Baez received about 700 pages from the state Tuesday, but said he doesn't think it's what he's waiting to see.

"They know what we want. They know how long we've been asking for it. If we’re not getting it, obviously there comes a certain point when cooperations ends and we have to ask the court to intervene," Baez said.

Casey Anthony: WFTV says it won't retract report that the defense team called 'this fabrication'

Casey Anthony's defense team wants a retraction from WFTV-Channel 9.

The station says no way.

Jose Baez's spokeswoman said WFTV's Kathi Belich was wrong when she reported this week that Baez "faxed copies of his motion for a change of venue to some reporters before he ever filed it with the court."

Baez spokeswoman Marti Mackenzie fired off an e-mail to the station: "Please retract this fabrication that you reported. Let us know when you plan to retract your report."

In a special series entitiled "Timeline: Casey Anthony 1 Year Ago," Local 6 News reviews what has happened in the Casey Anthony case over the last year.

On May 6, 2008, Anthony exchanged computer messages with one of her lovers, then-Orange County sheriff's Deputy Anthony Rusciano, referring to Caylee as a "snot head."

"And just think of all that's happened since May 6, 2008. There are several events, large and small, that now, one year later, give you a better perspective of how all this has developed -- with now Caylee Anthony dead, her mother charged with her murder," Local 6 News reporter Tony Pipitone said. "And as those events warrant, we will bring them to you, one year later."

Baez's spokeswoman, Marti Mackenzie, said Baez filed an objection to the motion. She said the issue will be moot soon. A new death-qualified attorney has joined the team and will be at the next hearing later this month.

She would not identify the attorney.

"At that time, the defense will introduce the highly qualified and outstanding death-qualified attorney as the newest member of the defense team," she said.

Her lead attorney Jose Baez does not have proper credentials to handle a death case, but he can handle the trial is he works with a lawyer who is qualified in Florida.

Last year, Terrace Lenamon, who has worked death penalty cases, was part of Anthony's team, but according to the motion he "is no longer involved in the representation of Miss Anthony."

Baez's spokeswoman said the defense plans to introduce a new counsel qualified to handle death penalty cases at a court hearing on May 28.

Prosecutors are questioning whether or not Casey Anthony has a legally qualified defense team to try a death penalty case.

Lenamon had previous death penalty experience, but according to a motion filed by the State of Florida, Lenamon is, "no longer involved in the representation of Miss Anthony," which means he is no longer on the case.

A hearing must now be set to determine the status of the case.

WESH-Channel 2 put the story at the top of its 6 p.m. news. Reporter Bob Kealing contacted Baez's spokeswoman, who said the issue wasn't a big deal. "She said in just a few weeks, they plan to introduce a new death-qualified lawyer at their next court hearing," Kealing said. "But if this trial does go as planned in October, that means that this new lawyer they're bringing on would have only about five months to get up to speed in a very complicated capital murder case."

Casey Anthony: George and Cindy to be guests on 'Larry King Live'

George and Cindy Anthony will be guests on CNN's "Larry King Live" on Wednesday.

The parents of Casey Anthony will be there with their lawyer, Brad Conway. Larry King will be asking the questions. George and Cindy were interviewed Dec. 10 on the King show, the night before Caylee's remains were found.
Another guest will be Jon Whynock, who wrote "Caylee's Song" and performed it at the toddler's memorial. He is likely to perform a portion of the song, a King spokesman said.

There must be a better way to use Pipitone, one of the market's best reporters. He offered an excellent report earlier this week on how much people in other Florida cities know about the case. (They know a lot.)

In "Timeline: Casey Anthony," Pipitone got to read salacious messages in a monotone. He had to be bleeped a lot. The segment is a waste of time.

WESH-Channel 2 also reported that experts said Anthony's death-penalty trial could cost up to $1.2 million. Jose Baez continues depositions next week, and he will question a co-worker of meter reader Roy Kronk, who found Caylee's remains.

The Anthonys were last on that program back in December of 2008, the night before Caylee's remains were found.

"It seems that the defense loves drama and this is just another example of the drama that this defense seems to play out," Sheaffer said. "The defense appears to be very unstable."

According to defense lawyer Richard Hornsby, during recent depositions of key witnesses in the case, Baez had no death qualified attorney asking the questions and that is a mistake.

"If you don't have a death penalty certified attorney conducting those depositions it usually affects the quality of those depositions and under Florida law you can't do a second deposition of a witness," Hornsby said.

Baez is asking the judge to strike the state's motion for a hearing on the issue.

Judge Stan Strickland has not yet issued a ruling or hearing date.

A final hearing to decide whether the Orange County deputy sheriff accused of improperly investigating as tip that could have led to the discovery of Caylee Marie Anthony will be held next week.

The Sheriff's office is seeking termination for Deputy Richard Cain. The hearing will be held on May 19 and is not open to the public.

The Administrative Review Captain will make a final decision within two days of the hearing, according to a Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Fired Deputy Will Try To Get Job Back In Casey Case

Eyewitness News has learned that the Orange County deputy who was fired for allegedly doing a poor job in the case against Casey Anthony will try to get his job back in less than two weeks.

The sheriff's department says he didn't do a proper search and he was fired for lying about it. Cain gets two chances to appeal that decision. He'll make his first attempt at a hearing on May 19.
