Savage should read our Myth Busters thread. The media will tell you things concerning this case that are flat-out incorrect.

They get it wrong all the time? I think Savage might know a few more things than we do. IMO, compared to most cases, the media has gotten alot correct here. Do they get it correct all the time? No. Funny thing is it doesn't keep us from watching or reading them.

The media has a hard time "getting it right". They are talking about the video on JVM right now, the one of Casey playing with Caylee on the floor. That video has been out for months. They are saying that the video was released on You Tube just before air time!!! AAAAAAAAAARGHHH

Heh. I saw that, too, and rolled my eyes. That video has been out for a while now.

Thanks for those video links. Looks like I have to potentially watch up to an hour to find that part. The context is important. If he was responding to something specific that CA said, he might be right that the media reporting was accurate for that specific thing. He is wrong if he makes a blanket statement that the media is accurate.

Not only is NG's intro every night boringly repetitive, but it's inaccurate. If I was the one living 15 houses away from the crime scene I would be livid that this myth has been repeated every night in the intro to the NG show.

As to the photos that were released so far, big whoop-di-do on the band photo art, the tattoo art, and the bar flyers. So what? Lots of young people have that stuff on their social network websites and online photo accounts. I bet Casey has similar stuff on her accounts from way back, not just from the May, June, or July 2008 time period that's been released as evidence.

I agree that Websleuths.com has much better info and links to the doc dumps, video links, and pix. I'd rather look at the stuff by myself without the filtering of a 3rd party media talking head!

:clap::clap::clap: Since he has the case file right in front of him and has seen it all first hand...I would say so!! LOL I would say YM and JA know more than we do, too.

No. It hasn't stopped me from watching. In all the hype, there are times we glean a hint of information which goes along with things we have found out to explore more. While NG does get a lot wrong, her producer and staff are really to blame for it. She depends on them and they are not doing their jobs of fact checking. (Greta has a better staff, imo, but still gets things wrong.)

As far as the local media goes...in order to keep the story fresh enough to keep viewers interested...they have to hype it. It is the nature of the business. Either there is no news to report or you have to find an angle to keep it going in the media.

ETA: I agree NG needs to change her lead in. It is ridiculous, inaccurate, and too long!

I agree.

IMO, HLN has turned into the Anthony channel. It's time to move on.

Caylee is not missing nor will she be forgotten.

Our attention needs to be focused on the ones that are still missing.

Does anyone else agree that the media blows half of this stuff out of proportion?

I mean come on really, the photobucket pics are not "shocking" or "disturbing."

I see worse stuff in commercials on the TV. please.

I am in no way a KC supporter, but come on.... some of this stuff is just being used to stir up ratings/hits.

Shocking an disturbing are in the eye of the beholder. At this point any picture of Casey or the rest of the Anthonys are disturbing to me.

There's also a generational shift to consider too. Punks, goths and others intentionally disturbed the generation before them with their imagery-- but once the shock is over, the images become cliche. If you hadn't heard of Photobucket, or seen such imagery, such things might disturb you more than if it weren't just "part of growing up".

There's also context. I find it disturbing that Casey was downloading images of skulls and skeletons, since that's exactly what her daughter became.

All this said, I agree many media outlets (maybe not all) blow things out of preportion. But this isn't confined to this case, or just the media itself. If these truly are the pictures than JB was trying to suppress, then he and Casey are more guilty of hyping these photos than any one else.

In fairness to the media, we haven't seen everything yet. In GA interview with LE he got sick right after talking about photos of KC. If it wasn't for the media going down and getting what is released and making it available to us - we wouldn't know what we know.

I thought he got "sick" after discussing the smell again in the car.

I thought in the LE interview it was stated that he became sick when he was asked to come down to listen to CA 911 call. Then he was told that LE was going to ask LA to come also, and GA didn't want LA to know that he had been down there "with LE" (I'm assuming discussing stuff about KC)? He became sick and they asked him if he needed medical attention and he stated "no it was just his nerves." I think I recalled that from the discovery documents, or is there another instance that he became sick?

They might as well just send Casey straight to prison, because she's already been convicted in the media and in the public. No need for a trial, everybody in the world except for her family KNOWS she done it.

I just spent 2 weeks in Tampa Bradenton and Cape Coral and rarely saw much about The Anthony's The regular news reports just short spots on the case. So if Orlando is flooded with news on Kc many other towns barely report that much. Unfortunately I did not have my computer so I was way behind in info. I believe there are many towns in fl that can offer a "fair trial" unlike what jb has said she can't get a fair trial anywhere.
I think people are smart enough to pick and choose what is relevent and what is just simple info on this case. What is JB afraid will be released I wonder.
Well there was one thing he would object to. If the licorce story is true.
I mostly read and don't post much so I hope it is ok to post from my point of view of what I experienced in FL.

No GRIEVING parent or parent WORRIED FOR THE SAFETY OF HER CHILD would want to look at skull or skeleton images.

They will go to demonstrate Casey's state of mind while Caylee was supposedly missing.

A parent overcome with worry and fear at thoughts of their child being kidnapped by a 'crazed nanny' would hardly be in the mood to be searching out and 'decorating' their photo bucket pictures, myspace pages, & facebook pages with skeleton pictures!
I believe that these type pictures are bombshells, just by the fact that Casey,the murderous mother, dumped her toddler's half decomposed body out like garbage to continue to rot in a swamp!
These pictures show a state of mind, so to speak. I think Casey was thinking of her evil, deadly act subconsciously and was in a rather morbid and downward state, while looking for items and pictures she associated with her recent evil deed.

I am not a KC supporter,,,with that said, I am sickened by the media hype on this case. Let it go away and try this case on facts - which there seem to be plenty of. Last night's NG show featured KC almost the entire time. Not one mention of Haliegh Cummings or Adji.................I'm so sick of it. What a huge waste of airtime when MISSING children could be featured. sick sick sick of it.

LOL! This case has made me lose ALL respect for NG. She's misreported, oversensationalized, oh, theonly case she's covered worse is the Haleigh Cummings case. You were sooooooooo right on tehcloser with the rerun and beads comments. I tape her show and watch in the next mornging....I have to double check my dates because "breaking news on a 2 year old florida girl...." is ALWAYS the same old garbage....only Greta and Geraldo are worse. JVM has had far superior coverage on this case and others.
