It was her grandmothers house. Ayla and her father were living in the basement. I live about 15 minutes from where this took place and I am worried because police found blood stains in the basement and I am pretty sure they said it was Ayla's. She already had a cast, I guess the neighbors heard their dog barking like crazy around 3am but didn't check to see why. Ayla's dad's girlfriend and her young child was spending the night (the two children were in same room), yet Ayla was only one taken? On the other hand, mother just gets out of rehab, who knows what kind of "friends" she made, and there was a custody battle. This would be a way for mom to make dad look unfit. It is hard to say. People are crazy nowadays.

The case of Ayla Reynolds — which drew national attention as hundreds of searchers looked for her last December in the central Maine town of Waterville — is one of them. And a year later, her family fears that the case is growing cold as they await answers from detectives about what happened to her.

Sadly, the detectives don't HAVE the answers, but I think we kinda know who DOES.
