Hi everyone, I just joined Websleuths today. I've spent many years trying to find my grandfather. He abandoned his family in the late sixties and changed his name (allegedly several times). This isn't a missing person's case related to a crime (as far as I know), it's a missing relative. I'm just desperate at this point and I heard that Websleuths is amazing at this kind of thing. I have a lot of information that I'll eventually make a big post about but I want to know if this is something Websleuths could help me with and, if so, could someone direct me to the proper forum for this? Thank you so much :)

Welcome to Ws ammwd!
If you had a news or police report, we could start a thread for your missing g.father, hoping someone else pops on with other suggestions to help you out.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't have a news or police report. All I know is that the last place he was seen by a family member was in Alexandria, VA around 1995.

Hi there. I'm long time lurker and new member. I'm an incoming college freshman planning to major in Anthropology. I'm very interested in true crime and narrative journalism, and I hope to combine those interests together. I joined to find more reliable resources for cases I will be writing about.

I'm a true crime podcast junkie and heard my favorite show mention this forum just today. I'm from a town in Texas and we have a girl that went missing so I was searching the web for info and this site came up! I'm excited to join everyone here!

Hey everyone! Another longtime lurker and podcast junkie here. My uncle was killed in Brown County, TX in 1996, and the case has long since gone cold. I'm hoping to gain some insight and some answers. One of my other uncles has the police report and a bunch of other relevant information, so I'm planning on putting together a formal post soon.

Hi ammwd and welcome to Websleuths.

There is a group on Facebook that do this sort of thing, they mainly search in Australia but they also search in US, UK and other countries. They are pretty amazing.

This is the link to the group, it's public so you can have a look without joining. Feel free to ask the Admins about your situation.

Reconnect. FREE.
