Prosecutors in the case against Casey Anthony are trying to shoot down a defense team's motion, which claims Casey faces too many check fraud charges.

The defense wants some of the charges thrown out on the grounds that Casey shouldn't face multiple charges for each check she's accused of stealing from her former best friend, and cashing them.

But prosecutors say each charge is a separate crime, with separate evidence and should stand.

Attorney Richard Hornsby, who offers legal analysis for the station, scoffed at Baez's motion. "Every court is going to say no. We're not going to give one person special treatment just because she happens to be in a high-profile case," Hornsby said. "There's no chance he's going to win on that particular motion at all."

Prosecutors today responded to defense motions to dismiss nine of 13 fraud counts, WESH anchor Jim Payne said. "Casey's lawyers argue she is charged multiple times with the same crimes," Payne said. "In their response, prosecutors outlined why this is not double jeopardy."

Orange County, which runs the jail, says Casey Anthony should not get special treatment. The county filed court papers Monday, responding to her defense team's request that she not be videotaped without audio when she meets with her lawyers at the jail.

Also, that previous videotapes are destroyed and that those public records are not disclosed.

The county says it has the legal right to have security video at the jail and does not have the legal right to destroy or withhold public records.

Jail security is one of five issues that will be heard at Casey's court hearing on Friday morning. Cindy and George Anthony and their attorney Brad Conway have been subpoenaed to testify at that hearing.

Authors, publishers aim to cash in on Casey Anthony

On the glossy cover of the book Sun Struck, Casey Anthony's mug shot is sandwiched between convicted child killers John Couey and Joseph Smith.

In The Murder Business, a detective-turned-television consultant writes about the "truth," and states Anthony killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in their family's home.

Sun Struck, about "16 Infamous Murders in the Sunshine State," includes a 15-page chapter on Anthony, now 23, and her dead 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie.

Penny C. Sansevieri, CEO of Author Marketing Experts, said the reason these books are marketed so quickly is because authors are trying to capture a story while it's fresh.

"Let's face it, the 15 minutes of fame has shrunk to 15 seconds," she said. "With so much going on . . . consumers move on quickly."

There have been endless opinions and discussions regarding the recent spate of motions filed by Casey Anthony&#8217;s defense team. These motions seek, among other things, to declare sections of Florida&#8217;s death penalty statute unconstitutional, or, attack those sections of the death penalty statute wherein the jury, during the penalty phase, is called upon to weigh aggravating circumstances versus mitigating circumstances in reaching its recommendation of either life or death..............

In view of the foregoing, I&#8217;ll leave you with an adage which I think applies to these defense motions: Throw a thousand rocks in the ocean, and you may just hit a fish.

"The body or the remains of Caylee Anthony were placed there after Casey Anthony was locked up at the Orange County Correctional Facility and that proves her innocence," said defense attorney Todd Macaluso on Aug. 21.

Anthony&#8217;s defense team is lining up witnesses to back up that statement.

They're talking to everyone who may have been in the woods where Caylee's remains were eventually found.

They have video of people searching that area they're likely to use in court.

Jail wants judge to deny Casey Anthony's request to stop recording visits
Casey Anthony's attorneys are asking a judge to order the jail to halt video monitoring.

Orange County Jail officials want a judge to deny Casey Anthony's request to bar officials from video recording her at the jail.

Her defense team is asking Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland to order the jail to halt monitoring and disclosing any "communications" Anthony has with her attorneys and also destroy all video and audio tapes of those meetings.

They also don't want the jail to release video visits between Anthony and her family.

The issue will be one of several motions addressed at a hearing Friday.

Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony case said there's no need to throw out fraud charges against her.

Anthony faces 13 counts of check forgery, but attorneys for the defense said they want nine of those counts dropped.

In a motion filed on Tuesday, prosecutors said the trial judge should filter out multiple punishments at the end of the trial -- not the beginning.

The State Attorney's Office will release discovery in the Casey Anthony case this afternoon.

Included among the documents is a series of black and white copies of pictures of Casey Anthony and Caylee Anthony, who is wearing a T-shirt that reads "Big Trouble Comes In Small Packages." Fragments of a child size T-shirt with the same words were found in the area where Caylee's remains were located.

Also released:

- An Orange County Sheriff's Office forensics report from October, about the search for fingerprints on items found in the garbage bag investigators seized from the trunk of Casey Anthony's Pontiac. The report said the investigator had zero results from the dozens of items, ranging from empty soda cans to air freshener sheets.

- A letter to the State Attorney's Office that details information about water depths in the area where Caylee's remains were found.

- An employee wage sheet from Event Imaging Solutions for Casey Anthony from 2004 to 2006.

In his handwritten documents, Elgine Furlow claims that Casey Anthony is innocent. He claims Casey Anthony said that a young under aged male killed her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony.

The State Attorney&#8217;s Office has just released new documents in the Case Against Casey.

Among the items released is a water depth report from the location where the body of Caylee Anthony was discovered.

Also released was information from an Orlando TV station about the case and some photos of Caylee and Casey Anthony playing the guitar.

A third document is wage information for the time that Casey Anthony worked at Event Imaging Solutions, Inc.

Also amid the documents is a television script discussing a jail phone call from Anthony to her brother, Lee, regarding Zenaida Gonzalez, who is the nanny Anthony maintains kidnapped Caylee.

Another document is wage information for the time that Anthony worked at Event Imaging Solutions, a photography vendor with Universal Studios. A finger print report on a bag of evidence from Anthony's car was also included in that file. It showed no finger prints were found.

Dozens of new documents were released Wednesday in the case against Casey Anthony. They documents include pictures of Caylee Anthony, wearing a T-shirt that said "Big trouble comes in small packages," and that shirt could be the link between her life and her death.

The new documents also show that Casey made a little more than $20,000 in about one year and a half at the job she had at Universal Orlando before Caylee was born.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have filed two more motions in the case as well. One is to block release of an illegal recording of the defense team's interview with EquuSearch volunteer, Joe Jordan. He is the one who recorded the interview.

Prosecutors are also demanding a full witness list from the defense team and it accuses the team of withholding contact information about meter reader Roy Kronk's ex-wives.

Psychiatrist: Casey Anthony confessed to Caylee&#8217;s murder through song (audio)

Dr. Andrew Hodges, a Birmingham, Ala. psychiatrist, told the National Enquirer that the lyrics to Casey Anthony&#8217;s favorite song &#8220;The Past&#8221; by the group Sevendust contain her confession to murder.

According to the Enquirer, Dr. Hodges is an &#8220;expert at interpreting how criminals reveal themselves subconsciously through what they say and write.&#8221;

The report alleges that when Casey was released from jail last summer she made a friend listen to the song 13 times in a row. She allegedly told the friend, &#8220;This song was in my head the whole time I was in jail&#8230; It reminds me of everything that&#8217;s going on in my life.&#8221;

The lyrics begin by saying &#8220;Beneath the water that&#8217;s falling from my eyes lays a soul I&#8217;ve left behind&#8230;&#8221; Dr. Hodges says &#8220;For Casey, the lyrics refer to Caylee Anthony&#8217;s murder.&#8221;
