The move came after the defense added a pair of psychiatrists to its witness list to rebut allegations that Casey's failure to report her daughter missing for a month showed her so-called consciousness of guilt.

The judge will hear arguments on the motion next Friday as well as several motions on evidence in the case, including plant growth near Caylee's remains, a stain in Anthony's trunk and cadaver dogs.

Casey Anthony trial start date changed to Tuesday May 17, 2011

ORLANDO --Casey Anthony trial is being delayed by one day.

Judge Perry announced some key decisions about what's going to happen between now and the start of Casey's trial.

On May 9 the lawyers, the judge and the media will be in a yet-to-be-announced Florida county where jury selection in this case will begin.

Perry will give five days for both sides to try and agree on 12 jurors and eight alternates. If that doesn't happen, Perry said everyone will come back to Orange County for round two.

If that doesn't work. they'll try and pick a jury in Orange County.

The judge also decided status hearings will now become weekly hearings.

Attorneys on both sides of the murder case made closing arguments in a long and heated battle over scientific evidence, and just how "scientific" it all really is.

Baez was essentially picking apart the state's expert instead of the science, itself.

Friday's hearing got heated, Judge Perry has tried to keep a tight leash on attorneys, again scolding them for talking over each other.

What Would It Take For Casey To Get Acquitted?

Updated: 5:20 pm EDT April 11, 2011

ORLANDO, Fla. --Casey Anthony will be tried for allegedly murdering her 2-yr-old daughter Caylee in less than a month. WFTV reporter Kathi Belich sat down with legal expert Bill Sheaffer to look at the top four possible defense strategies.
One of them would be that Caylee's death was an accident.
The defense could also try the "George did it" defense, tie it to Casey's insinuations that her father sexually abused her as a child and that PTSD explains her reaction.

Sheaffer says every one of the four strategies would be a tough sell for Casey.

Chief Judge Belvin Perry Jr. has been a respected jurist in Central Florida for decades he's about to get a lot of attention as the judge in the Casey Anthony trial.

JBP, "Put it this way: I virtually have no life," Perry said. "Between this, between going to Tallahassee and my administrative responsibilities in running the third largest circuit in the state of Florida, I stay pretty busy."

Next month, when that trial begins, everyone will see how Perry presides over the high-profile case in an era of information and immediacy.

Why Casey Anthony team may have tough time finding unbiased jury
"Snip" By Adam Longo, Reporter

ORLANDO -- Twelve jurors will decide two things at Casey Anthony's trial:

Guilty or not guilty?

Life or death?

But according to some experts, Casey's lawyers may have a tough time finding an impartial jury.

"The problem is studies have shown that death-qualified juries are more likely to convict in the guilt phase, where the jury determines innocence or guilt," said David Fussell, an Orlando defense attorney who has experience choosing death-qualified juries.

According to studies, the majority of Casey Anthony's jury will likely be white men. Those studies showed minorities and women tend to be excluded from death-qualified juries.

What Did Casey Tell Psychiatrists?
Prosecutors Ask Any Mention Of Information Be Kept Out Of Court
POSTED: 5:11 pm EDT April 13, 2011

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors are so concerned about what murder suspect Casey Anthony told a pair of defense psychiatrists, they don't want the issue being discussed at all, not even at a pretrial hearing.

A hearing is scheduled for Friday in the case regarding use of the experts.
In a new motion filed Wednesday afternoon [April 13, 2011] , prosecutors said they are concerned about the potential impact of the revelations if they are made public during Friday's court hearing. They're asking Judge Belvin Perry to make sure that doesn't happen.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Lawyers who are currently and have previously been involved with the Casey Anthony case are speaking out for the "48 Hours Mystery" scheduled to air Saturday April 16. night on CBS.

Former defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden told "48 Hours" that Anthony is a liar. Baden left the team after two years due to travel costs.

Baden said Anthony manufactured the story about a nanny taking Caylee.

"She lied. Sure, I think everyone knows that that was a lie. Her actions have been her own worst enemy," Baden said.

Burdick said that the defense withdrew Danzinger as a potential witness
"Snip" http://www.wesh.com/casey-anthony-extended-coverage/27548107/detail.html

Potentially, the depositions could be sealed so that no one, not even prosecution experts, could see what Weitz and Danzinger said under oath about Anthony's statements. The state wants permission to show the information to select individuals, likely its own experts.

Judge Belvin Perry has been mum on the issue so far, only saying that he could be made available should any matters need to be addressed in the court. His silence in the case file comes despite a motion from prosecutor Jeff Ashton that asked that the content of the experts' testimony not even be brought up in open court during a hearing tomorrow.

Friday's hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.

WESH.com will stream the hearing live.
