Confirmed -- Casey’s First Reactions To Remains Were Recorded
Saturday, February 21, 2009 6:37:42 AM
<snipped>
ORLANDO -- Casey Anthony's lawyer Jose Baez is angered after learning the Orange County Sheriff's Office confirms they do have videotape of Casey's emotions the day her daughter's remains were found.
Published reports have said that Casey was purposely shown news coverage Dec. 11, the day a meter reader found 2-year old Caylee's remains near the family's home.
Deputies said they have that tape but have not turned it over to the State Attorney's Office.

A Glimpse Inside Casey Anthony's Mind
<snipped>
It's been widely reported how Casey Anthony, the 22 year old Florida mother who has been charged with the murder of two year old daughter Caylee Anthony, was scene living it up in bars and clubs, swinging on poles, and being a ham for the camera all the while her daughter Caylee was missing. Those images, forever etched in the mind of anyone remotely following the case, do not appear to show a mother who is grieving for her child. However, looks can be deceiving. So what was going through Casey Anthony's mind during the time her precious baby was missing and ultimately when the remains of her daughter were found, double bagged and discarded like trash in a wooded area just houses away from the family home?

Under the U.S. Constitution, Casey Anthony is presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in The Court of Popular Opinion, she's already been convicted.

New Discovery Documents Released in Casey Anthony Murder Case
February 20, 2009

<snipped>
Some of the similarities are as follows:

A white canvas laundry bag found at the site with the remains exactly matches the brand of one taken from the Anthony home.

A pull-up diaper found at the crime scene matched one found inside the Anthony home during the search.

The serial number from a shirt worn by little Caylee, located in the Anthony home, matched the serial number of a shirt who's collar was found at the crime scene.

Duct tape found wrapped around the tiny skull of Caylee's remains matched duct tape retrieved from a gas can located in the Anthony garage.

The backing of a heart shaped sticker was also found in the Anthony home that closely resembled the heart-shaped sticker strategically placed on the duct tape what was found across Caylee's mouth.

Black trash bags with yellow handles that matched the bags found at the crime scene were also removed from the Anthony home during the search.

Caylee Anthony Vs. Casey Anthony: Dissecting Documents Released
Finding the Nook and Hook, Pt. 1
<snipped>
The bottle that you may have heard of found near the crime scene was that of a Gatorade bottle, not the beer bottle (evidence Art #8, H-60518). The beer bottle was found at 2:34 p.m. as the date of this document was December 11, 2008. The beer bottle ads little in concern since it was old without a label. What else was next to the location of the skull finding? Inside a Walt Disney bag was a Gatorade "Cool Blue" bottle with unknown liquid with white substance in the bottle. This would be the bottle in concern. The reports state that this could have been a cardboard toilet paper roll. Inside of the roll was an additional finding. The document shares that it could be of a syringe. Near this pile of evidence was one knotted plastic bag. Other things that I have found to be odd would be these next pieces to Casey Anthony's unbalanced puzzle.

America searches the evidence trying to find that needle in the haystack that makes a perfect detective while Casey Attorney's response over the investigation seemed somewhat childish with little to say as he down-graded the science behind this case.
As for the nook and hook, my well runs dry thus far. However the information behind a possible syringe is quite disturbing. It would be interesting to find out just what substance once was inside of that syringe and if any bodily fluids would connect Casey Anthony to that syringe. Stay tuned for Pt. 2.

Mommy Dearest
Sociopath Mothers Who Kill
Posted: Monday, February 23, 2009
Updated: February 20th, 2009 11:07 AM GMT-05:00
<snipped>
Let me say at the outset that Casey Anthony, who in jail for the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony, is presumed innocent until a jury finds her guilty. However, the circumstantial evidence in the case and public opinion, thanks mainly to media coverage of the case, all point to her being responsible for the child's death whether intentional or accidental. Anthony herself has done nothing to aid the Orange County Sheriff's Office in its investigation to find the child. Her lies and fabricated stories have wasted valuable time; time that is critical in an apparent abduction case.

Forensic Psychology
Forensic Psychology is defined as the study of psychology as applied to legal cases in the court. The forensic Psychologist is usually called upon by the court to evaluate a defendant's sanity or insanity at the time of the offense. This is relevant to the question of criminal responsibility. In addition the forensic psychologist may be called upon to render a decision on the general state of mind of a defendant. These are not primarily questions of a psychological nature but rather questions of a legal nature. A forensic psychologist must be able to readily translate psychological observations into the legal framework of a particular case.

