ORLANDO, Fla. -- Lee Anthony, the brother of Casey Anthony, gave a deposition in the defamation suit involving Zenaida Gonzalez on Friday morning.
Gonzalez has the same name as the person Casey Anthony named as her daughter Caylee's nanny. Casey Anthony said Caylee's nanny kidnapped the toddler last summer.
Gonzalez said she is looking to have her name legally changed.
Television cameras were invited into the downtown courtroom, according to attorney John Morgan, but a last-minute agreement was reached to keep them just outside of the deposition. Anthony was expected to answer some questions when the deposition is completed. (Check back later Friday afternoon, when WESH 2 News is expected to get video of the deposition.)

Casey Anthony's brother won't answer questions if media present
Casey Anthony's brother, Lee, has scheduled deposition in her civil case Friday morning.

Lee Anthony isn't going to answer questions under oath if the media shows up for his deposition Friday morning, his attorney Thomas Luka told the Orlando Sentinel today.
The pair will leave if Keith Mitnik with the Morgan & Morgan law firm allows reporters to attend the interview scheduled at the Orlando law firm, he said.
Luka then plans to file a motion to ask the court to keep his client from answering questions in front of the media. This is part of an ongoing defamation case involving Lee Anthony's sister, Casey, a 22-year-old mother accused of killing her daughter whose remains were found in December. Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's videotaped reaction to the news that a child's body was found near her home should not be made public, her defense attorney said in a motion on Friday.Attorney Jose Baez also said in the motion the videotape violates Anthony's patient and medical privacy rights, since it was taped in the Orange County Jail's medical clinic.
No date has been set to hear the motion.
When the remains were discovered on Dec. 11, investigators arranged to have Anthony brought to the jail clinic, where reports about the remains were on the television. Anthony appeared to hyperventilate, officials said.
Anthony's defense also is challenging the release of hundreds of photos of Casey Anthony, which they say prosecutors are using to embarrass and harass their client.
The motion was filed Thursday afternoon and a hearing is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
Attorney Jose Baez said in the motion that the photos were on Photobucket.com, a photo-sharing site that contained many images of Anthony partying.
He said the photos are irrelevant to the case and will paint Anthony in a negative light.
Prosecutors have released hundreds of pages of evidence in the case so far. WESH 2 News has learned that another 1,000 pages is scheduled for release soon.

- A hearing in the Casey Anthony case will be held Monday afternoon to hear a motion by the defense that would prevent the public release of thousands of photos of Anthony.
The defense said Wednesday they were given two discs containing hundreds if not thousands of photos of Anthony by the state attorney&#8217;s office.
Judge Stan Strickland will hear arguments from defense attorney Jose Baez that the photos are irrelevant to the murder case against his client and that the release of the photos to the media would be embarrassing and could constitute harassment.

Casey Anthony's defense lawyer asked a judge today to block release of personal photos he says could embarrass the 22-year-old murder suspect.
Attorney Jose Baez filed the request to keep the pictures from being released with other evidence to reporters.
Calling the images irrelevant to the case, he proposed that prosecutors release only those photos they intend to use at trial and keep the remainder under wraps.
The request comes after the defense team received two computer discs from the state that contained hundreds of pictures from Anthony's account on Photobucket.com, an online photo-sharing Web site.
Baez did not describe the photos, but images available on Photobucket.com last fall included dozens of pictures of Anthony partying and drinking with her friends.
Under Florida's public record laws, the media is entitled to the information -- unless a judge intervenes.

"My first step is to ask plaintiff council to ask the media to leave the deposition room,&#8221; Luka said. &#8220;If plaintiff council refuses to do so, I will immediately file with him a copy of a protective order then file that with the Clerk of Courts and Judge Rodriguez.&#8221;
According to Luka, civil law procedure states that &#8216;no deposition shall be taken before persons that are financially interested in the action&#8217;. Luka claims because video and sound would be used in a news program, with commercial breaks, that technically the media has financial interest in what Lee Anthony has to say.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Lee Anthony on Friday said in a deposition in the defamation case against his sister, Casey Anthony, that he had never heard the name Zenaida Gonzalez until the day his sister was arrested. Casey Anthony has said the woman who took Caylee is a different woman who shares the same name. Lee Anthony reiterated that statement in the deposition, but also said that his sister told him that the baby sitter took Caylee from Blanchard Park, not the Sawgrass Apartments.
"Because of the age, because of all the other things that were listed out -- the description that my sister gave my parents ... and police -- (and) the fact that my sister said when they showed a picture of her 'No,'" Lee Anthony said in the deposition. "If there was a chance that that was the Zenaida, her and I would have had conversations well prior to this."
While waiting for the deposition to begin, Lee Anthony could be seen yawning, tapping fingers and sitting with his arms crossed.

Meanwhile, Casey Anthony will appear before a judge on Monday when her attorney, Jose Baez, attempts to block images from an online account from being released to the media.
About 1,000 pages of newly released documents are expected to be released next week as part of discovery in Casey Anthony's criminal case.

Casey Anthony's defense lawyer asked a judge Thursday to block release of personal photos he says could embarrass the 22-year-old murder suspect."The images on the Photobucket Website were created over a year before her daughter Caylee Anthony went missing in June 2008," Baez's spokeswoman, Marti Mackenzie, wrote in an e-mail. "These images are irrelevant to her case. If they were to be disseminated, they will only sensationalize the life of a young woman and may be used to attempt to paint her in a negative light."

