"Father, Friends Say It's Possible; Cops Say No Way"

Article is published on internet!

Good Gawd! That was horrible! I thought I was reading The Onion.

It's an article about a missing child and how friends of the family want the public to believe she is still alive and to look for her and they don't even include a picture of the missing child!? There was no. . .please call the the tipline. .nothing! Blech! :banghead:

Wow - what an article. I don't know where to start! :what:

http://www.onlinesentinel.com/news/Father-friends-say-its-possible-cops-say-no-way.html

The Tudela family once again speaking for Justin, and frankly not really making a good case.

“When McCausland says it doesn’t pass a straight-face test, I guess I don’t understand that,” she said. “It is possible. It does happen.”
Tudela acknowledged that nighttime kidnappings within a home are rare, but cited Salt Lake City teenager Elizabeth Smart as one example.
“If you’re quiet enough,” she said. “If you’re someone who knows the house, for example, then you can be in and out of the house really fast.

O rly? The problem is, the Smart family home was about four times larger than the DiPietro house, and the girls slept away from everyone else. Oh and . . . the sister did see the kidnapper, so there was a witness, but no one took her seriously. And the home had been open to so many other people that the police almost had too many suspects, including a poor handyman who was wrongly accused and ended up dying in jail . It's just a completely different scenario, and Mrs. Tudela should read up on it before comparing it to Ayla's case. JMOO :twocents:

I was waiting up to get this article...and needless to say...I am completely frustrated!
Again, JD hides behind others and lets them do most of the talking.
No questions were answered. In fact, no disrespect to the reporter, but were any "hardball" questions asked?
And what credibility do the Tudelas have to be the DiPietro's spokes people? They weren't even at the house the night Ayla went missing..or even days leading up to that night, as far as I know. Maybe the son, DT was, but why weren't there any "hardball" questions asked of him?
Sorry for my rambling vent this morning!

“They were devastated. Their granddaughter, niece, daughter is missing. All they did wrong was have a child that was missing,” she said.

This is an interesting order of priority. It sounds like Phoebe and Elisha were a little more devastated about their granddaughter and niece being missing than Justin about his daughter.

DiPietro said there are good reasons to believe Ayla is with someone, but wouldn’t elaborate.
“When the time is right, everything is going to come out. And regardless of what law enforcement is saying or what (Ayla’s mother) Trista (Reynolds) is saying, this really isn’t the time to be saying anything. And law enforcement, they can say ‘We don’t believe they’re telling the truth,’ but there’s a big difference between fact and thinking something.”

What does this even mean..??? LE said the family should be talking but they know better and this is not the time to say anything because...? LE has said it does not appear to be an abduction but the family knows better and they have good reasons to believe Ayla is with someone because...? Why the heck didn't they share these good reasons with LE? When the time is right...? WHAT is he waiting for, while his daughter is with who knows who going thru who knows what???

Anyway, even if there are good reasons to think that Ayla is with someone there's a big difference between fact and thinking something.

“Suffice it to say, Justin is still very confident that eventually police are going to get to the bottom of it and find Ayla,” he said. “If whoever out there has her could help speed that process up, that would make thousands of people’s lives better.”

Why is he talking about thousands of people?
Which thousands of people? Wouldn't the family be the most affected by Ayla being found?

Jeez....Justin and his "This isn't the right time" carp! LE said to talk to the public. But JD knows best, right? JD and his "I know everything" attitude! How's that working for him? Has Ayla come home? THAT (finding Ayla) is the MOST important issue here!

I believe that ED made that baby disappear and JD feels that since he didn't "do it" he has nothing to worry about. I find it hard to believe that the police know they are lying but have chosen to do nothing about it. Last I heard, eluding, hampering, and lying are all "convictable" offenses.... the police arrest people everyday for these charges, if the DiPetros have been caught in a lie-then they could be charged. My friend who is chief of police told me, there are laws for everything, if a cop wants to charge you, trust me, he will find the law.

I used to watch my brother's baby girl for him sometimes. If i had killed her, accidentally even, I cannot imagine him covering for me. I think he would want to kill me himself. He would never cover it up and make himself look like a suspect in her killing in order to cover for me, imo. It just seems so odd that Justin would cover for her.

I feel the difference is that your brother wanted his child. There is no doubt in my mind that after a few weeks of full time Ayla, JD wasn't entirely upset.
I also don't think her disappearance happened the date the DiPetros wan't to portray.

EXCELLENT comments in the article posted above.

Okay, my question is about the blood evidence found the baseement. Why didn't Justin or his friends explain in the interview how Ayla's blood in the amount "more than what a cut would produce" ended up in the basement of the DiPietro home?

The Tudelas’ home — a large, newly built neo-Victorian — sits on a partially wooded hilltop with sweeping views of the Kennebec River valley.

http://www.onlinesentinel.com/news/Father-friends-say-its-possible-cops-say-no-way.html

Interesting details in that article. Does anyone else think that more searches should be done in the Tudela's neighborhood? They are clearly putting themselves out on a limb for some reason - the insurance of course, but there could be other reasons since they insist that Justin has turned to them in the past. Maybe he turned to them before he went to the police?

Surely LE is on that after all these articles. ;)

Also, the bottom line for me is that Justin and his family are nothing like the Smart family in Utah. That family went out searching on horseback in the mountains day after day. Ed and Mrs. Smart appeared in front of the cameras, even when public opinion was against them, even when their computers had been seized by LE and family members were POIs, even when it appeared there was no hope. Especially when there was no hope.

The DiPietros - not so much - weeks go by and all we get are the Tudelas and the blogger bunch trying to cast blame on Trista. Nothing like that happened with the Smarts.
