Wiley Davi, 57, who lives on Peaks Island, was last known to be on the island, which is off the coast of Portland, on Saturday evening, according to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

More at Bentley professor missing on Maine island

Maine game wardens have concentrated on searching the trails and wooded areas of Peaks Island, while members of the Marine Patrol have been searching the surrounding waters of Casco Bay.

Wiley's former (and perhaps "legal" name) is Angelique Davis - which they have used in writing for "Radical Teacher". I am not sure I can link the literary publication as it's not msm but they wrote an article with that name in Issue No. 77 in 2006. in which they write about specific experiences they have had "as transgender". They have used the name "Wiley" professionally since at least 2015 (perhaps earlier) when they were on the Advisory Board at the 8th International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation was held in Seville (Spain). ICERI Past Editions - 2015

I hope LE is checking the ferry system CCTV (if it exists) as Wiley may have left the island, and just not informed anyone.

I found an obituary from 2012 for Wiley's father and they are named as Wiley in the obit as well. Good find on the writing under the name Angelique Davi! I am hoping that LE is checking into ferries and flights out as well. It appears that Wiley has family in Florida and that they travel somewhat frequently. I hope they are found safe.

I’m not sure I can link it, but Bentley University has posted a tribute to Wiley on Facebook and people are leaving messages, which very much sound like a memorial, but I can’t find any further information. Seems quite odd when LE is still searching.

ETA: But the messages are so lovely. This is obviously someone much loved by the community. I hope Wiley gets to read those messages and see how loved they are.

I had another look for MSM and official social media updates on the search for Wiley and there is nothing new.

Reading between the lines, sadly, it looks like the community knows that Wiley is not coming home alive. JMO. It just really reminds me how much we all need to tell the people in our lives how truly incredible we think they are because you never know how much someone might really need to hear it.

It is a very difficult time for trans people. Praying that Wiley is found safe.

Yes, for privacy msm has not reported on the specific details but they are out there, and indicate better what likely occurred.
