LE may have more info than they released...maybe a video of her car. I guess the wait for tox results will be long ( though why it takes so long is beyond me...).
If she was disoriented, she may have hit the gas instead of brakes, whether drugged or not.

I wondered that as well. I'm hopeful that toxicology and autopsy will reveal more details.

I don't think that's possible. In my country there has been a few cases of people drowning in cars after falling off the road, and all the time all the specialist were saying that even a normal, sober adult has really small amount of time to get out of the car before it submerges. She would not have time to make a call and talk to somebody only about getting lost and being cold.

Besides, I can't personally believe that she would be THIS disoriented (to a point where she doesn't notice she has fallen off the road and is sinking, but still being able to call her mother to inform her she got lost).

What a sad case! I wonder why Sarah's intoxication level was so high? She was working at the bar and not visiting it as a patron...

Amphetamines could be Adderall or similar, which could have made her feel less intoxicated than she actually was, leading to more drinking.

I don’t get heart-broken when these kind of details come out: “had a 0.21% BAC level, with presence of marijuana and amphetamines”. I get pissed that someone chose to get behind a wheel- that others allowed her to- endangering God knows how many others. Damn lucky no one else was killed. Jmo.

I’ll never go so far as to say someone “deserved it” or “asked for it”. And I do extend condolences to her fam. But when will people learn? I hope the bar is investigated & possibly charged/fined. I doubt that all the usage happened after work. Jmo

I feel the same way. It's not like they don't know what the consequences could be. The only thing I can think of, is someone spiked her drink. I hope they've looked at all cameras in the bar, if any, or any outside that could have indicated foul play.

I'm a Mainer who was able to join the search party when this happened. At the time, the circumstances seemed really sketchy, as patrons were reporting being served by Sarah and that she seemed completely alert. I guess I am just saddened by the events and that her BAC was that high, that's really what I meant by heartbreaking. I agree that if she became intoxicated on her own, she is responsible for her actions, and that if that is the case, her family is lucky that no one else was involved or injured. If she was not responsible somehow for her own intoxication, I hope that justice is served.