The Mind of the Sociopath
"It's a crazy thing to do, but crazy describes the behavior, not the mind," Fox said and then added that between 300 and 350 children have been parental homicide victims in 2008.
The Child is Found
Casey Anthony will undoubtedly go thru her murder trial without saying a word or sharing even the smallest detail about what actually happen to her daughter. If found guilty and the death sentence is imposed (permissible under Florida law) she will go to her grave most likely feeling that she has put one over on law enforcement, her family and the public. Holding those secrets to herself allows her to feel that she is better than anyone else and that she has had ultimate control over everyone.

Casey Anthony: Profile Of A Sociopath
Written by Dr. Juliann Mitchell, PhD
Published October 19, 2008
<snipped>
In reality, Casey believes she is above the law. She presents herself as a mother who is only interested in finding her child. Yet she has done nothing but lie to the police and fabricate stories.

It is typical for sociopaths to engage in illegal or deceitful behaviors. Compulsive lying is the norm. Guilt and remorse are not in their vocabulary. All sociopaths are incapable of feeling sorrow or sadness for their wrongdoings and destructive behaviors. Any tears you might see are for themselves. “I am crying because I got caught, not because I am sorry for anything I have said or done.” On some level, a sociopath takes perverse pleasure in getting away with illegal, irresponsible behaviors. Yes, a sociopath takes great joy in taking from others. "Joy" is the correct word.
To a sociopath, others are always expendable: family, friends, acquaintances. Once others have been bled dry, the sociopath moves on. Loyalty is not a part of who they are. They have no desire to change and no insight into their own behaviors and motivations. Caylee is missing, but Mom is partying and lying to both her friends and family about her daughter’s whereabouts.

Sociopaths are narcissistic and exhibitionistic, with no sense of shame. Nothing exists in their world but what they want - the ultimate “Me, Me, Me” syndrome. They are characterized by an excessive superficiality, in both thoughts and behaviors. They are easily bored and made restless by day-to-day responsibilities, an attitude which makes consistent parenting a drag and an impossibility. Sociopaths create their own reality, and in this instance, Casey’s world did not include her daughter.
Sociopaths are incapable of remaining in love, or of even selflessly loving anyone. Their sex lives are most often impersonal and chaotic, and frequently they are bisexual. There is in them an emptiness, a coldness, a disconnection from others and themselves. Casey is incapable of truly understanding how much others can be made to suffer as a result of her behavior. It does not compute.
A sociopath's motto is: Competition is king, survival the agenda, and no one is ever, ever, ever to be trusted. A sociopath's mantra: “Do unto others before they do unto you.”

UPDATED: Anthony Attorney Fights Sworn Depositions
Kronk Considers Legal Action Against Padilla
POSTED: 10:55 am EST February 23, 2009
UPDATED: 3:05 pm EST February 23, 2009
<snipped>
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The lawyer for George and Cindy Anthony, grandparents of slain toddler Caylee Anthony, is promising a court fight to keep them from having to give sworn depositions Thursday.
If nothing happens, on Thursday George and Cindy Anthony are under subpoena to testify under oath about Fernandez-Gonzalez.
The Anthony's lawyer said attorney John Morgan's plan to depose the Anthonys in front of the press is ludicrous. He plans to ask a judge to at least postpone the depositions until the Anthonys are in better shape psychologically to answer more questions. "They're both fragile emotionally and they need to recover but it'll take a little bit of time. I don't want them going in there without a clear head," attorney Brad Conway said. Lee Anthony is scheduled to testify Friday. His lawyer said he does not plan to block the deposition because Lee knows nothing about Fernandez-Gonzalez and will say so.

Roy Kronk's attorney has sent Leonard Padilla a letter that demands he stop what Kronk considers personal attacks on various national platforms. Kronk's attorney, David Evans, who also represents WESH-TV, said he's documenting every Padilla statement and will consider action against him. Padilla responded to the letter by saying if Kronk wants a legal fight, he should "saddle up."

UPDATED: Casey Anthony's defense attorney center of another Florida Bar inquiry
Amy L. Edwards | Sentinel Staff Writer
2:43 PM EST, February 23, 2009

<snipped>
A Bar spokeswoman couldn't disclose details about the inquiry, but said it pertains to Baez's relationship with his now former media relations company.
Since fall, Baez's law firm referred news reporters to a spokesman named "Todd Black" with a company called Press Corps Media.
Black never agreed to in-person interviews with reporters, would not provide his photograph, and did not reveal his true identity.

Timothy Chinaris, an attorney representing Baez in that inquiry, told the Bar that Press Corps Media was retained by a Connecticut family. Chinaris said his client had not paid and will not pay "any part" of Press Corps Media's fees or expenses.

Baez has since hired Marti Mackenzie as his new spokeswoman. In an e-mail statement, Mackenzie said this afternoon: "The circumstances of Mr. Baez's now severed association with Press Corps Media have not changed; as Timothy Chinaris, an ethics attorney representing Baez in the first Bar inquiry, told the Bar, Press Corps Media claimed that it was retained by a Connecticut family. We expect that the Bar will again close the file and find that no disciplinary proceedings are appropriate."

