Curious to know if they are able to get a clear look at her on the video. How is she acting, in she in front, behind or beside him entering Walmart? How was she looking? And the kid? And him?

From the article linked below:

"Nicholas Hansen’s sister, Kris Martin, said she hasn’t heard from Hansen in about three years, not even last August, when their other brother died of a drug overdose, she said."
“He’s had a rough life. I mean, we all did,” Martin, 44, said in an interview. “He’s just kind of lived his life not taking care of himself.” [Note: not sure whether she is referring to Nicholas here, or the brother who died of a drug overdose]
"When Martin learned over the weekend that her brother had disappeared with his daughter and former girlfriend, she was immediately concerned."

  • Ron also said that Nick had been arrested twice over domestic disputes in the couple's two-year relationship and had 'punch' Jill in the face
  • He also said Nick broke into his house one day and went after Jill's fiancé Corey Alexander with a 'drywall hammer'
  • He worries Nick will harm them, but said he does not know if the alleged abuser would kill them. He also said he believes she was 'taken against her will'

Could it be a case of Stockholm Syndrome or that she's playing along because he may have threatened her, their daughter, her son, or others in her family?

MOO.

IMO it is helpful to remember that there are so many shades of voluntariness, particularly for women and especially for women who share a child with an abusive ex-boyfriend. There's so much in between voluntary "woo hoo let's go!" and, say, being involuntarily physically dragged into a vehicle.

Was just looking this morning, and haven't seen any.

At this point, it seems clear to me this isn't just a spur-of-the-moment camping trip.

I don't know what to think about this. It's so strange. I hope everyone is safe.

I hope they are located and found unharmed.

I'm guessing they'll turn up, one way or another, over the next week. My copy and paste is broken but there have been some local press reports on this lately. I'm not sure how active LE is on this one for various reasons so I think it will hinge mostly on the general public and some family/friends/organized groups to bring them out of the woodwork. I did read that a group was contacting local stores (this area of Maine seems to thrive on locally owned general stores) to hang flyers which I think will help. If they continue to travel as a threesome and if Jill still has the nose ring look, I think they will be easily identified. Of course if they walk into a store and see their photos, they might just do a 180 depending on what's going on here and who is making the decisions.

Maybe Jill and/or Nicholas received their $850 Maine Relief/Economic stimulus check and that is allowing them to stay on the road for a few weeks.

Any words on what she brought for the child on the trip?

Sidebotham said he is aware that some people might be thinking his daughter just wants to get away for a while — that she might not want to be found, as it is sometimes said in these circumstances. He said he knows his daughter and is certain that is not the case. Jill would never leave indefinitely and not stay in touch with her family, he said.

“This is not something Jill would do to anyone, especially her son,” Sidebotham said.

Sidebotham said Jill and Hansen had a relationship that ended about 10 years ago.

Jill and Lydia live with the Sidebothams. Sidebotham said Hansen had showed up at their home twice in the few weeks leading up to Jill and Lydia’s disappearance, and those instances had been the first time they had seen him in “probably at least a year.”

“It’s overwhelming, the amount of help we’re getting,” he said.

“I wish we knew what to do next,” he said.

Their relationship could not have ended 10 years ago if he is the little one's father. I'm so confused.

"The criminal investigation division of the Sanford Police Department is trying to locate Jill, Lydia, and Hansen. The department has been posting updates of its investigation and is asking statewide for the public’s help."

I find it interesting they are using the criminal division. Especially since LE feels: "At this time, we are attempting to locate them to check their well-being,” the department posted on July 8. “We have no indication the family is in danger, but out of caution, we would like to confirm this and advise them of the extended family’s concerns.”

In the article linked up above it says that
those instances where the ex showed up had been the first time they had seen him in “probably at least a year.”

Somewhere 4 years ago they must of had a short term reconciliation because she became pregnant with Lydia.
