''BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD (WBFF) — A mother in Baltimore County is pleading to the public for any information that could help solve the murder of her daughter.
Theresa Wooden is making a public plea for information about the killing of her 23-year-old daughter Tiona Smith.
On November 5, 2005, Smith left work at a fast-food restaurant on Cranbrook Road in Cockeysville, Maryland, around 10:45 p.m. She boarded an MTA bus headed into Baltimore City.
Witnesses recalled seeing Smith in Baltimore getting into a small four-door vehicle at Eutaw and Fayette streets.
At 11 a.m., on November 6, 2005, two children playing basketball in the 6800 block of Fox Meadow Road in Gwynn Oak found Tiona Smith’s body behind a Baltimore County home.
Police say she had been fatally stabbed.
Nearly 18 years later, it remains unknown why Smith was in the neighborhood where she was found.
Friends and family described her as an easygoing, friendly person who was pleasant.
They do not know who would have wanted to harm her.
Theresa Wooden, is available for interviews on Tuesday, August 25, 2023, to discuss her daughter’s case.
Wooden remains hopeful the case will be solved with the public’s help. To schedule an interview, please contact the Baltimore County Police Department, Office of Public Affairs.''
