Hoover claims Dominic Casey, a colleague, knew where Caylee Anthony&#8217;s remains were weeks before they were actually uncovered.
&#8220;He just said, I said &#8216;well let&#8217;s go get her.&#8217; I figure she was still alive somewhere and he (Dominic Casey) said &#8220;we can&#8217;t. She&#8217;s dead. And I know where she is,&#8221; Hoover said.
"We fairly laid it out well legally in our motion with all the different possible violations that are there, both constitutional as well as privacy issues,&#8221; Baez said.

Lt. Tammy Unser who had talked to investigators about conversations between Anthony and Baez, cancelled her interview.

P.I. Jim Hoover Breaks Silence In Casey Case

For the first time, Hoover told Eyewitness News on camera Thursday that Dominic was somber that day because he said he found out Caylee was dead.
"'She's dead and I know where she is,'" Hoover said Dominic told him.
"What do you think about all his other stories about a psychic and that he was checking out a teen hangout?" Belich asked Hoover.
"Stories, just stories," he said.

Hoover was behind closed doors at the State Attorney's Office Thursday for nearly three hours facing defense questions. Hoover has also said that the Anthonys' private eye never looked for the mysterious nanny of the same name whom Casey claimed disappeared with Caylee.

Hoover had volunteered his services to the Anthony family. He told reporters that another private eye for the Anthony family, Dominic Casey, knew that Caylee's body was in the woods.
"That raises the question how could Dominic have known that Caylee's body was in the woods," WKMG's Louis Bolden said.
WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said prosecutors will use Hoover's information to link Casey Anthony to the crime scene. "You can only get that information from the killer or someone so closely associated with the killer that they had that information," Sheaffer said.
Brad Conway, attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, told WESH-Channel 2 that his clients are still seeking private time with Casey to mourn Caylee.
"There's no plan for a funeral service or something that other inmates are not entitled to," Conway said. "Whatever the jail will allow is what we want." The jail has said it won't allow any special treatment for Anthony.

Depositions have wrapped up for the week in the Case Against Casey, and Jose Baez says they've been successful.
The supervisor of meter reader Roy Kronk was questioned Friday, as well as Orange County Sheriff's investigators.

"Why law enforcement behaved in the way they did and why this case was investigated in that way and in hopes that if a more thorough job would have been done, we believe there could have been something to help us exonerate our clients," Baez said.

The deputy who was sent to investigate the scene the first time around, Richard Cain, did not show up for questioning Friday.

A month before Caylee Anthony's remains were found, that area was searched.
Hoover headed into the woods to look for Caylee with another private investigator, Dominic Casey.
Hoover said Casey was acting as if he was getting exact direction from someone as to where to look in the woods.

"I think we went into more detail with Mr. Hoover that went into in the past, but that's as far as I'll go," Baez said.
&#8220;Like everybody who all was on the phone? Why were we out in the woods? That sort of thing. (In your gut who do you believe was on the phone that day?) I answered that last week and I was threatened to be sued. (You believe it was Lee?) There's a slight possibility it could be Lee,&#8221; Hoover said.

Casey Anthony buys chips, water, candy with out-of-state donations
Casey Anthony currently has more than $480 in jail account.

Casey Anthony got a $100 money order from Ohio, $10 from California and $5 from Kansas.
She uses the account to buy food and other items from the jail's commissary. Her order Thursday totaled $29. It included ponytail holders, tortilla chips, bottled water, cocoa, strawberry pop tarts and M&M peanuts, according to jail records.

On Monday, more investigative material is expected to be made public by prosecutors. Baez already has the information but the documents will be released to the media under the state's public record law.

Land Where Caylee&#8217;s Remains Found Sold

It looks like bounty hunter Leonard Padilla's hopes of building a permanent memorial for Caylee Anthony is a no go.
According to Brad Conway, George and Cindy Anthony's attorney, he knows who the land has been sold to, but would not reveal his name.
Conway said the new owner will "do something good" with it.

Sheriff's investigator Awilda McBryde is the one who investigated Casey Anthony's computer and found only one reference to Zenaida Gonzalez. It was a keyword search of Zenaida on July 16, the day after Casey had told a 911 operator that the babysitter, named Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez, had taken off with Caylee a month earlier.

"The defense might try to say Casey wasn't developing her defense, but in fact doing a search to locate her," WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer told Eyewitness News.

There will be even more action in the case next week. More documents are expected to be released that should show Deputy Michael Cain's first statements to homicide investigators.
Also, on Thursday, lawyers plan to question Casey's parents in the civil lawsuit against Casey.

Casey Anthony's former best friend, Amy Huizenga, has hired a lawyer. Her deposition has been postponed.

Depositions continue in Anthony case

For a third day in a row, Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, subpoenaed some of the State's witnesses for defense depositions.
"We want to get down to what actually happened and investigate that matter as much as possible," said Baez as he entered the Orange County Courthouse. "That's the purpose of taking these depositions."

