did he have fishing gear with him? I'm thinking he was picked up cause fishing gear would be very awkward/difficult to carry on foot unless the destination was very close by

Looks like there are a couple of ponds near his house but my internet mapping skills are poor and I can't judge the distance - maybe a mile? Its been a mild winter but the last two weeks have been cold so I think that ice in that region is pretty secure.

The nearest pond of any size is straight line over a half a mile away (and that would entail walking through woods, private property, etc). Taking the road to that point would probably make it closer to a mile walk. If he had gear, that's a bit far not to take a vehicle. 104 Quaker Ridge Rd · 104 Quaker Ridge Rd, Greene, ME 04236

I wish they'd release some more information. Did he have his phone? If he left it at home, did it show recent activity? Did they search nearby ponds? Every story I read rehashes the same 3-4 facts.

His FB, I don't see "ice fishing" but he is a fisherman, Doesn't mean much. A lot of love shown on FB posts out there. Seems like a nice guy. Is there a chance that although he mentioned going fishing, that didn't actually happen? Some have posted there isn't much water areas to fish near him/walking distance. I would think he would have been located my now if he went to the nearest place. IMO

I'm really rooting for this guy. I wish we'd get some positive news.