In a second motion the lawyer released Thursday, Baez asked the judge to withhold a Dec.11 video of Anthony's reaction to hearing that a then-unknown child's remains had been found in woods.
According to Baez, corrections officers took her to the jail clinic so she could watch media reports. She didn't know security cameras were recording her reaction, he wrote. Releasing the video would taint a potential jury pool before he had the chance to file motions to seal or suppress it.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Lee Anthony spoke in a deposition Friday morning in a civil suit filed against Casey Anthony by a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez. Casey has been charged with her daughter Caylee Anthony's murder and claims that Caylee was kidnapped by a baby sitter named Zenaida Gonzalez.
Lee contradicted previous statements that he's made when he testified under oath Friday. In the past, Lee Anthony told Orange County investigators and Casey's friends that she is a liar and that she's stolen money from him and other relatives.
However, Friday under oath, he told Zenaida Gonzales' lawyers that he believes everything his sister Casey has told him.
"To this day I believe everything my sister tells me," said Lee.

CASEY FILES "MOTION TO STAY"
On Thursday February 26, Casey Anthony filed a "motion to stay the release of discovery." The motion asks that a judge block the release of video footage of Casey while she was in the jail's clinic on December 11 after receiving word of her daughter Caylee Anthony's body being found.
Casey Anthony is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday.
Her attorney Jose Baez wants to stop the state from releasing thousands of pictures from Casey's computer and her "photobucket" account.
However, many of the images have already been released.

The deposition began at 9 a.m. Friday in the News 13 building, at the law offices of Morgan & Morgan. In the suit, Gonzalez claimed Casey ruined her life by mentioning her name in the investigation.

Attorneys for a Kissimmee woman suing Casey Anthony for defamation questioned her brother for more than three hours today.
Lee Anthony answered most of the questions posed by attorneys from the Morgan & Morgan law firm and he confirmed that their client -- Zenaida Gonzalez -- is not the person Casey Anthony said took her daughter, according to attorney John Morgan.
But Lee Anthony didn't answer all the questions, so Morgan said he will ask a judge to compel him to respond. The nature of the questions he would not answer won't be known until later today, when a transcript of today's deposition should be available. The questioning also was videotaped.
The deposition began shortly after 9 a.m. and ended around 12:30 p.m. It was conducted behind closed doors.

Lee Anthony and his attorney arrived at the mock courtroom at Morgan & Morgan law firm at 8:45 this morning.
Anthony is going to be deposed in a civil case against his sister, Casey Anthony, who claimed a woman named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez kidnapped her daughter, Caylee Marie.
More than a dozen news cameras captured Lee Anthony and his attorney, Thomas Luca, going into the room and continued to film through the glass as the two sat down. Neither of the men spoke to reporters.
The media was moved into the law firm's lobby, about 50-feet from where the deposition was taking place.
Morgan & Morgan law firm is video-taping the deposition.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Casey Anthony's brother, Lee, spent three hours Friday giving a deposition in a civil lawsuit filed by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.
Lee Anthony&#8217;s questions were asked under oath in a mock courtroom at the offices of Morgan and Morgan, the law firm representing Gonzalez.
There were several questions that Anthony refused to answer and Morgan said he intends to file a motion in court to compel Anthony to testify.
Lee Anthony was questioned Friday by the attorney representing Zenaida Fernendez Gonzalez. Among the many questioned he was asked here he talks about the first time he ever heard her name.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Casey Anthony&#8217;s defense lawyer, Jose Baez, filed a motion on Thursday in an attempt to prevent the release of Orange County Jail video of Anthony while she was at the jail&#8217;s clinic.
The motion filed reads that on Dec. 11, 2008, Anthony was involuntarily taken to the jail&#8217;s clinic so she could see the TV inside or near the clinic. On the television, media reports indicated that the remains of Anthony&#8217;s daughter, Caylee, had been located.
Baez alleges that the Orange County Sheriff&#8217;s Office previously made arrangements to have the jail&#8217;s video cameras set up to capture Anthony&#8217;s reaction to the televised reports. He said Anthony was not aware that she was being recorded while she was in the clinic and it violated her patient and medical privacy rights.
The motion also alleges that law enforcement officials leaked information to the media and that the video shows Anthony&#8217;s consciousness of guilt.
Baez filed the motion to understand what the state plans to do with the video and with what purpose.
No hearing has been requested on the motion at this time.

During the deposition, Lee Anthony made several bold statements and his lawyer advised him not to answer several questions, claiming they were related to the criminal case against Casey Anthony and had no bearing on the Gonzalez defamation suit.
Under oath Friday Lee Anthony said that, to this day, he believes everything his sister tells him.
"I think the questions he wouldn't answer went to the heart of Casey Anthony's guilt or innocence," attorney John Morgan said.

After answering questions for more than three hours, Lee Anthony said Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman suing Casey for defamation, is not the nanny of the same name Casey claimed kidnapped her murdered daughter, Caylee.
Attorneys for Gonzalez said Friday was the first step in clearing their client&#8217;s name.
