The first hurdle is getting the judge's approval.

"I wouldn't be shocked that he allows it, but it's a long shot," said University of Florida law professor Michael Seigel. "It can be prejudicial against the witness."

Tampa prosecutor Pam Bondi &#8212; who is not associated with the case &#8212; said Kronk is not on trial.

The defense will try to point their fingers at as many people as possible to draw attention away from Anthony. But, Bondi said, the state has a strong circumstantial case.

"It is going to be extremely difficult for the defense to minimize the state's evidence," she said.

Now on his blog, Hornsby writes that he was "flabbergasted" when Sheaffer described the defense's "tactics" as "despicable."

Hornsby writes, "The very conviction with which Mr. Sheaffer blasts the Anthony defense on the motion makes me question when he last opened up one of those law books he is always sitting in front of." Hornsby says Sheaffer's "legal commentary" has been "completely cheap and false."

Hornsby's main complaint is this: "I think it is time that someone puts WFTV-ABC reporter Kathi Belich and her sidekick Mr. Sheaffer to task for the pro-prosecution pandering to the anti-Anthony sentiment, rather than providing objective analysis of the legal issues in the case so that the Central Florida community can have an informed understanding of the legal issues in this case."

The Motion was dead on about the law and it was a dead on strategic move from a criminal defense perspective. And I opined this same position on WESH-NBC when I said &#8220;This is the first significant and credible shot the defense has taken against the state. I think it has a high likelihood of success.&#8221;

So I was flabbergasted when WFTV-ABC &#8220;legal analyst&#8221; William &#8220;Bill&#8221; Sheaffer said: &#8220;I deem these tactics as despicable&#8221; and then &#8220;blasted&#8221; Mr. Baez on his blog (Does Casey&#8217;s Defense Have No Sense Of Decency?), local news, and web video footage for WFTV-ABC.

Well ladies and gentleman, only one of us can be right&#8230; (I am, but more on that later.)

The statements are part of new defense motions filed Monday that seek more records from Texas EquuSearch, the volunteer group that searched for Caylee.

Joy Wray is a volunteer with Texas Equusearch, the group who helped search for Caylee Anthony, and said she has video that will be crucial to the case.

Wray said she has video from November that proves Caylee's body was not in the woods at that point. She said it backs up the defense teams claims that someone other than Casey dumped the body in the woods.

Wray will meet with a detective Monday from the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Jose Baez filed the paperwork in court Monday asking the judge to order EquuSearch founder Tim Miller to turn over information &#8212; such as names and phone numbers &#8212; for the thousands who volunteered to look for the missing 2-year-old Orange County girl.

The nonprofit, represented by Orlando attorney Mark NeJame, has given Casey Anthony's defense attorneys information about 32 people who searched in the area between Hidden Oaks Elementary School and the area near Suburban and Hopespring drives, where Caylee's body was found.

How does Sheaffer respond? Not by firing back or lambasting the critic by name, but by defending his actions.

Attorney Richard Hornsby, who has done analysis for several stations, complained on his blog yesterday that Sheaffer was "taking gratuitous and false cheap shots at the Anthony defense" and that Sheaffer was guilty of "pro-prosecution pandering to the anti-Anthony sentiment."

Casey Anthony&#8217;s defense team filed new motions Monday asking the court to order Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch, to turn over the names of the thousands of volunteers who helped search for Caylee Anthony last summer. The motion includes statements from two of the volunteers who searched the area where the child&#8217;s remains were found last December and both say they did not find anything unusual.

The court has not scheduled at date for the motion to be heard.

Defense Files Motion Demanding EquuSearch Docs

There was more action in the case against Casey Anthony Monday. Late Monday afternoon, Casey's defense team filed another motion demanding all Texas EquuSearch paperwork regarding the search for Caylee Anthony.

The organization claimed no volunteers searched the woods where Caylee was found, but the defense claims it found EquuSearch volunteers who did.

Also, a former volunteer with Texas-based EquuSearch, who's been a well-known Anthony family advocate since the beginning, says she was questioned by detectives Monday. Joy Wray claims she has information on her home computer that would prove Casey's innocence.

If the witnesses claim proves true, it could support the defense's claim that a stranger dumped the toddler's body in the woods while Casey Anthony was already in jail.

The defense team said Monday they've located two additional volunteers whose names did not appear on the list provided by Miller, both of whom claim they were in the same area on where the toddler's body was found, but did not find Caylee.

The defense says they've found more people in the course of their own investigation ..

"It's an attempt to do the state's job for them. We brought them evidence," said Linda Kenney Baden during an interview Friday with Local 6.

Asked how their client was holding up in the Orange County Jail, where she's been held without bond since her indictment on Oct. 14, 2008, Lyon said, "She's scared. I mean, wouldn't you be scared? She's scared. She's sad. She's grief-stricken and she's terrified."

"They pointed the finger at this poor young girl who did something very, very, very stupid in terms of not reporting her child missing."

Baden also explained why the defense had given an interview to Pipitone: "The local media, with the exception of some of the reporting that we've seen from you Tony, and that's why we're here, has taken everything they've seen at face value or the leaks they saw early on and publicized them improperly against our client."
