I just don't understand why selling and buying sex is illegal, if everyone is of age and consenting and free will and all of that...you can sell your skills as a physical therapist, a surgeon, a masseuse, etc...

It wasn't the prostitution charge that interested me so much as the fact that she was recording the acts, apparently with the knowledge of the men involved...why would they ever agree to something like that? Were they daring her to blackmail them and ruin their reputations? I just found that intriguing and unfortunate for how it might affect their families, which they apparently wern't even thinking about....I was really kind of hoping the lists would not be published but that is one of the risks these men took getting involved with her....interested to see how the ones who are exposed react to it and if they are charged too.....

OK, one question answered by your link....I agree with how this paper is handling the names:

Each of the 21 people has been charged with engaging a prostitute, a misdemeanor. Each is due in Biddeford District Court on Dec. 5.

The Portland Press Herald will not publish the names of the alleged prostitution clients without verifying their identities.

Here's a brilliant idea. How difficult would it be to release the names including middle names or at least an initial and the location the guys are from?

Then the "town" would know for example it's not the Paul Main they know and love, and so on.

IMO if she got her name published all over the place and that older "associate" got his name plastered all over the place it's only fair that any "gentleman" that sought her services should have their namepublished as well. Heck, if it gets that confusing list their occupation.

It goes two ways. Indeed many lives may turned upside down, but as mentioned in this day and age if you're a trick you may want to "assume" your *** is being taped. At least in an operation at that level.

IMO what is seriously sad is there's a young, pretty, talented girl that is having sex with so many men for money. Then again she beat the welfare system which ain't cool, but...............who knows? Plus nobody is coming down too hard on that photographer, business partner of hers.

Interesting because they gave out her age as well as where she lived, and even told us she had a child.

Well, the cops rereleased the names of the tricks with their middle initial included.

When they do prostitution stings, the "Johns" arrested are not only fully named, their addresses given, but their photograph is there for everyone to see.

It may sound very insensitive of me, but I think every man involved should be given the same treatment. If they were smart, they would have already confessed to their families so that the shock of them being on this list is lessened. The woman involved should not be the only one publicly condemned for her actions as a business like this does not work without willing participants who engage in the same criminal action.

I am also one of those people who think prostitution should be legal though. But until it is, they need to be fair to all involved. Yes, it is going to ruin a lot of lives, but those men should have thought about it before they engaged in sexual misconduct with a woman outside of their marriages.

The full names and addresses of the 21 alleged clients of a Zumba instructor turned prostitute have been released after a rash of mistaken identities terrorized the small Maine town of Kennebunk.


Justice Thomas Warren initially opted to release only the first and last names of the clients, however the parse information has lead to a 'witch hunt' among the residents of the town of 10,000 residents.


The men are all alleged to have liaisons with alleged prostitute and pornographer Alexis Wright, 29, who secretly recorded their sessions and may have shared them on the internet

Miss Wright had hundreds of homemade sex tapes online. Many of them removed, but some I guess are still out there. I don't click on any links That I have no clue what is on them so I can not say for sure. She used her real name and location. She also used her profession as Zumba extrodinare. Gotta have a gimick. Plus was she Zumba teacher turned prostitute or vice versa?

Anyway she also had two aliases. One quite odd so it's easy to look for. I just wouldn't click anything. Sooooooooo, my original impression was she didn't do this for blackmail, but to put online and make more loot. Honestly, that's some money making and that's where that dude comes in.

I actually have seen some of the videos, she was quite bold, including some that were obviously taken in her Zumba studio. If you take into account some of the sex acts that occurred, Alexis allegedly urinating on her clients, one can see why they really are fighting the keep their names from being released. Not providing any links here but they are easily found and many have been removed but some still remain like her backpage ads.

I guess that's one way to look at it but I don't feel that way....while I have no sympathy for the woman or man charged in this case, or for the men who are being outed, I think about how this is affecting their families....the schools are having to offer counseling and protection for children whose relatives may be involved....

I agree completely! Included in my thoughts are her child who I believe is 4 (I heard that on Dr. Drew last night, so no link). Fortunately that is young enough to avoid the heavy duty bullying that can happen at school.

She hosted charity events benefiting Toys for Tots and breast cancer research.

That's why some who know Alexis Wright say she's the last person they thought would get caught up in a headline-grabbing scandal.................

For local residents, the criminal case has been evolving in slow motion, with police releasing more names of accused clients every two weeks. Fifteen more names were released Friday, bringing the total to 54..............

Sarah Churchill, Wright's lawyer, said the media have presented a one-sided view of her client. Churchill anticipates more information about Wright's good works will make its way into the public's eye as the case proceeds to trial.

Wright lives in nearby Wells with her husband, whom she married over the summer. Both have declined to comment, as have other family members.

A lawyer who has seen the complete list of Wright's alleged clients says it contains the names of more than 150 men, some of them prominent. The 54 men who have been summoned so far on suspicion of engaging Wright's services include a former mayor, a planning board official and the local high school ice hockey coach. New names released Friday include a former Church of the Nazarene minister, several small-business owners and a South Portland firefighter.

The remaining names will trickle out for weeks to come............

Regardless of what criminal penalties she faces, she's already paying a steep price because she fears losing her son, Scherzer said..............

A judge on Wednesday dismissed a complaint from the boy's father — not her husband — seeking full custody. The father, Benjamin Hopkins, alleged she posed nude in pictures with the boy, who was partially covered with a sheet.

The judge dismissed the complaint when neither the father nor Wright showed up for a court hearing on the matter, The Portland Press Herald reported.
