Winifred Joan Matronia was last seen in Laurel, Maryland on New Year's Day of 2000. She was reported missing by an aunt in August, eight months later.

When authorities checked Matronia's apartment in the 8000 block of Ashford Blvd. in Laurel, all her personal belongings, including her personal documents, car and credit cards were there, and her bank accounts had not been touched. Matronia was retired from the C&P Telephone company at the time of her disappearance. She may be in the Caribbean or in Florida.

Sorry there's no other photos of her online besides the above very blurred, low-quality photo.

According to Whitepages and Ancestry.com, Winifred appears to have been named after her mother, Winifred Elise Matronia. Her mother and father are apparently deceased, having both died in Florida within a decade of each other, before Winifred disappeared. I believe she had at least one other sibling, a brother who was a Vietnam war vet and died young. She possibly has another brother, too, who is currently residing in Florida.

I tried to access public court records of any marriage(s) or anything else I could find, with zero results. Not even any traffic citations. Because of this, along with what I found (or, rather didn't find) on Whitepages, I don't believe she was married or had any children.

Given that she'd now be in her seventies, I don't know if any of her acquaintances or close associates would be active online or able to come forward with any more info or better photographs. It doesn't appear that there is anyone actively looking for Winifred at the moment.
