Florida Bar taking another look at Casey Anthony's attorney
The Bar staff confirmed an inquiry involving Jose Baez.

The Florida Bar is looking into Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez again.
A Bar spokeswoman confirmed today the inquiry involves private investigator Dominic Casey, who worked for Baez for a period of time and for the Anthony family.

Baez has an unrelated open Bar inquiry against him that is still being reviewed, the Bar's spokeswoman confirmed. That inquiry involves Press Corps Media, the media firm that represented him for several months.

Details about the two inquiries are not public record.

The Florida Bar has launched an investigation into Casey Anthony's defense attorney, Jose Baez.
Allegations have been made against Baez that he told private investigator Dominic Casey to avoid calling 911 if he found Caylee Anthony's remains.

No proof has been offered that the conversation actually took place, but the Florida Bar has begun an investigation into the matter, to see whether Baez violated any rules. The bar would not confirm who made the complaints, but did confirm that several complaints were made.
"Like I've told everyone all along, the defense has not done anything unethical," Baez said.

Lawyers representing Zenaida Gonzalez are going after the Anthony family's private investigator for missing his deposition. Dominic Casey asked a judge to delay the deposition so he could hire a new attorney. However, he never showed.

Zenaida's lawyers want a judge to find him in contempt and sanction him for their expenses.

Dominic Casey's private eye license could also be in jeopardy after a judge found that he divulged defense secrets to detectives investigating the Caylee Anthony murder.

FOX 35 confirmed on Tuesday that a contract has been signed on half-acre property off Suburban Drive.

Padilla was offering $50,000 cash. Padilla's assistant told FOX 35 that he wanted to buy the lot to put up a memorial. The Anthony's attorney, Brad Conway, tells FOX 35 Padilla did not get the property. He assures me it was sold to a "good person who has good intentions."

The Anthonys have said that they hope the property gets fenced-off, and they want the makeshift memorial, which has been present for months, to come down.

The problem is, that reaction was not supposed to be released to the media now, and possibly never. "This is the kind of thing that gets people new trials," said local defense attorney, Diana Tennis.

As Tennis listened to the audio recordings from that interview, her amazement grew. "I think its pretty outrageous. Everybody has a right to strict confidence of their conversation with their lawyer. Just because you're in jail doesn't mean you have any less of a right," said Tennis.

Tennis also believes that some medical privacy laws were violated as well. She believes the defense can use this "mess up" to their advantage.
"When we get down to change of venue, this is what I would be bringing up if I were part of the defense team."

Meanwhile, veteran trial lawyer Cheney Mason said Judge Stan Strickland may decide the interviews can't be used in the prosecution&#8217;s case.
&#8220;Prohibit them from using any of that testimony or description of her reactions in trial in any capacity whatsoever. Suppress it to prohibit it from ever seeing the light of day in the courtroom for any purpose,&#8221; Mason said.

Mason can't predict what Strickland will do, but he can't imagine a mistake of this magnitude will sit well.
Strickland has already shown he is frustrated to both the prosecution and the defense in this case.
The judge was expected to rule on the audio files May 7.

Casey Anthony's parent, George and Cindy Anthony, will be deposed in the civil case against their daughter by lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez Thursday.
The depositions will take place in the morning.

They will be deposed separately at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Morgan Law Office. The depositions are not open to the public, but transcripts of their interviews are expected to be released afterward.

Also in his interview, Grund is says Lee Anthony said his sister and their mother, Cindy Anthony, had a violent fight that led Casey Anthony to leave the home just before Caylee was reported missing. According to Grund, Lee Anthony said Cindy Anthony told him about the fight, which involved Cindy Anthony choking her daughter.

Grund, however, said Casey Anthony never mentioned the fight to him.

What It&#8217;s Really Like on Florida&#8217;s Death Row

There are really two death rows in Florida: one for the men, located at the Florida State Prison and Correctional Institution in Raiford, and a separate facility for the women at the Broward Correctional Facility in Fort Lauderdale. As of today&#8217;s date, there was one woman on Florida&#8217;s Death Row and 391 men.

The people on Death Row sleep in their cells, eat in their cells, relieve themselves in their cell&#8217;s metal toilet, smoke cigarettes, read, watch television, write letters, read letters, and otherwise pass their time within their small cells, where there is no true privacy. Guards check on them at least once an hour, and one wall of the cell is made of bars, where inmates across the hall as well as guards walking the hallway can easily see inside the inmate&#8217;s confined space.

Death Row inmates take showers every other day, they get mail every weekday (not on weekends or holidays), and they can have small televisions (13&#8221 in their cells. They don&#8217;t get cable. They can have radios. They can have snack food in their cells. They can smoke cigarettes in their cells (and most of them do). They cannot attend religious services, but they can watch church services on closed-circuit television.

Jose Baez has been investigated by the Florida Bar before, but now sources tell Eyewitness News it's the judge in the case against Casey that's filed a complaint against Casey Anthony's own attorney.

Eyewitness News has learned Circuit Judge Stan Strickland is one of two people who have filed new complaints against Jose Baez. The Florida Bar says both investigations involve Baez's former private eye, Dominic Casey. He's the guy who was at the remains scene a month before detectives found Caylee.

It's very rare for a judge to file a complaint like this, but all judges are obligated as attorneys to report possible violations.

