A civil case filed by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzales against Casey Anthony will continue.

In court Tuesday morning Orange Circuit Court Judge Jose R. Rodriguez denied Anthony&#8217;s attorney Jose Baez's request that the lawsuit be thrown out. Baez claims that Gonzales' attorney, John Morgan, is milking the lawsuit for free publicity.

Gonzalez's attorneys have amended their complaint by accusing Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother, of spreading the defamation on television, DeForest added. Kasen has 20 days to respond to the amended complaint, DeForest said.

WFTV-Channel 9's Mark Boyle noted that George and Cindy Anthony, Casey's parents, had attended the hearing this morning. "They came and left without saying a single word," Boyle said.

DeForest said more fireworks were expected Thursday in the civil suit. Gonzalez's attorneys will ask the judge to force the Anthonys -- George, Cindy and Casey's brother Lee -- to answer questions they sidestepped in videotaped depositions.

Gonzalez attorney Keith Mitnik today scoffed at Anthony's refusal to clear his client Gonzalez of kidnapping Caylee Anthony.

"Her lawyers, her parents, everybody in the world on her behalf says it," Mitnik told reporters. "It's troubling that she's resisting answering that question."

WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich asked why Anthony was resisting. "I don't know whether she's wanting to keep her options open," Mitnik said.

Could Anthony use this Zenaida Gonzalez as a defense? Belich asked. Jonathan Kasen, Anthony's civil attorney, dismissed the question as speculative.

Casey Anthony's Attorney To Question Deputy Again

Deputy Acevedo first responded to the scene where Caylee's remains were eventually found when meter reader Roy Kronk originally called 911 to report seeing something suspicious in August. She went there again, two days later, with Kronk and another deputy.

Acevedo's deposition is scheduled for June 8.

George and Cindy Anthony will be back in the hot seat on May 21 (10:30AM) in the civil case against Casey. Lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez will try to convince a judge to force Casey, her parents, and her brother to answer the questions they refused to answer during the deposition.

On May 28, Jose Baez will be back in court trying to get a jail videotape thrown out. The tape supposedly shows Casey's reaction as she watched the discovery of Caylee's remains play out on Channel 9.

After a missing children&#8217;s rally this past Sunday, the Cummings family no longer welcomes the Anthonys&#8217; involvement in the continuing search efforts for daughter Haleigh.

A caller, who wishes to remain anonymous, told WESH 2 that the missing children's rally was organized by Michelle Bart. Bart was once a spokesperson for the Anthonys.

Haleigh&#8217;s mother was invited to the rally, but the Cummings family was not invited to attend.

Judge May Force Anthonys To Answer More Questions

Eyewitness News learned that George and Cindy Anthony are trying to avoid further questioning by lawyers representing Zenaida Gonzalez, who is suing their daughter Casey for defamation.

The Anthonys say they were subjected to public ridicule the first time they were questioned in the lawsuit for the way they behaved and they don't want to face that kind of criticism again.

A judge is expected to decide Thursday whether to force the Anthonys and their son Lee to answer more questions. The attorneys want to know if Casey ever used Cindy's credit cards without permission. Cindy refused to answer that question during her first deposition.

Attorneys will also depose one of Casey's friends.

"We were best friends for a short period of time," Downing said during a deposition on Thursday. After Anthony was released from jail, she visited Downing.

But lawyers for Zenaida Gonzalez, who is suing Anthony for defamation, said Casey didn't have a nanny or even know a Zenaida Gonzalez.

Downing said Thursday that she doesn't think a Zanny the Nanny exists.

"We've heard from the Anthonys now that everybody knew a Zanny and that it had been common knowledge, and here her best friend had never heard the name," said John Dill, Zenaida Gonzalez's attorney.

We were expecting to find out if a judge would order Cindy, George, and Lee Anthony to answer questions they originally refused during depositions. However, Brad Conway, the attorney for George and Cindy Anthony hurt his back and had to cancel.

The hearing may be rescheduled in June.

The judge adjourned the hearing due to an illness of Cindy and George's attorney. It is not clear when the hearing will resume.

Annie Downey, one of Casey's childhood friends, is currently being deposed by the Morgan & Morgan law firm.

"Cindy Anthony talked to Casey Anthony at the jail, and she denied ever looking at a picture of Zenaida Gonzalez, our client, and clearing her, saying 'That's not her.' She told her mother that didn't happen," attorney Keith Mitnik said, who represents Gonzalez.

