such as delusions, paranoia and post-traumatic stress disorder, according to The Aegis.

Court records show Prince was found competent to stand trial April 29, 2019, and July 18, 2019.
[.....]
A judge gave the attorneys for Prince until Feb. 28 for their expert to submit the full psychological evaluation so prosecutors have time to review it before the trial, The Aegis reported Friday.
[.....]
The next pre-trial conference is set for Friday, March 20.

Looks like he had a hearing on 3/17 - and the 3/20 hearing & trial on 3/23 have been cancelled. No further dates - so I shall keep an eye on this one.
