ME ME - Tina Stadig, 40, Skowhegan, 28 May 2017

  • #21
Tina’s sister, Tonia Stadig, said in a message Tuesday to the Morning Sentinel that she knows who lives at the home where police were searching and she suspects the man who lives there might have had something to do with her sister’s disappearance.

“He lives out in the woods you can’t see his house or his junk yard from the road,” Tonia Stadig said in the message.

A small, vacant house with missing doors and windows and a yard full of junk are visible from the roadside, with the primary residence farther back along a dirt driveway, which in recent months was barricaded with lengths of sticks and small trees. Earlier, there also was a hand-scrawled sign warning passers-by that the resident was “the guy with the pit bulls.” The sign was gone on Tuesday. A fallen “No Trespassing” sign lay by the side of the driveway.

The property is about 2.5 miles north of downtown Skowhegan on Route 150, which leads to Cornville and Athens, near Hilton Hill, a small stream and the Cornville town line.

That's what I was wondering , too, Henry2326: what sent them there and why now? Did they get a tip? I hope she's found alive.
It doesn't sound good, Alleykins... :(

I know, but I will still continue to look for her once I get back to work, if she's not found in the meantime.

An investigator with the Maine State Police is seen Wednesday inside a run-down home off Route 150 in Skowhegan. Police searched the building and a nearby mobile home Tuesday. Investigators were seen poring over debris and junk in and around an abandoned house near the roadside at the property, about 2.5 to 3 miles from downtown Skowhegan. The primary residence is at the back of the property and is the home of a man who police say was known to Stadig, and she occasionally stayed there. Investigators took photographs of items in and around the abandoned house.

The last known sighting of Tina Stadig, 40, occurred on May 28 in Skowhegan. She reportedly was seen July 10 at the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter by a case manager at the shelter and might be using the name of her sister, Tammy, or Jen, a fake name.

State police investigators resume search Tuesday for missing Skowhegan woman

On Tuesday, investigators from State Police Major Crimes Unit were back at the Route 150 property, this time with an excavator, an evidence response team truck and personnel from the Department of Transportation who are assisting police with ground work at the scene, Detective Sgt. Jason Richards said at the scene.

“We’re back here continuing to clear this property. We’ve been looking for Tina Stadig. She’s been missing since last summer,” Richards said in a roadside interview. “This is the last place we’ve been able to confirm a sighting of her. There have been other sightings, but nothing that has been confirmed. It’s a fairly expansive piece of property.”

I've been keeping an eye out for her in my area, but it sounds like the sightings of her being at our local shelter aren't confirmed. I will still look & hope she is found.

can't believe it has been over a year. Where are you Tina, it's worrying that has not been any sighting of her since last year.

I'm not sure, but according to what I've read, she was spotted in the beginning of her disappearance in the homeless shelter here.

I wonder if Bangor LE asked the homeless community any questions? To acquire drugs she had to know somebody.

I'm not sure to what extent BPD is involved, but the homeless shelter is right across the street from the station.
