PORTLAND (WGME) -- Family members and Portland police are searching for a Portland man who did not return home Friday night after leaving the central Maine town of Unity.
Elena Kirillova, the wife of Tanner Smith, alerted police and the public Saturday after Smith failed to arrive home. She said she spoke with Smith around 3:30 p.m. Friday, filed a missing person report with police and has shared pictures of Smith online, with police and the media in an effort to boost the search.
Smith is described as five feet, 10 or 11 inches tall, 225 pounds and wearing a gray sweatshirt, brown leather boots, a dark beanie or baseball hat and likely cargo pants.
He is driving a Bbue 2006 Toyota Scion xA with MOAC, AMC, and WMPG stickers on the back. The license plate number is 9004WA.
Anyone with information on Smith is asked to contact Portland police at 874-8575.
