PALATKA -Terry Shoemaker, said he hopes the total sentence will be 15 years, with the three sentences being served concurrently.

Shoemaker said part of the agreement is that Cummings will provide testimony about his drug co-defendants if needed. But Shoemaker said he doubts that will be necessary because they are not contesting the charges.

"I don't think there is anything else he can give (prosecutors). He has answered all of their questions," Shoemaker said.

Soon, most of the key figures in the February 2009 disappearance of Haleigh Cummings will be in prison doing time on unrelated drug convictions.

Locked away with them will be whatever secrets they still might hold that could solve the case.

But legal experts say unraveling the mystery could hinge on classic legal tactics in which key figures feed investigators more information in the hopes of receiving a break in court.

After authorities in January arrested Misty Croslin and her brother Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. on drug charges, the two gave a new version of how Haleigh vanished.

Investigators with the PCSO have declined to discuss the evidence they have gathered and whether they have been able to connect any suspects to the crime. They also have declined to say whether they believe the Croslins, given the way their stories have changed over the past 18 months.

Attorneys for the Croslins this week related what their clients told authorities about events the night Haleigh disappeared.

Shoemaker said his client is skeptical of the story.

"Ronald has a hard time understanding why someone would go to steal a gun and steal a child instead," Shoemaker said. "I think he has a feeling that there's still more that needs to come out."

When asked about Cummings' relationship with Overstreet, Shoemaker said the two did not get along.

"He said it was just one of those where he didn't know him but didn't have good feelings about him," Shoemaker said.

Overstreet was arrested in Tennessee on drug charges last week.

A good Samaritan loaned her some clothes. Lisa has no where to go, she has no home, and her most of her family all seems to be residing behind bars.

She return to the same boarding house that she had been living in with her husband. It is unclear as to the exact details, however she was told that she could stay there for three days.

Last nights phone call to BNN revealed that Lisa Croslin was at a local emergency facility, drunk, and higher than a kite on Xanax.

Donna Michell Brock, 44, sold oxycodone pills to an undercover
officer in January at a truck stop off Interstate 95. She was with
Misty Croslin. Brock pleaded no contest to one count of trafficking in the drug.

At the hour-long hearing, Brock told the judge how she had searched for other missing children and said she was trying to gain Croslin's trust to learn about Haleigh's disappearance.

She admitted she gave the drugs to Croslin to sell.

"I ended up giving her my prescription and that was the prescription she sold," she said.

Brock is from North Carolina but had a rented place in Orlando where she worked on searches with Equusearch.
Equusearch founder Tim Miller encouraged the friendship to try and
learn what Croslin knew about Haleigh's disappearance.
He later lost trust in Brock and cut ties with her.

Misty Croslin still faces sentencing in her cases.

PALATKA — Ronald Cummings will spend 15 years in prison for taking part in a string of drug deals selling prescription pills.

Ronald Cummings, didn't comment to the judge in the 15-min hearing.

Neves, told the court her son was a good man and father who had made bad decisions.

Judge Terry LaRue didn't comment on the case other than to impose sentences of 15 years apiece on two counts and three years on a third count to run concurrently. He was also fined $250,000.

Ronald Cummings was the only person involved in the case to get a plea deal.

Terry Shoemaker, said he thought Ronald's willingness to testify in any cases involving Haleigh's disappearance or the drug cases played a role in the state's willingness to make a deal.

Shoemaker said, prosecutors may have been sympathetic that Cummings' daughter disappeared. Her case has not been solved and investigators believe Haleigh Cummings is dead.

Family members sobbed and hugged after the sentencing.

PALATKA, Fla. -- Ronald Cummings, the father of a girl who disappeared 19 months ago, will serve 15 years in prison and was fined $200,000 for selling prescription drugs.

VIDEO REPORT: Haleigh's Dad Sentenced http://www.clickorlando.com/video/25145883/index.html

Ronald Cummings, could have faced a maximum of 90 years in prison, but reached an agreement with prosecutors that two of five charges he faced would be dropped in exchange for Cummings testifying in any future criminal trial involving the disappearance of his daughter.

At a 15-minute sentencing hearing the state did not call any witnesses, but Neves, did make a brief, tearful plea for mercy for her son.

Judge LaRue then sentenced Cummings to two 15-year and one seven-year sentence, but will allow the time to be served concurrently. Larue also sentenced Cummings to pay a $200,000 fine plus court costs, but that could be modified later by a civil judge.

All three defendants are central figures in the disappearance of Ronald Cummings' 5-year-old daughter in February 2009.
In April, the Putnam County sheriff said she is likely dead and described the case as a homicide investigation.

Shoemaker, Cummings' attorney, told reporter Tarik Minor that his client isn't buying his ex-wife and brother-in-law's account of Haleigh's disappearance, saying a cousin from Tennessee went to Cummings' mobile home to retrieve a gun and took Haleigh instead.
"Ronald has a hard time believing someone would go to the house to get a gun and take a child instead," Shoemaker said. "He questions that aspect of it."

Shoemaker said that if Haleigh's body is never found but police are able to make an arrest, testimony may be the basis of a criminal prosecution.

Facebook is filled with pleas for help in finding missing children

It used to be that if a child went missing, his or her image would be posted on telephone poles, neighborhood gathering places and parking lots.

But now, people are using Facebook — the social-networking website that connects millions through photos and commentary — as a tool in the search for their missing loved ones.

"One of six children is located because someone recognizes them in a photograph," said John Shehan of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in Virginia. "But with more than 500 million active users on Facebook, that statistic is greatly enhanced when someone creates a page for a missing child."

Tara Yunker disappeared from her New Smyrna Beach home Sept. 3, and Melbourne police found her days later after friends launched a Facebook page for the 16-year-old.

The family of Haleigh Cummings, the missing 5-year-old Satsuma girl, also created a Facebook page for the child in 2009. Haleigh has not been found, and Putnam County Sheriff's Office investigators think the child is dead.

Cummings agreed to testify in any criminal case in the future in connection to the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings. The impression has always been that it’s Misty Croslin who is withholding information about Haleigh’s disappearance, not Ronald.

The state dropped two of the five charges and sentenced him to two 15 year sentences and another 7 year sentence, to be served concurrently.

Under FL law, Cummings is expected to serve 85 percent of his sentence.
Shoemaker–said the judge put a lien against Cummings…that he will never be able to pay in this lifetime.

Hank Jr. Croslin denied reduction in drug sentence

A key figure in the Haleigh Cummings case lost his bid Monday for a reduced sentence on oxycodone trafficking charges.

Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. had petitioned to cut the 15-year jail term he received in August, with his attorney suggesting three to five years was more consistent with similar cases in Putnam County.

"Fifteen years might be a bit of overkill," defense attorney James Werter told Circuit Judge Terry LaRue.

But LaRue wasn't moved.

"I gave considerable consideration to it," the judge said of the sentence.