Strangers Donate Hundreds Of Dollars To Casey Anthony
Monday, February 23, 2009 – updated: 6:02 pm EST February 23, 2009

<snipped>
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Who are the strangers who keep sending money to Casey Anthony in jail? The money comes from all over the country and in Central Florida, so Eyewitness News set out to find out who's doing it and why. Casey has received more than $1,000, mostly from strangers. More than $1,200 has been deposited into Casey's jail account since October. Twenty-five dollars came from a Cypress Creek High School student from Hunters Creek, just down the road from the jail.

Andrew Miller told Eyewitness News he really did it for Casey's father George. The 15-year-old gifted high school freshman said he doesn't have much money, but gave a substantial part of it to Casey Anthony
Miller said he needed to go to the memorial service to offer support and said it helped him as much as he hopes it helped George.
"Giving any sort of charity, be it psychological or real like money, it really just makes you feel better inside, helps your psyche a lot," he said.
The Anthony family is having financial difficulties, but George did manage to deposit $125 into Casey's jail account.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her daughter Caylee.

UPDATED INFO: Meter reader Roy Kronk's attorney wants bounty hunter to shush
5:00 PM EST, February 23, 2009
<snipped>
He's tired of hearing the cowboy-hat-wearin' and toothpick-chewin' Padilla drag his name into conspiracy theories about Caylee Anthony the toddler whose remains were discovered in the woods by Kronk on Dec. 11.
Padilla doesn't understand why it's such a big deal.
It's no secret what he's doing, Padilla told the Orlando Sentinel today.
He's simply looking into the circumstances of how Caylee's remains were found.

"Things just don't add up," he said about how Kronk discovered the remains.
Padilla is convinced the meter reader was tipped off somehow. It's possible, the cowboy said, that Kronk may not know why the tip came to him.
"I'm continuing to get the bottom of it," Padilla said.

Roy Kronk Threatens To Sue Leonard Padilla
Meter Reader Found Remains Of Caylee Anthony In Wooded Lot
POSTED: Monday, February 23, 2009
UPDATED: 9:00 pm EST February 23, 2009

The attorney representing Roy Kronk, the Orange County worker who found the remains in a wooded lot in December, sent a letter to Padilla accusing him of trying to connect his client to Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, her family and her defense team. Kronk said Padilla is using the national media to smear his name.
Meanwhile, Anthony's family is set to give depositions in the civil case against her this week.
Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, and her brother, Lee Anthony, will answer questions from the attorney representing Zenaida Gonzalez, who claims that Casey Anthony accused her of kidnapping Caylee.
Casey Anthony's attorneys argue that Gonzalez has not proved her reputation has been damaged.

Florida Bar Opens Another Inquiry Into Jose Baez
Monday, February 23, 2009 9:08:42 PM

<snipped>
A Bar spokeswoman would only tell the Orlando Sentinel it pertains to Jose Baez's relationship with his now-former media-relations company.
Since last fall, Baez's law firm referred news reporters to a spokesman named Todd Black with Press Corps Media. Black never agreed to in-person interviews with reporters, would not provide his photograph, and did not reveal his true identity.
The company later confirmed three people used the name of Todd Black, and confirmed one of those was actually Gil Cabot, who was convicted of extortion.
The Bar closed a similar investigation last fall, and Baez' new spokeswoman, Marti Mackenzie, said she expects them to close this one as well.

Zenaida Gonzalez Seeks Punitive Damages Against Casey Anthony
Anthony Remains Jailed On Murder Charge
POSTED: Tuesday, February 24, 2009
UPDATED: 4:45 pm EST February 24, 2009
<snipped>
Anthony said the woman suing her is not the person with whom she left Caylee and filed a countersuit against Gonzalez, claiming the lawsuit is frivolous.
Gonzalez's attorneys, John Morgan and Keith Mitnik, on Tuesday fired back at Anthony's attempt to have the lawsuit dismissed, attacking her claim that she cannot be sued for defamation for any lies she may have told investigators.
In the filing, Morgan and Mitnik said the law "does not give her a free pass to trash Zenaida Gonzalez" and they argued that not all of the alleged defamatory statements were made to authorities, saying Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony -- at her daughter's prompting -- identified Gonzalez as a possible kidnapper.

Meanwhile, Casey Anthony's parents have moved to block questioning by Gonzalez's attorneys in the civil case. George and Cindy Anthony were expected to be deposed on Thursday, but that's now on hold, Local 6 News reported. Lee Anthony, Casey Anthony's brother, was to be questioned on Friday.