Lt. Tammy Unser was also scheduled to be deposed on Thursday, but it was postponed. Unser was also working at the jail on December 11, and Baez has said in court documents that he believes she was revealing some of Casey Anthony's private medical information to investigators.
Baez also questioned Marlene Baker who works at the jail. Last summer, Casey Anthony wrote a letter to then Sheriff Kevin Beary, asking to see her father face to face.

Two deputies are scheduled for defense depositions on Friday as is the man who was meter reader Roy Kronk's boss at the time. Kronk is the one who found Caylee Marie Anthony's remains in the woods back in December.

"I don't know why I'm here, honestly," said Hoover as he arrived at the court house.
Casey Anthony's defense team subpoenaed Hoover for depositions to find out every detail surrounding the video.

Anthony Attorney Questions Investigators
Baez Seeks Information On How Kronk's Tips Were Handled

Baez said he hoped to learn more about why the Orange County Sheriff's Office dismissed Kronk's suspicions in August.
He was expected to question the detective who made the call on Aug. 12 not to send someone to investigate Kronk's call because the area had previously been searched. A sheriff's office supervisor who handled all the tips also was questioned.
"I would say yes, we've been very successful in getting a lot of information over the last several days. We're very happy with the progress," Baez said.

More developments are slated for next week in the Anthony case. Prosecutors will release three new discs of evidence on Monday.
George and Cindy Anthony are also scheduled to give separate sworn depositions in the Zenaida Gonzalez civil suit on Thursday.

Filicide, the killing of a child by its parent, has unique characteristics making it different from other forms of homicide.[1] Filicide seems particularly horrifying and inexplicable, especially when the parent is the mother.

Maternal Filicide - The Profile of Mothers Who Kill Their Children

A general profile of mothers most at risk of committing filicide has developed. Typically, the mother is young, around 21 years of age. She is single and has had multiple unstable relationships with men. Either she is mentally deficient or an apparently normal young woman, forced to put off high school graduation, college, or career because of pregnancy. She is unemployed and has financial difficulties. She may have suffered from serious mental illness in the past, or only manifested undiagnosed personality changes after the birth of her child. Roughly, one fifth of these mothers have been victims of physical or sexual abuse.

OBJECTIVE: Maternal filicide, or child murder by mothers, occurs more frequently in the United States than in other developed nations. However, little is known about factors that confer risk to children. The authors review the literature to identify predictors of maternal filicide and identify gaps in knowledge about maternal filicide. METHOD: Databases were systematically searched for studies of maternal filicide and neonaticide (murder in the first day of life) that were conducted in industrialized countries and were published in peer-reviewed, English-language publications after 1980. RESULTS: Women who committed filicide varied greatly by the type of sample studied. Neonaticide was often committed by young, poor, unmarried women with little or no prenatal care. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the review suggest that little is known about the predictors of maternal filicide and that a systematic, focused program of research on reliable markers for maternal filicide is needed to better prevent these events.

Baez Deposes Deputy Who Searched Woods

The first person deposed on Friday was Alex Roberts, Roy Kronk's supervisor.
Roberts was followed by Awilda McBride, a missing person's detective. McBride was in charge of collecting tips regarding Caylee's disappearance. She also collected evidence in the case from the Anthony home as well as the dumpster at the Amscot where Casey Anthony's car was discovered.
The last person deposed this week was Orange County sheriff's deputy Gerald White.

Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, are scheduled to be deposed April 9 by John Morgan regarding the civil case filed against Casey Anthony.
Baez said he plans on deposing more witnesses in two weeks, but the nine depositions this week were helpful.

The lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez are asking a judge to force a private investigator who failed to show up for a deposition to answer questions under oath in the Casey Anthony defamation case.
Dominic Casey -- who worked for Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, and the Anthony family -- was supposed to be interviewed by lawyers from the Morgan & Morgan law firm on March 25.

But Dominic Casey did not show. He informed Morgan & Morgan that his attorney was not available at that time, according to the court document.
The deposition was not rescheduled.

Casey Anthony case: Jose Baez "happy" with depositions

Before the depositions, WFTV-Channel 9 showed Baez talking to reporters about his goals with the depositions.
"I hope to accomplish to be able to get to the truth of everything," he said.
"Hasn't Casey told you the truth?" WFTV's Kathi Belich asked.
He didn't answer that, but said, "I don't know what officers know and what they've done. And that's part of the truth, that's part of the entire story."

WKMG-Channel 6's Adam Longo reported that the deputy handed the tip to the case's lead detective, who allegedly said the area had been searched. "This defense team is convinced Caylee's remains weren't in those woods until after Casey went to jail," Longo added.

Baez expects to take more depositions in two weeks, and the defense wants to subpoena records from Texas EquuSearch, Longo reported.

Up next, another new name, Awilda McBride. She works at the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Court documents show McBryde took an anonymous call August 12th at 9:17 pm.
McBride passed that tip on to Detective Jerold White.