Thursday may prove to be a big day in the Casey Anthony's civil case.
Her mother, Cindy Anthony, and father, George Anthony, are scheduled to be questioned under oath by attorneys representing Zenaida Gonzalez.

Keith Mitnik, one of Gonzalez's attorneys, said Cindy Anthony is a central person involved in the case. She spoke publicly about the nanny when Casey Anthony couldn't, he said.
The questioning will take place at the Morgan & Morgan law firm in Orlando.

Casey Anthony has another court date -- May 7.

Orange Circuit Judge Stan Strickland will hear arguments from her attorney, Jose Baez, on why the state should not release a video of Casey Anthony's reaction the day she learned a child's remains were found near her home.

Baez also wants the judge to stop the state from releasing any videos, audiotapes and interviews with corrections officers who may have heard any conversations between Baez and Casey Anthony.

Earlier this week, the State Attorney's Office mistakenly released two taped interviews of two corrections officers who described Casey Anthony's reaction on Dec. 11.

Circuit Judge Stan Strickland -- the judge in the Casey Anthony case -- has filed a complaint against Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's attorney, WFTV-Channel 9 reported tonight.
It's very rare for a judge to file such a complaint with the Florida Bar, WFTV reporter Kathi Belich said in breaking the story at 5 p.m.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said the complaint wouldn't disqualify Strickland from the case and that Anthony would have to object. But Sheaffer advised against that move because other judges wouldn't be "as tolerant and as patient" as Strickland has been with Baez.

WKMG's Jessica D'Onofrio explored the audio interrogation of Amy Downing, Casey Anthony's former friend. Downing described Anthony as an overprotective mother who lied all the time -- "but no one ever called her on it," D'Onofrio said. Downing also recalled that Anthony has several breakdowns.

Casey Anthony's former best friend spoke to investigators about time she spent with the Anthony family immediately after Anthony was released on bond the first time.
Annie Downing stayed at the Anthony family home on Hope Spring Drive in east Orlando for one night in the summer of 2008.

Downing told investigators that Anthony did not give her a good idea of what happened to Caylee Anthony, but Downing said if Anthony did kill her daughter, she would not have acted alone.
"If Casey harmed Caylee, she didn't do it alone. I know that for sure. Casey's not that smart," Downing said.

Cindy was very uncomfortable during her deposition Thursday. She didn't appear to be happy and didn't like a lot of questions. When she walked out after the three-hour deposition, she muttered something that sounded like she said she couldn't stomach attorney John Morgan.
"I'm done. I've already answered the question. She's not the one. I'm done," Cindy told Zenaida's attorneys.

Eyewitness News has learned that the attorneys had a hard time getting information out of George Anthony, whose deposition started around 10:30am and ended just over two hours later.
George Anthony was questioned under oath Thursday, but he didn't want to answer what lawyers were asking.
"I suggest you go to another question, sir," George told lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez Thursday morning.
When asked about his granddaughter, Caylee, he was visibly upset.
"Do not do that to me again! Yes, you are! Yes, you are!" George said.

Eyewitness News obtained the DVD of George Anthony's deposition late Thursday afternoon. His wife, Cindy, didn't finish her deposition until after 4:00pm.

The deposition for George Anthony began at 10:30 a.m. at the Law Offices of Morgan & Morgan. Cindy Anthony will be deposed at 1:30 p.m.
The Anthonys arrived with their attorney Brad Conway around 9:55 a.m. Thursday.

The deposition started with questions about Casey's work history at Universal Studios. George said Casey was working full-time with a variety of hours. Anthony said Casey did not pay rent but helped out with households expenses.

Meanwhile, a new hearing is scheduled in the criminal case.
The Emergency Motion for Protective Order, which was filed on March 11, will be heard May 7 at 4 p.m. before Judge Stan Strickland.

Cindy Anthony yelled at attorney John Morgan while leaving the deposition regarding comments Morgan made about her not looking for her missing granddaughter.

According to Morgan, both George and Cindy Anthony refused to answer many questions. George Anthony refused questions about opening Casey Anthony's trunk and whether Cindy Anthony asked anyone to check the woods off Suburban Drive where Caylee Anthony's remains were eventually found.

Gonzalez's attorney, John Morgan, will depose George and Cindy Anthony, who spoke out against the attorney in November.
"It's frivolous, and he needs to just get back to chasing the ambulances," said Cindy Anthony, referring to Morgan.
"Instead of talking about chasing ambulances, I would be talking about chasing after Caylee. I would be back in the woods," Morgan said in response.

4:30p.m. George Anthony and Cindy Anthony just left the law offices of Morgan and Morgan and appeared visibly upset.
Voices were raised inside the office and Cindy Anthony was angry. Before she left, Anthony told lawyer John Morgan, "Don't tell me I can't pray."

2:50 p.m.The 93-page transcript of George Anthony has been released.
1:41 p.m. Lawyers began questioning Cindy Anthony under oath around 1:30 p.m.
George Anthony finished shortly before 12:30 p.m.

Attorney John Morgan said George Anthony responded to a lot of questions but refused to answer some, including details about an incident when Casey Anthony kept him from looking into the trunk of her car and a conversation he had about the ladder on the side of their pool.
He plans to request the judge to force George Anthony to answer those questions, Morgan said.

10:26 a.m. George Anthony and Cindy Anthony arrived at the Morgan & Morgan law firm with their attorney shortly before 10 a.m. About 20 minutes later, the deposition began of George Anthony in the law firm's mock courtroom.
