Oh, I am SURE---this creep is not only psychotic, but pure evil as well.

As if shooting 4 people to death isn't bad enough----then he DISMEMBERS them??? WTF?!

Scary. Very scary, indeed. The more I read about the atrocious crimes committed in the world today, the more I am convinced that women need to arm themselves. I don't know if that would've helped these victims, but I am sure there are many victims who could've been helped if they had protection in the form of a weapon.

FYI--I really do think my fellow WS women should consider arming themselves if they don't already. You never know who you're going to run into. If you aren't comfortable with an actual gun, maybe consider a stun gun.

There are stun guns you can purchase through reputable companies on the net and they are very affordable. Some even look like cell phones---no one is ever the wiser that it's not an actual cell phone. A stun gun will only temporarily disable an attacker, but it'll give you that much needed window of opportunity to escape danger, and possibly save your life.

I couldn't agree with you more. Women leave stores and walk out into the parking lot by themselves. Having some type of gun in their hand as they walk could save their life. Think Dru. It may not have helped her as she was talking on her cell phone and unaware of the danger but if she hadn't been on the cell phone and had been aware of her surroundings AND had a gun or stun gun in her hand ready to shoot she would probably be alive today.

I really believe that it has come to that now days. So many women missing that might have been saved. I have a small gun but never carry it. I think I'll just slip it in my purse from now on. I'm not going to get a permit though. They cost an arm and a leg. I just won't let anyone know that I carry it unless I have to use it!

Murder suspect moved after attack on inmate
September 10, 2006
The Associated Press

PARIS, Maine — Christian Nielsen, who is charged with murdering and mutilating four people in a Labor Day weekend killing spree, has been moved from the Oxford County Jail after he allegedly attacked a fellow inmate.

Nielsen, 31, grabbed a mop wringer out of a bucket and struck another inmate on the back of his head Friday afternoon in a room at the jail where inmates were mopping the floor, said Oxford County Jail Administrator Ernest Martin.

"It was an unprovoked attack," Martin told the Sun Journal of Lewiston. "It was quite serious, even though the inmate that was assaulted wasn't injured badly. It could have been a very serious injury."

The other inmate, 22-year-old Ryan Brown of Conway, N.H., collapsed to the floor before getting to his feet and retreating to his room, Martin said. Nielsen tried to follow Brown but slipped and fell on the wet floor, where he was subdued by guards, he said.

Nielsen was then taken to the Cumberland County Jail in Portland, where he can be segregated from other prisoners.

A restaurant cook was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for killing and dismembering four people during a Labor Day weekend murder spree in western Maine last year...

Nielsen, 32, pleaded guilty to four counts of murder last week...

According to a sentencing memorandum filed by prosecutors Monday, Nielsen had no specific motive but told investigators he had been obsessed with thoughts of killing someone for several years and had wanted to take over the lodge.