White said on the record that lead detective Yuri Melich told him this area where Caylee was found had been searched. That's something Casey's Attorney wanted to know more about. "I don't know what officers know and what they've done. That's part of the truth. That's part of this entire story," said Jose Baez.

Up next, Monday the state attorney's office will be releasing three DVD's full of discovery. Sources tell us that will include video of police interviews, color pictures from Casey Anthony's photobucket account, as well as more documents.

An attorney for Casey Anthony's family said Friday someone is working on a plan to block a permanent memorial at the site where their granddaughter's body was found.
"That's not where they want to remember...Caylee Marie being," Brad Conway told WESH 2.

Conway, who represents Cindy and George Anthony, said someone sympathetic to the Anthony family is working on a deal to buy the land where the Anthony's granddaughter was discovered and use it for something other than a Caylee memorial.
"They would rather have something that is a living memorial, something that children can play at," Conway said.

Baez was seeking information about a video that was taken in Orange County Jail on the day a child's remains were found that sources say shows Casey Anthony doubling over at the news.
Baez said he will be seeking to have a judge throw out the video.

George and Cindy Anthony were aboard the S.S. Caylee Marie, a boat billed as an "extreme" search and rescue vessel, when it went on its maiden voyage Saturday.
The Kid Finders Network raised about $30,000 in donations to purchase the boat, which is outfitted with the latest technology, including equipment some police forces do not possess.

George Anthony said he's using lessons learned from his family tragedy to help others.

"No. 1 is you never give up. You never take no for an answer. Just because a certain law enforcement individual tells you, 'There's nothing we can do today,' don't believe that. There's always something that can be done," George Anthony said.

WKMG-Channel 6 this morning heralded its "exclusive interview" with George Anthony.
The station said he "breaks his silence and talks only to Local 6." He is the father of Casey Anthony, who is charged with the murder of her daughter, Caylee.

I'm no fan of promos masquerading as reports. Did George say anything interesting? Well, I guess we'll have to tune in at 11.

But I'm not hopeful. Do you think George can "help families deal with tragedies similar to his family's own"? Does Caylee's strange saga parallel those of lost or missing children? Will George say anything about his suicide attempt? Are you interested in celebrating the controversial Kid Finders Network? There's a lot stacked against this "exclusive" interview.

Hundreds of pages of new material were released Monday morning. The information includes documents, images, audio, and videos of interviews with Anthony and others.

The information was contained on three DVD's, including one that shows investigators with Casey Anthony in October after she was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder.

There also are audio recordings of detectives talking with Richard Cain, the Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy who was called to the scene where Caylee Anthony eventually was found in Orange County.
WESH 2 is reviewing the material and will be posting it online throughout the day.

The spokeswoman for Casey Anthony's defense lawyer, Jose Baez, just released the following statement:

"Since new discovery was released today in the Casey Anthony case, I have received a number of telephone calls regarding various matters.

Regarding the two contradictory statements made by Orange County Deputy Richard Cain on December 18, 2008, Mr. Baez is aware that Deputy Cain's account of what happened at the site where Caylee's remains were found changed dramatically from his first statement at 9 a.m. and his second at approximately 3:30 p.m. Because depositions are ongoing, there is no further comment at this time."

10:36 a.m. Dozens of documents, images and other media files are on the DVDs, including: - Images from Casey Anthony's online photo account. Many of the photos and images -- including of Anthony and Anthony Lazzaro, her former boyfriend, were released earlier. - Cell phone records and images that appear to have been taken on a mobile phone. - Photos of private investigator Jim Hoover. He's seen smiling with California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla in one photo. In another, he's with George Anthony and Cindy Anthony. - Calendars covered with hand-written notes that appear to belong to detectives. Notes include when people spoke or last heard from Casey Anthony. - Comments posted on a blog. - An e-mail to Cindy Anthony from her brother. The brother told Cindy Anthony he thought Casey Anthony was lying and that Cindy was in denial. - A document that states Casey Anthony did not graduate on time from Colonial High School. The document states Anthony did get a diploma and likely went to summer school. - A letter from Valencia Community College that states Casey Anthony was never enrolled in the school.

UPDATED: Casey's Interview Following Murder Indictment Released

Among the video and audio interviews released was the first interview investigators had with Casey Anthony after she was indicted by a grand jury on first-degree murder charges, to which she pleaded not guilty.

The evidence also revealed why private investigator Jim Hoover helped in the search for Caylee.
According to the evidence, Hoover told the Orange County Sheriff&#8217;s Office he was hoping to get paid by taking pictures and video of the Anthony family.

Hoover also admitted that Dominic Casey told him that when he got paid, he&#8217;d be &#8220;taken care of.&#8221;

George, Cindy To Be Deposed In Civil Case
Later this week (Thursday), Casey Anthony&#8217;s parents, George and Cindy Anthony, are scheduled to be deposed in their daughter&#8217;s civil case against Zenaida Gonzalez.
