At least 30 people were injured, two fatally, when a mass shooting erupted early Sunday at a block party in Baltimore, according to police.

An 18-year-old girl was found dead at the scene from a gunshot wound and a 20-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he died, authorities said. Three of the injured people were in critical condition, officials said.

"This was a reckless, cowardly act that happened here," Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott told the same news conference

"I want those who are responsible to hear me, hear me very clearly," Scott continued. "We will not stop until we find you, and we will find you."

Addressing the perpetrators directly, the mayor said: "I hope, every single breath that you take that you think about the lives that you took, and you think about the lives that you impacted here tonight."

A mass shooting in Baltimore early Sunday has left two people dead and 28 injured, according to Baltimore Police.

An 18-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital after a shooting took place at a block party in celebration of the city's Brooklyn neighborhood, the department shared during an early morning press conference on Sunday.

Nine people were transported to the hospital, while 20 others walked into the hospital, with three victims still in critical condition as of early Sunday, per police. Authorities say they received multiple calls about the shooting after 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

I don't get it either but there is a certain mentality these days that allows for this horrendous behavior. More people these days seem to have a lower threshold before they go into a very angry state: some of those people have firearms and when an angry person has a firearm there is a very good chance they will use it. Sadly I don't see anything that is going to stop it. It is becoming the norm in America. You just don't want to be around when it happens.

Then someone called the police dispatcher alerting officers.

BPD Dispatch: "Caller wants to remain anonymous, states that hundreds of males and females are armed with guns and knives at this location."

For now, it's not clear if officers were actually responding by this time to Gretna Court.

That call came in about an hour and a half before the deadly shooting.

Investigators have collected bullet casings from more than a dozen guns at the mass shooting scene in Brooklyn, The Baltimore Banner reported Friday.

Prior to the arrest this week, police said they were looking for at least two gunmen. Videos circulating widely on social media showed a young man pulling a large semi-automatic weapon out of his bag and young people hopping a fence to flee the shooting scene.

Three people charged in connection with the Brooklyn mass shooting entered guilty pleas to various charges, 11 News has learned.

BALTIMORE — Two juveniles and a person who just turned 18 who were charged in connection with the Brooklyn mass shooting entered guilty pleas to various charges, 11 News learned Monday morning.

Two juveniles who pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and a minor in possession of a gun received a five-year prison sentence followed by five years of supervised probation.

To date, five people were charged in connection to the July 2, 2023, mass shooting that left two people dead and 28 others injured.

One of the juveniles is a 15-year-old who arrested in July in connection with a handgun violation. Attorney Warren Brown represents the suspect.