As for the criminal case against Casey Anthony, the state has given the defense two DVDs, one of which shows her behavior at sheriff's headquarters on the day she was indicted on a murder charge. The other shows Lee Anthony meeting with Casey Anthony's last boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro.

Conway said George and Cindy Anthony have been under emotional stress since Caylee's death and their daughter's arrest, and have sought counseling. "They should not be subjected to additional publication of personal information while they are still grieving deeply," he wrote.
Conway pointed out that the information sought by Fernandez-Gonzalez's attorneys from the Morgan & Morgan law firm can be obtained through written questions. Another option is to delay the interview until after a May hearing on whether the case will be dismissed.
This request was filed the same day Fernandez-Gonzalez asked the court to allow her more than $15,000 in punitive damages.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009 4:17:45 PM

ORLANDO -- The defamation case that claims Casey Anthony ruined the life of a woman named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez has been delayed.
Brad Conway, the lawyer for Casey's parents, said his clients are not ready to give a public deposition in this case.
Conway said the public scrutiny is just too much and his clients have been through enough.

Judge Jose Rodriguez has given the media 20 days as to why they need to be there for the interviewing process of the Anthonys.
Conway will also have to give a psychological review to explain why they are not ready.
Conway said he wants at least five or six weeks before the case gets under way.

The judge also ruled to delay the depositions for 20 days to give Conway a chance to present evidence of the psychological problems they're experiencing that Conway claimed in his motion.
Wednesday in court Conway cited a WESH 2 story from this month. In it Gonzalez's lawyer John Morgan said he planned to invite the media in and videotape the Anthony's deposition. The judge is also giving the media 20 days to present legal arguments on why they have a right to be at that hearing.

Gonzalez's attorney said the rights of his client and damages she's faced are lost in all this.
It is unclear what the judge's decision means for Casey Anthony's brother, Lee. He was scheduled to give a deposition Friday.

Anthonys Avoid Questions In Civil Suit Against Casey
Wednesday, February 25, 2009 – updated: 5:26 pm EST February 25, 2009
<snipped>
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- The civil case against Casey Anthony was fought in court Wednesday afternoon. Casey's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, tried to get out of answering questions under oath in a defamation lawsuit filed against their daughter Casey and they were successful, at least for a now.
The Anthonys' attorney said both are under a doctor's care as they grieve for their granddaughter Caylee, who disappeared eight months ago and whose remains were found more than two months ago, but he did not bring any evidence to court Wednesday to show that would legally prevent them from testifying.

"To spend three hours and answer questions for my client, who kind of gets lost in all of this and her rights, is probably the least painful thing they're gonna have to do in the next month," attorney Keith Mitnik said.
Mitnik, Zenaida Gonzalez's attorney, says she has a right to clear her name, she was sucked into the case through no actions of her own and the Anthonys have actually perpetuated the accusations that have ruined her reputation, such as a statement Cindy made in July about Casey forgiving Zenaida for taking off with Caylee.
"She forgives her and wants her to bring Caylee back to us safely," Cindy said in July.

It could boil down to whether the defense wants to use Zenaida Gonzalez as an option for creating "reasonable doubt" in the case, which is exactly what Zenaida is worried about.

Conway filed a motion late Tuesday to block those depositions saying his clients aren't ready mentally or emotionally. “George Anthony tried to commit suicide that was less than a month ago that he was released from the hospital. Cindy Anthony has had to deal with that. Cindy Anthony puts on a strong face, but she was equally grieving and troubled...to say cold feet completely ignore what they're going through...
Mantic says he does not want to delay clearing Gonzalez’s name any longer. “Someone’s name continues to be out there as a potential kidnapper...and murderer… what it will do is put my client's opportunity on the back burner.”
Judge Jose Rodriguez also told FOX 35, and other media outlets, that we have 20 days for our attorneys to submit an argument as to why we should be able to to sit in and record those depositions.
Meanwhile lee Anthony, Casey Anthony’s brother, is still set for depositions on Friday.

The case against Casey Anthony: Do the pieces add up?
Sarah Lundy and Amy L. Edwards | Sentinel Staff Writers
February 26, 2009

<snipped>
A hair, a laundry bag, some duct tape and a strange odor in the car. Throw in a mother who lied to investigators and showed little concern for weeks that her 2-year-old daughter had disappeared.Since Casey Anthony became the prime suspect in the disappearance — and eventual death — of her daughter Caylee Marie, prosecutors have released thousands of pages of evidence in their case against her.
But does the case, with its countless morsels of evidence, truly link the 22-year-old Orange County mother to Caylee's remains?

The Orlando Sentinel asked a handful of legal experts about some of the evidence released so far. They predict a difficult case for both sides.
"At this point ... this is a dogfight. This is not a slam-dunk for the state," said Charles Rose, a professor at Stetson University College of Law near St. Petersburg.
