Is the problem a matter of being able to prove the "who"? Because clearly, Ayla met her death there in the house at the hands of someone who was living/staying there, IMO. Do they fear an acquittal for the father, for instance, if the defense brings up the girlfriend as a possible suspect?
But aren't they both responsible anyway, since the other did not alert police?
It seems there is more evidence than in most cases, even with a body, IMO.

That's what I've been thinking. LE is probably waiting for one of the women to talk, which is why LE wanted them to see the pictures - thinking, maybe, that the sight of Ayla's blood would stir up memories for them of that horrific night and sympathy for Ayla because of what she suffered.
Obviously, Ayla was brutalized by someone in the DiPietro household. If an intruder entered the house and injured Ayla to that extent before removing her from the home, why would any of the residents attempt to conceal the blood? Of course, had they been innocent, they would have pointed the blood out to police. And if an intruder/abductor injured Ayla, how would her blood get in Justin's truck? The truck was never missing.
Jerice Hunter is being tried for the death of her daughter, Jhessye Shockley, whose body was never found. There was forensic evidence in the home that made investigators confident that Jhessye was no longer alive, but LE also have witnesses (Jhessye's siblings) to corroborate the physical evidence. The siblings started talking after they were removed from Jerice's custody. In this case, LE seems confident by the forensic evidence that Ayla is no longer alive, but the witnesses aren't talking :silenced:.
I don't know how the women who were present that night can keep silent. Where is their motherly instinct? If they witnessed Ayla being battered, heard her cries of anguish and saw the bloodshed throughout the house, they must be cold-hearted, insensate creatures to not even care. It makes me sick just to imagine what Ayla must have suffered! I think they should both have their children taken away from them because they're not fit to be mothers. They should be arrested and charged with child neglect, complicity, child endangerment, and abetting a criminal at the least. Justin is most likely the killer and should be charged with murder since Ayla's blood was found in his bed, in his truck and on his shoes. If he's not the one who delivered the blows that killed Ayla, maybe he would start talking about what really happened.
I wonder if the argument between Justin & CR, leading to domestic violence and assault charges against Justin, had anything to do with Ayla's murder. Reports have said that it's unrelated, but neither one would probably admit it had to do with Ayla. Though, Ayla wouldn't even have to be mentioned if CR decided to leave Justin and he was afraid she would talk. Knowing now his penchant for violence, it's very possible Justin has threatened the women with violence if they do decide to talk about what happened to Ayla. Also, I believe PD knows more about what happened to Ayla but will never admit it. I don't know is she's just protective of her son or if she feels intimidated by him, too.
Here is an article I don't remember seeing posted here:
http://www.onlinesentinel.com/news/Justin-DiPietro-skips-court-date-warrant-out-for-his-arrest.html
Justin was almost arrested again for arriving at his July 6 court hearing late. Justin insists he arrived at 8:30 a.m., when he was scheduled, but the court clerk states he didn't arrive until 10 a.m. That incident illustrates that JD is a compulsive liar. I've known people like that - who are comfortable with lying and try to intimidate others into accepting their lies as fact. I wish someone - especially CR - had spoken up about Ayla while Justin was in jail. I think LE is looking for every chance to arrest JD to create opportunity for the women to step forward on Ayla's behalf. Sadly, it's not working so far.:notgood:
