Welcome to Websleuths, all three of you!

I'd suggest just finding a thread that interests you & reading! Maybe a case near you, or in a familiar place.

Websleuths is a fact-based site, posts need a supporting link to an LE report or a main stream media article.

Posts without supporting links are considered rumors, and are usually deleted quickly.

You'll figure the rest out!

I am trying to get some information on where you currently reside... The last thing I want to do is to make anyone feel uncomfortable. This is not a ploy to becomes a creeper. I truly am looking for connections. I am an avid true crime follower and it is hard for me to find others who have the same interest. Of my friends, I am the only one who follows true crime. <modsnip> My name is Tim and I live in the south suburbs of Chicago. Take care and I hope to hear from others.

Good afternoon, All. I’m in Chicago and really interested in helping, using my former law enforcement and current technology skills. I’d like to team up with some of the more seasoned members so that I can learn properly how to be a good team member and super sleuth over time. Please feel free to reach out to me if you’re up for taking on a rookie and showing me the ropes. thanks in advance

Stay at home dad here in a similar situation. 6 kids ranging from 18 years to 6 months. This has been a weird time for me as I'm not used to being home so much but it's been an awesome experience. I've recently gotten sucked into this world as my wife is an vid fan, and now I am too. Welcome to all and hope to see yall around!

Hello everyone!
I'm new here and so glad that I found this website. I was recently thinking that there had to be something like this in existence and so glad to see that there is.
I have helped with some cases in real life many years ago and really enjoyed helping out. Since I haven't had the opportunity to do so, I've become obsessed with code-breaking and studying cold cases. My biggest roadblock with cold cases is having the ability to visit locations or talk to people directly related to the case. Because of this, I prefer to look at cases brought here by family/friends that are willing to answer questions and maybe even do a bit of legwork. If you know of any that you can direct me to, that would be much appreciated.
I'm hoping a network like this will make it easier to resolve those issues so we can help find some of those people or at least give the families closure.

Hey everyone! I am 39 years old from the East Coast of Canada. I just joined WebSleuths tonight. By day, I am a working professional in client relationship management. By night, as I am sure most of us are, I have an obsession for true crime and unsolved murders, disappearances and kidnappings. Binge watching true crime documentaries on Netflix is something I enjoy doing on a lazy Sunday. I keep an extremely open mind when it comes to certain cases especially cases that have been "tried in the media". There are people sitting in jail serving life sentences or are on death row that are innocent just as there are many people living a free existence that are guilty. I am open to healthy debate but I hope my opinions, observations, insights, etc., can be 110% respected even if you don't agree just as I will respect you. Looking forward to interacting with you all!

A BIG WELCOME TO ALL OUR NEW MEMBERS !!

1657912867470.png

Websleuths is thrilled to have you all here and we really look forward to your participation in the various threads. There are so many cases that could use your help so find one that piques your interest and jump on into the discussion. Even if you are a bit shy at first, one thing you can do to help is to let family members who are reading at Websleuths know that you are thinking of them and their loved one. Even something as simple as a thoughtful word of support and caring in a Cold Case will be appreciated.

Please make sure to read our Terms of Service (aka The Rules, found at this link and also linked in my signature at the bottom of this post). Our rules may seem more strict than other sites but that's what makes WS the most respected site within the true crime community. We are different and our members are expected to be respectful and responsible.Websleuths is not an "anything goes / rag mag" type of site. We understand our new members won't learn all our rules in a day or two so we're pretty easy go for a while, but after a couple of weeks, we expect everyone will have familiarized themselves with how we roll at Websleuths.

If you have questions for a Mod or an Admin, just jump off any post by using the Report feature at the bottom to ask and a Mod or Admin will get back to you. (You can also private message any of them but if they aren't around for a day or so, your PM may not be seen in a timely fashion. Best to use the Report feature and whichever staff member is on board will see your Report and can respond quicker than if you send a private message.)

We appreciate our wonderful members. Thank you all for being here to help in any way you can.

Sillybilly :)

Hello, I skipped this introduction and went straight to the discussions and jumped right in. I was a law enforcement officer for 13 years (street cop, Narcotics Investigator and Evidence tech.) to say I loved my job is an understatement. I come from a long line of LE in my family, Grandfather was a judge, dad a retired cop, sister a crime victims advocate its in our DNA I guess. I work in the private sector now but my love of law enforcement has never left me. I have always had a huge interest in investigation and over the years have been drawn to missing persons and following cases/stories. I often find myself going down rabbit holes. I don't have a desire to work for a law enforcement agency again, however I have been researching how to become more involved in search and rescue organizations as well as the training of cadaver dogs. I totally support law enforcement but I am often dismayed by how missing persons cases are handled. Some agencies are fantastic, and some sadly do the missing persons no favors. So by day I'm a regular girl and in my free time I'm still trying to find a way to save a small sliver of the world we live in.
