Found Safe ME - Jill Sidebotham, 28, Nicholas Hansen, 38, Lydia Hansen, 2, Camping in Phillips area, overdue from trip, Sanford, 3 July 2022

  • #81

"AN EX-LOVER - who went missing with a mom and their toddler - allegedly attacked the mom's current fiancé with a knife 2021, according to interviews and police documents obtained by The Sun.

Nicholas Hansen, 38, Jill Sidebotham, 28, and their two-year-old daughter Lydia seemingly vanished after they supposedly left for a camping trip on June 27.

...

But a previous violent altercation between Hansen and Ms Sidebotham's fiancé of nearly two years - Corey Alexander - has family members concerned.

On April 12, 2021, officers and at least one ambulance responded to a call to a 911 call at their home, according to the police call documents obtained by The Sun in a public records request.

Details of the incident were redacted and couldn't be released because the case hasn't been heard in court, which is backlogged because of the pandemic, Gagne said.

But the report shows Hansen was charged with aggravated assault with a knife/cutting instrument and domestic violence assault, among others.

Alexander, 31, claimed in an interview last week that he was attacked by Hansen and weapons were involved.

Hansen's friend gave a similar description of the incident in a separate interview with The Sun.

Oh! I don’t even want to guess! Is it a concealed state?

I don’t see much up his shirt but I can see a shape I suppose.
I’m confused as to how that is apparently Walmart in the background, though.

That is not Wal-Mart, I think it is video at the Coos Canyon Campground on June 29. (From the link up above).

This child looks very unhappy. And look at the veins in his neck. moo ...I'm still concerned about what's under his shirt in the back.
Ugh!

In the article you linked, in the second photo, it's not just the veins in his neck but also his arm where/how he's gripping LH.

Signs point to a lot of anger. (Like you already mentioned.)

MOO.

This is very local to me, and lots of local folks (even several towns over) are talking about this, so that is good, especially since Sanford isn't the greatest area. There are lots of drugs and homeless, so locals and police don't always take these kinds of missing person cases seriously. I think in the beginning, LE was more dismissive, but I am happy to see it looks like they are actively searching, probably because a small child is involved. I really hope they find them held up in the woods somewhere, but with the details we have, most of us know how these cases end up. It seems possible there is hope, though, if they can be found sooner than later. If this drags out with no more sightings, I don't think it will have a happy ending.

"Sanford police said they are working with other police around the state in the search and now have used fixed-wing aircraft operated by the Maine Warden Service to search for their vehicle near Rangeley and Mexico, where it is believed the three were camping. Police have also said they may have been camping near the Franklin County town of Phillips, where Nicholas Hansen is from."

When people go missing with their car and cell phones go quiet, I'm alway concerned that they've had an accident that sent the car into water or down a ravine or some other place where it's hard to find. I hope they're just camping and enjoying themselves...

Maine is a concealed carry state. Yikes!

Marking my spot.

I don't think Jill is missing voluntarily. Why would they go radio silent? She has another child and it appears she's very close to her family. I am also questioning the WalMart trip, was it really them?
@bestill I have never thought she left voluntarily either. Sounds like she had a son as she dearly cared about.

She left voluntarily according to her mother, who tried to talk her out of going. However what has happened since then is anybody"s guess.

People who are violent and criminals do not pay attention to concealed carry laws or gun laws.

Aircraft with the Maine Warden Service has been checking the Rangeley and Mexico areas in search of the couple's vehicle and detectives traveled to Mexico to follow up with leads and to verify surveillance footage from the Walmart sighting.

Police said they have been able to verify that the couple and their daughter were at the Coos Canyon Campground in Byron on June 19, and released four surveillance images from that location Monday.

This is so true.
Yet, it does make it all the more easier for abductors to control the abductees...