Cindy Anthony has said under oath that Casey did identify Mitnik's client, Zenaida Gonzalez, to the detective.

"Why, is that not a question of fact that may have to be decided in trial," said Judge Rodriguez. "I have to get my exercise other than by jumping to conclusions."

That's because Brad Conway, the lawyer representing the Anthonys, can not make this morning's hearing.

Attorneys in the case against Casey Anthony will be back in court at 10:30 a.m.

This time the issue was supposed to be whether Orange Circuit Court Judge Jose R. Rodriguez will force the Anthonys and their son, Lee Anthony, to answer questions they initially refused in interviews.

Now, the Anthonys portion of the discussion will be rescheduled.

Annie Downing, a friend of Casey Anthony, was deposed at the Orlando law firm Morgan & Morgan on Thursday.

Downing said she never heard of a nanny Casey Anthony called Zenaida Gonzalez. Casey Anthony named Gonzalez as the woman who baby-sat Caylee and kidnapped her.

As someone close to Casey Anthony, Downing's testimony contradicts the testimonies of the Anthony family, including Casey, who all claimed they knew "Zanny the Nanny."

Lawyers for Gonzalez, of Kissimmee, said Downing's denials help their client prove she had nothing to do with Caylee's disappearance. But it also damages Casey Anthony's alibi in the criminal case.

A hearing in the civil lawsuit against Casey Anthony was rescheduled on Thursday morning because of a health problem for one of the attorneys.

Hearing Canceled Due To Attorney Hurting Back

Circuit Judge Jose Rodriguez was to hear the Motion to Compel in the Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez vs. Casey Anthony civil case Thursday morning. However, the hearing had to be cancelled, but not before the judge asked Zenaida's attorney to come to court.

"I got a phone call from Brad Conway, who is counsel for the witnesses, Cindy and George Anthony, which are the primary purpose of today's meeting, and said he had thrown his back out and could not be here this morning," explained Zenaida's attorney, Keith Mitnik. "I then called Lee Anthony's attorney and told him because &#8230; I wanted to do them together &#8230; For strategic reasons and a lot of reasons it made sense to put it off."

Mitnik said he called the judge's office and sent an email about the plan to cancel, but the judge preferred a face-to-face approach to have a record of the change of plans.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Florida bar has escalated complaints filed against Casey Anthony's defense attorney, Jose Baez.
Private investigator Dominic Casey filed a complaint against Baez, claiming that the attorney told him to not call 911 if he found Caylee Anthony's body.

The law firm is representing Zenaida Gonzalez, a Kissimmee woman suing Anthony.

She walked in with her attorney and did not speak to reporters. Downing was wearing a bracelet with this inscription: Caylee, always in our hearts.

The deposition, which was held behind closed doors, concluded just before 2:30 p.m.

Casey Anthony: What will former pal tell Zenaida Gonzalez's lawyers?

This afternoon, Gonzalez's attorneys are to depose Annie Downing, a former friend of Casey Anthony. "She could be a key witness," Gonzalez attorney Keith Mitnik told WKMG. Mitnik said his understanding was Downing was "a best friend in the middle of all this" and "could have critical information for us."

"We could hear some pretty revealing testimony," Bolden said.

"Annie is one of Casey's close friends," WFTV-Channel 9's Kathi Belich said.

In other news at noon today, WKMG anchor Erick Weber said the station "had just learned the Florida Bar is ratcheting up its investigation into Casey Anthony's criminal attorney Jose Baez." The issue: Did Baez instruct a private investigator to avoid alerting 911 if the man found Caylee's remains? The matter has been been forwarded to the Bar's grievance committee, Weber said.

3 Complaints Filed With Fla. Bar Against Baez

Circuit Judge Stan Strickland is one of three people who have filed complaints against Baez.

Another complaint involves private eye Dominic Casey's claim in a police interview that he was told not to call 911 if he found Caylee's body.

The person who filed the third complaint has not been identified.

During the deposition, Downing said the first time she ever heard the name Zenaida Gonzalez was on the news, not from Anthony.

"(Downing) could be a key witnesses. She is one of the witnesses that should say &#8211; she was, in my understanding, a best friend in the middle of all of this &#8211; could have critical information for us. We just won't know until we get there," Gonzalez's attorney Keith Mitnik said before the depositions.
