It would probably be easy to ditch it deep in the woods somewhere or maybe in a friend's barn or garage...... so many rural areas and I doubt it's currently being driven, but yes they've really been no leads for a month now :(

I wonder whether they ran into an accident of some kind? Or more likely just kept driving and are thousands of miles away now, maybe even went into Canada?

Did they all have passports? You can't simply just come to Canada.

Surely there must be backroads. That’s a lot of boarder.

I know when we vacationed at my grandmothers in Canada we used backroads to get into Vermont to buy cold beer - but that was over 40 years ago.

Unfortunately, in Canada you still need money to buy food, gas, a place to shower. And US bank account or credit card transactions are visible to LE monitoring your financials back home. And you can't get money under the table by doing a bit of logging or fishing on the side, you need to fill out paperwork to get a permit or get a job, and it all starts with a Canadian drivers license or social insurance number which requires a birth certificate, and rents are sky high, and the landlord wants your id and a cheque as deposit...no, not an escape.

Unfortunately, I don't have the feeling that they're all driving around together seeing how many state license plates they can see and stopping at McDonalds drive thru's for lunch. I think at this rate it's much much more bleak.

No updates. But, stopped for gas today (southern Maine, Gorham area...) and Lydia's picture was featured on the gas pump TV from Center Missing and Exploited Children. Poor little one.

Just checking in ... cannot believe these three have not been found! Where could they possibly be? If they are alive they have to be buying gas, food and diapers! I can't imagine the trauma for her family, especially her son :( MOO

I'm very curious about how this camping trip came about. Did he threaten her in some way to coerce her into going? She thought she could control the situation, going along to get along, so she told her mom, "it'll be fine"?

It's been too long. If they did go camping, and there is nothing to be suspicious about, this is still an awfully long time to be camping or off grid entirely.

I think the whole thing is suspicious given his history, but MOO.

ETA: Not ruling out some kind of car accident, but that's low on my list.

The timing is important. If she made a sudden phone call to announce she would immediately be going on an out of the blue trip, then I could imagine him standing there, forcing her to make that call.

Domestic abusers have a plethora of methods to terrorise their victim's into compliance, especially when there is a child in the picture. So that Hansen did not drag Jill and her daughter kicking and screaming out of the house, does not mean Jill went with him willingly. I am pretty sure she did not.

Especially if that’s a gun in his shirt in some of the photos. He could’ve shown up and said do what I say and follow my lead or I kill Lydia.

IMO that’s the only way this has played out for this long. IMO it took a ridiculous amount of time for the authorities to listen to the families concerns and act accordingly.

I’ve been thinking about that. I have a feeling they’ve known from the beginning that this is serious. He is facing current charges against her fiancé. This occurred right after a restraining order expired. He apparently lost his parental rights to Lydia.

He lost his other kids due to his instability.

I think LE knows exactly what they’re working with here and have a strategy.

Well then, they sure are playing this one close to their chests!

I can't imagine after this length of time (over a month) that they'll be found alive.

Question is, do you think he killed himself as well? Are we looking at murder-suicide here? Or is he just laying very low and hiding up somewhere....?

Was there ever a report of him hurting children?
