Third vigil today

A vigil scheduled for noon today at Castonguay Square will proceed rain or shine, according to co-organizer Bob Vear.

Vear and the Rev. Danielle Bartz, a chaplain at MaineGeneral Medical Center's Thayer Unit, are organizing the event with guidance from LostNMissing, a New Hampshire-based nonprofit group that assists police and families of missing loved ones.

LostNMissing is assisting Ayla's mother.

The Laura Recovery Center of Friendswood, Texas, is assisting Ayla's father. Both organizations are working jointly to help the parents, who do not live together, to work cooperatively during the search, according to the release.

I ask that you go to this vigil to see the faces, hear the voices. You may have attended previous vigils, but this one will be different.

When I look into your eyes, I’ll know who you are.

I suggest that, with every moral fiber of your being, you come clean.

It will be easy. You simply walk to the police station in City Hall, right next to Castonguay Square, and turn yourself in.

End the nightmare for you and for all of us.

BBM: Interesting comment ... and JMO, but it is aimed at Justin.

There will be a vigil held today -- and this vigil is being sponsored by the organization that Trista is working with ...

JMO ... but things may be "gearing up" in Waterville ...

MOO ...

From above article:
Hanson said the decision to have the family members take the exam was a mutual one between themselves and police.

"They asked and we offered," she said.

Interesting. I had wondered if LE was involved in the polygraphs or if the Reynolds family sought an independent agency for testing. Also, the fact the police asked the family leads me to believe their investigative focus isn't as narrow as we've thought.

 • #464
I think le would be seriously remiss if they did not clear the Reynolds side of the family by asking if they were willing to take a poly. And their doing so, probably with a " just tell us where and when" (hence family saying le asked and they offered) does not indicate to me a focus by le, but rather, an expected thouroughness.

AMY CALDER: Bring Ayla back
BY AMY CALDER, Columnist

It’s time for you to step up to the plate and return Ayla Reynolds.

You know who you are.

And while we do not — yet — we will.

WOW !!! A "must read" ...

Excellent!

I live far away and can't do a lot to help, but one thing I can do is write a comment to the Local newspapers, thanking them for every article they do, and asking them to keep on keeping Ayla in the news.

I know they read those comments and the more interest shown in an article and the more Thanks they get, the longer they will stay on the case. JMO

I hope one of these adults that is involved, because I think they do know, finds their conscience! I don't know how these people that aren't the perp manage to cover-up, but we know that it happens. I just don't understand it. I do think this might have something to do with the drug bust of the gf's sister. I don't think it's a direct link. . .but it's the reason that nobody has come forward yet. MOO

I have wondered about the drug bust, but I am also thinking that the drug bust may have happened as a result of Ayla's disappearance. When Ayla disappeared LE turned over stones that they wouldn't have even looked under if Ayla had not disappeared. As the result of turning over the stones, they uncovered the drugs and they acted. Does that make sense?

Just to clarify, LNM is not sponsoring this Event. Early on the community member who is sponsoring, BV, came to LNM and asked if assistance could be provided...however, there were a number of things that was not in sync with LNM's ways of organizing things and LNM "pulled out" of the "association" with the community person who is sponsoring the event. However, continued to work behind the scenes to offer assistance. It is not sponsored by LNM. LNM provides their own events and always through the permission of the family and with their approvals on what transpires, etc.

It absolutely makes sense. Now whether that is how it happened is another thing. Very possible though. good point.

TOTAL. I too think the activity in investigating Ayla's case may have triggered the bust. When le is looking for evidence regarding one thing, it is probably not at all unusual to discover evidence of another.

Well put.

Maine State Police have now confirmed blood was found in the basement of the home at 29 Violette Ave.

Authorities said the crime lab is still working to determine whose blood it is, and how long it had been in the basement.

At last - that makes perfect sense with what we know, especially the detail that came out about the gate at the top of the basement stairs the other day. Now we know why it might be important, especially if the baby gate was indeed broken. :twocents:

Multiple law enforcement sources also told Team 5 Investigates that Reynolds’ father left the police station when he was shown crime scene photos of luminol-enhanced blood stains taken at the home.

This is why they were calling it "foul play." They have blood in that basement.

Thanks for posting this!
Hope the test come back from the lab soon.

In the meantime maybe someone in that hose will decide to explain who the blood belonged to and why it was there.

He also says there is "no question" that foul play has occurred...

Three people? What about the children? Weren't the other kids there or is McCausland just ignoring them because they can't testify?

 • #476
Another article on the blood.

McCausland also tells NEWS CENTER that there were three people in the home in Waterville when Ayla was last seen, Ayla's father Justin Dipietro, his girlfriend and his sister. McCausland now says those three people know more than they have told.

http://www.wcsh6.com/news/article/1...ood-in-home-where-Ayla-Reynolds-was-last-seen

Well, it seems that LE is starting to put some public pressure on the Dipietro
family. I've thought that because there are likely several people who know
what happened to Ayla, someone would eventually crack under the pressure.
You would think that as time goes on it would get harder and harder for
multiple people to keep secrets, relationships would change, people would
grow suspicious of things the others are saying. Hopefully, this kind of
media pressure will drive one of these people into coming clean about what
they know and ending this.

 • #477
Donjeta, that discrepency caught my eye as well. Your supposition is probably the explanation.

 • #478
How long does it take to match blood to a victim? I always that thought was a pretty quick process. I guess if it is just traces found in luminol testing then it would be harder to match. IDK.

My guess is that he is referring to adults only. His brain is trained to WHO did what, therefore he just didn't mention the children. JMO

Truly terrible news. I'm still praying that Ayla will be found, and that arrests will be coming swiftly.
