Good point! They should definitely have her DNA already available.

Do we know that a paterity test was done? I remember it being debated but dont recall the resolution.

According to the timeline on the Reynolds' family website, there was a paternity test. That is the only source I've seen for that info.

I agree that LE is putting pressure on JD and the others in the household. LE's tone has definitely changed from members of the DiPietro household "fully cooperating" to "not telling all they know." Something else that is significant if I am reading this right is that LE is saying that those in the home had a kidnapping via the window story from the start which they find highly improbable. I'm wondering if there was a clean up with bleach which degrades DNA, and if maybe that is slowing results. All MOO.

Sometimes bleach reacts with luminol as well. So if there is not enough blood left for a DNA test, the luminol evidence would likely not be enough proof of foul play, to a grand jury.

I hadn't found this yet. Is it in today's news? Do you have a link? I had thought that was perhaps why they had taken the window out, that Justin was claiming the window.

"McCausland now says those three people know more than they have told investigators in the case. He also says the story they told police that somebody broke in through a window and kidnapped Ayla was "highly unlikely" based on the hundreds of pieces of evidence collected in the case. "

LE is giving out more and more info. Now we also know at least part of the story told by those in the house. It was the window, not that the house was unlocked, someone else had a key, or that a door was pried open.

Someone came through the window? It sounds like the Di Pietro family has been following along with the Lisa Irwin saga. Maybe they are copying that story since nobody has been arrested in that household either.

Trista Reynolds was participating in a vigil Saturday for the girl and could not be reached for comment. DiPietro did not immediately return a message left on his cellphone.

The two came face to face for the first time since Ayla’s disappearance at the vigil on the City Hall steps in downtown Waterville, said Bob Vear, a friend of the DiPietro family who organized the vigil. They spoke privately for about 10 minutes before giving each other a hug, Vear said.

True, and bleach to clean a basement would not be that uncommon, at least in my household.

LE has known this info for weeks now, they are just releasing it now to public why?

My thought is, they are confident it is indeed blood and not bleach and they want to apply intense pressure on Justin.

The timing of this release of blood evdence info in conjuction with the vigil. . .

I dont think she knew about the blood yet. If she had I would think she would be shedding some of his. Moo

Bangor daily news needs to get its facts straight. PD, Justin's mother has publicly admitted she was NOT 1 of the 3 adults in the home that night.

Oh, hey, guess I skimmed the article too fast. I edited my post upthread to add, the Bangor Daily article was the same as the Post, it is an associated Press article. Pretty sad when the AP doesn't check their facts. :(

It's not an uncommon thing - hugs between an accuser and the accused. It could be what you said, it could be hope that the accused is innocent, it could be a way to put pressure on the suspect. Michelle Parker's mom did the same thing.

Vear said he was first made aware of the blood sample Dec. 24, but he doesn’t think it’ll amount to anything.

“I cut myself at home all the time,” he said. “It could be Justin’s, it could be the baby’s. There were five or six people in the house that night.”

How did Vear know about the blood since Dec. 24th ?

MOO: I think LE should go after the girlfriend because they have a better chance to crack her.

I think JD called mommy and all this happened the day before...Mommy takes the child's body and disposed of it, the rest cleaned up the scene and got their stories together. MOO
