How long does it take to match blood to a victim? I always that thought was a pretty quick process. I guess if it is just traces found in luminol testing then it would be harder to match. IDK.

I wondered about that too. I suppose since Ayla is related to most of the
people in the house it might be more difficult as well. Maybe they would
have to do DNA testing to rule out the blood being from a close relative?

If JD has been ocupying the basement, one explanation that he may offer for it would be that it belongs to him. Cut myself, bloody nose, etc. Offering a dna sample to run the blood discovered against should not take this long. This makes me wonder why things do not seem to be going that way.

Maybe the answer lies in the degradation of the blood found, maybe JD has simply not offered any reasonable explanation for the blood, maybe the blood predates his living there and he does not know the source.

Now that I have played devil's advocate, I think JD is the key to what happened to Ayla, and I think an arrest is coming within weeks.

Oh wow, I missed where the blood found was described as spatter. I hadn't read that or missed it in the articles I read. Can you point me in the right direction? TIA

If there was indeed spatter, you are right, that would be way less explainable.

OOPs. I misread. I just went back and looked and did not see the word splatter. I deleted my errant post. Thanks.

If there was an innocent explanation for the blood, why did he walk out?

I wonder if Trista knew about the blood found or only learned it today with the rest of us. I hope she was told.

I would imagine they would be doing a midocondrial DNA test to see if this blood has he same markers as Trista it would be hard to say it was someone else's blood if it matches her...so I guess we will just have to keep waiting for the results, I sure hope that this is not the first that Trista is hearing about this blood while she is at a vigil foR her daughter.

Do they not have access to Ayla's own DNA from the paternity test?

Good point! They should definitely have her DNA already available.

WOW ! Just catching up here on the news about the "blood" found in the DiPietro home's basement !

I have always believed that "something" happened to Ayla in that home and that she did NOT wander off and she was NOT taken by an "intruder/kidnapper" ...

:waitasec: I bet there are a few people in Waterville who are "sweating bullets" right now ... and THEY SHOULD BE !

JMO, but I bet that ALL the adults that were in the house that night Ayla went "missing" KNOW what really happened to little Ayla ... And SHAME ON THEM !

And JMO ... while I am not optimistic that Ayla is alive and well, I believe that this case will be solved and there will be Justice for Ayla !

MOO ...

Multiple law enforcement sources also told Team 5 Investigates that Reynolds’ father left the police station when he was shown crime scene photos of luminol-enhanced blood stains taken at the home.

Read more: http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/30322519/detail.html#ixzz1kmBlpfCX

This is why they were calling it "foul play." They have blood in that basement.
.

I'm wondering why " Reynold's father" was shown crime scene photo's of the blood stains?
Was Justin shown the photo's? He must have, ..I'd love to know his reaction.

Maybe they just have luminol evidence of blood. If luminol shows blood, is there enough for a DNA test or is there only enough to show an impression?

Your link isn't working for some reason. Try this:

http://www.pressherald.com/news/2-in-Ayla-Reynolds-maternal-family-take-polygraph.html

The newspaper is taking it from the website, where it was released by the Reynolds family, I presume.

Ayla’s mother, Trista Reynolds, took a polygraph exam Jan. 18, according to the Associated Press. Reynolds was told by the test administrator that she couldn’t complete the exam due to an undisclosed medical condition.

Reynolds said she would be willing to complete the test after treatment by a doctor, but she said that investigators were content with the results of the incomplete test.
"--ronnieR, ayla's uncle-- took his LDT yesterday, and passed.

--trista has been advised to do as many interviews as possible to keep ayla in the news

--she has not rec'd compensation for any of them."

Thank you for responding, but this bolded information...taken from the post I'd quoted...where is this from? That's the information I was questioning, really. I can't find a reference to this information associated with a MSM link.

It was Justin that was shown the photos, they are speaking of Ayla's father.

I think " Reynold's father" refers to Ayla's father - not Trista's

Reynold's father is Justin. Ayla's last name is Reynolds.

I agree that LE is putting pressure on JD and the others in the household. LE's tone has definitely changed from members of the DiPietro household "fully cooperating" to "not telling all they know." Something else that is significant if I am reading this right is that LE is saying that those in the home had a kidnapping via the window story from the start which they find highly improbable. I'm wondering if there was a clean up with bleach which degrades DNA, and if maybe that is slowing results. All MOO.
