A gun was found in his vehicle. Which is why I think the guy is still alive and there is a possibility someone is helping him evade capture.

I, too, have a feeling that he is alive. Which makes these murders planned, and premeditated.

ETA: I didn't read the full news.

Relieved for the people there !
Was sort of hoping he'd be taken alive, and have to spend his remaining days in a little cell.

What a horrible waste of innocent life.
This could have been prevented by his being committed, but at the core of it he could have chosen to not make this deadly decision.

If he'd been successful at getting help , maybe he'd be in a mental health facility today ?
Yes he could have made more of an effort himself -- I think after his previous actions and threats he should've been 5150'd, but if he refused, then what ?
So many what if's.

Wonder if they found him in the river ?
Omo.

Just so beyond horrible. I am just so glad this hunt did not continue for weeks.

Coward should have done himself first.

He died hours after. Standard for his psychology.

Major kudos to those who risked their own lives to find him

From the article
“Card was found in the woods near Lisbon, which is about eight miles from Lewiston, the same three sources said. He was found in an area near the recycling center from which he had been recently fired, a law enforcement source told CNN’s John Miller.”

News conference at 10 pm

He sure fits the description of a domestic terrorist!

At the recycling plant, where he used to work per CNN

How far is the recycling plant from where his car was found?

You nailed it.

ETA: by which I mean, earlier today you said you would eat your hat if he wasn’t already dead. You’re too good at this @MassGuy.

I'm so relieved.

How did they not rule out all the places he has known to have gone? I'm assuming he killed himself shortly after.

Was the recycling plant closed because of the Shelter in Place request? If so, LE may have prevented another mass murder. Very impressed with the multi-agency LE search for this killer.
